"Yeaaah, man… that was some good shit."

"Woooo~~~Hooooo"

A youth's excited sound could be heard throughout the apartment. He was none other than Dave Anderson. His eyes were as red as an apple after overwatching TV.

The reason for his excitement was the last episode of the Naruto anime. A legendary masterpiece to have ever been created. He enjoyed it so much that all he did in his spare time was watch Naruto.

More than that, his character deeply resonated with him, as he was also an orphan. He still remembers the day that his parents died before him. He has never felt so helpless as that day. He could only watch his parents get crushed under a bus driven by a drunkard.

For the longest time, the sound of bus brakes made him shiver irrepressibly. At that point, he was merely 8 years old. Although his guardians gave him a place to stay and food to fill his stomach, they weren't much help with his emotional needs.

All of this only made him mature faster. He had a strong heart and wasn't willing to surrender to destiny. So, he tirelessly studied and finally got into a good university at the age of 20.

His life wasn't good or bad. He just lived on for the sake of his parents. He could never forget their eyes when they gave the last desperate push and saved him. Dave lived just for the sake of living.

However, he began to change little by little after meeting his friends. They supported him in every way. One day, his friends introduced him to Naruto.

Dave first watched it to entertain his friend's idea. But after seeing Naruto, he felt like Naruto's character could relate to him in some areas. As a result, he started to be highly invested in the Naruto series. It was an emotional roller coaster.

<That Day Evening>

<Dave Pov>

"Damn it, it's raining."

*Sigh*

"I just wanted to eat some dinner after successfully finishing such a long anime, but it seems like I am not fated to have it easy," Dave said to himself.

I am pretty proud of myself, to be honest. It was really a challenging task to watch the whole series. I mean, come on. 720 episodes and 11 movies? Who could even watch that?

Initially, I just watched every episode like a big dumbo. Only after I got a friend's saving grace did I know there were many fillers in it. So, I quickly moved those useless fillers into one folder named: Shitty Fillers. Ha-ha, am I wrong? Anyway, that's how I managed to watch it without getting bored with useless episodes.

Some fillers were good, but we all know why we came to watch Naruto. To see some good jutsu with some plot. And that's what I got.

Hmm, the rain isn't going down anytime soon. I better take my umbrella out.

(Dave then went to his apartment and grabbed the first umbrella he could find. It was rusty, and its mechanisms were a mess. But he was also helpless because his umbrellas were like that.)

Alright, then, where shall I go now? Mm... I heard that the food in the newly opened restaurant was good. Yeah, I'll go there and test it out.

Ah yes, what time is it now?

For God's sake, is it that late? Gotta run fast.

<Pov End>

Dave Anderson started running towards the restaurant through the rain. There weren't any vehicles visible, so he had a relatively peaceful mind.

However, good times are never meant to last. He slipped in a moment of distraction, hitting his head on a sharp metal edge hidden just below the water's surface. The last thing he remembered was the sudden pain.

The funny thing was that he always thought that he would die in a vehicle accident. So, he avoided vehicles as much as he could at night. But he never would have thought he would die in such a silly way. Ultimately, he brought himself to death due to his own carelessness and impatience.

Suddenly, Dave got his consciousness back. Everything was black around him. There was no sound, no light, or anything else for that matter. He panicked and tried moving forward. Yet, he couldn't move or talk.

"Dave Anderson"

He heard an authoritative voice calling out his name. He saw a figure with no face nor any features coming towards him. The closer he got, Dave felt like his body was being reconstructed. It was more like coming into existence again.

"Who are you?"

Dave asked apprehensively.

"Interesting…. Your soul is fascinating. Such a strong desire to live for the sake of someone."

The figure continued without taking Dave into account.

"It would be a waste to send such a soul into the cycle of reincarnation. Hmm... Maybe he, of all people, would be able to entertain me."

Dave didn't know what to say. He couldn't even think properly seeing that figure roaming around and examining him like some meal to be eaten. But it wasn't like poor Dave could do anything against him. So, he decided to keep listening.

"I didn't introduce myself, now did I? You could call me the architect or designer. If you feel like it, God is also fine."

Now Dave's mind was racing everywhere. It is reasonable, considering that he was before the literal God. He never believed in God after the accident with his parents. It's not like he blamed him for it. He just didn't feel the need to pray to an almighty god. Therefore, Dave had a hard time making heads or tails of everything.

"Also, don't worry, I never really asked anyone to worship me or anything of the sort. So, rest assured, I won't hold any grudge against you."

God's tone was without any emotion. But Dave knew that he had no ill will toward him. There wasn't any goodwill either. He was like the definition of a neutral party.

Dave then gathered his courage and asked, "God, what do you need from me? I don't have anything to offer."

"That's where you are wrong, Dave Anderson.

How about this? I will grant you a new life in a predestined world of your choosing. You mortals call them different names, I suppose. For now, I'll refer to it as an imaginary world. You just have to live your life to the fullest in that world. Mabe makes some changes to it. Good or evil does not matter; what I want is something entertaining. You can choose any character you want when getting reincarnated, of course.

Furthermore, I could grant you some wishes, as long as they are reasonable. Not because I can't, but because that would defeat the purpose of sending you there.

Tell me your answer, Dave Anderson."

<Dave Pov>

Am I dreaming?

Is this even real?

From what he says, I must go to some world depicted in novels or anime. Although I never really saw life as colorful after that fateful day when I was eight, I don't want to die either. I really wanted to experience my life deep inside my heart. Yet, circumstances did not allow me that relief.

Now I have that chance. I will definitely take it and live my life to the fullest.

Mom and Dad, thank you for everything. I think it's finally time to let you go. I hope you be happy in your next life.

<Pov End>

"I'm willing. The world I have chosen is Naruto, and I want to be Naruto Uzumaki."

Dave said to God.

"Hmm… That is indeed a good choice. Do you have requests for any abilities, Dave Anderson?"

God said while gesturing for him to come forward.

"What I want is...…."

Dave thought for a while and asked for the abilities that could be the most useful. Most of the abilities were not very strong in themselves but could be developed into something formidable. Dave used this trick to ask for many miscellaneous abilities.

God had an amused look on his expressionless face for the first time. What Dave did couldn't be hidden from him.

"I'll grant your wishes, Dave Anderson. Live your life well. Also, since you managed to entertain me, I gave you a gift. Discover what it is if you can, boy."

He waved his hand without waiting for a reply, making Dave's consciousness go black again.

"What an amusing lad."

God said while disappearing into the void.
