16 The past

Since the body was saved by Jimmy the loyal bobcat, so a proper funeral was held. Although it might not be too important considering that Jingo was already dead before ghosts tried to take his body away.

One question however, is why they wanted Jingo's body? Again, he's already dead and can't be killed again.

Perhaps they wanted to butcher Jingo's body? Maybe they feed on the body or it might have something to do with the dark arts of magic.

When it comes to ghosts, a normal citizen can't predict correctly considering how discreet ghosts are... most of the times.

After the funeral, most people speed walked towards their homes. This situation got the whole village shaken, some are even tad traumatized although not harmed by anything.

And since Jingdo doesn't have any family members here, it was a bigger motivation to scram.

And perhaps it was a good idea to do so, as what they've met with would shake any soul to its deepest root.

Old William appeared in front of them, but how can that be? He's supposed to be good as dead!

Well it looks like he still is, what represents William is a shade of black, shaped like a human but Ambers can notice quite well who it is.

The... seemingly ghost of William, has rushed towards Chief Ambers and stopped on his spot once reaching her.

Panicking inside but not willing to break just yet, she looks at Delion and asks. "You see this too right?"

"Yes." Delion answers and hurries towards the lady, wanting to pull her away from possible trouble.

"Kushak ratis lum."

"Herttetttet."

"Kaskat pajdet rushulutlakat at."

"Aaaaaaaaaat!"

The figure representing old William tried to speak but regardless of attempt, doesn't manage to say anything that makes sense.

At this point, chief Ambers is frozen on her spot. Ghost sightings were faced before but never like this! William is of the deceased, a soul and is trying to communicate as well.

"That's gibberish..." Delion pointed out the obvious, pulled Ambers further away from William's soul.

Right after, they see Jimmy the bobcat rushing to the scene, apparently he has broken out of Amber's house somehow.

Reaching the graveyard, it leaps against old William's soul!

But to Delion's surprise especially, Jimmy goes right through the potential enemy and lands on the other side, having it hard to stand on his feet and puking out this dark liquid.

"Jimmy!" Delion yells and actually gains the courage to take a swing against William who just isn't going away.

Kinda touching William, more like swiping his arm across thin air, through that split second Delion almost felt like his soul is being drained out of his body!

Right after, he pukes out the same dark liquid that Jimmy hurled, falling on the ground, draining the detective's energy quickly!

Now with even less hesitation, William approaches the chief a tad closer while she's still frozen in fear.

Delion wants to stand up but he can't stop hurling and therefore is clinging the left hand on Amber's ankle.

William continued to speak in gibberish but finally, one word came out understable. "Jingo..."

And right after, in a split second, the soul of William disappears faster than the eye can blink. Leaving traumatized people and the dark shaded foot steps over the ground he stepped on.

What's more interesting, there are 3 other men here. Living men, they are villagers who attended the funeral.

Yet all 3 were paralyzed in fear more than chief Ambers was, unwilling to make a step forward and as if paralyzed when it came to running away.

...

This situation... this whole murder spree and the paranormal activies coming with it, well it is heavily draining. Especially for Delion and Ambers who are trying to solve everything.

Everything is going for shit, everything in this case is working against the detective's favour. Even the bobcat whom they considered as an advantage, almost died puking out dark liquid.

Jimmy is okay, but like what it did to Delion, the feline has become tremendously tired. It's not easy to puke out 10 liters of whatever that was and however it entered the digestive tract.

Now, the two attempting trouble solvers have walked in to Ambers' house, to relax and think more about this bizarre case.

Ambers decided before to never enter this house again, but the emotional damage of seeing a tough guy like Delion, clinging on her leg like life itself depended on it, is far worse than seeing a man nailed on her wall.

Well at least that's how Ambers sees it, truly damaging.

Considering that one way or the other Delion is facing the worst damage, although surviving each one. The lady decided that the agreed pay isn't nearly enough of a compensation for all of this that would break 10 men.

Therefore, she offers. "You can drop this case if you want to. Don't get me wrong but I don't want to see you dead."

Highly disagreeing, Delion recites. "It doesn't matter what you want to see. I told you, this has become personal. Selia will suffer and I will be the inflictor."

Her tone raising, willing to shun this detective away for the sake of living, the lady thunders. "And how are you going to do that Delion? With a cat? Both of you almost died and William's soul didn't even have to attack."

Actually calm, half ignoring the yelling lady, Delion murmurs. "Maybe there's a difference between souls and ghosts... Jimmy beatted up a few ghosts, it was hilarious when they kept screaming."

Not understanding how this man is smiling at a time like this while mostly he has an attitude of a wild boar in labour, the chief expresses herself tad calmer now. "Delion, sex isn't enough for this..."

"What do you mean?" Delion questions, staggered of who's having intimate interactions throughout a murder spree.

"Isn't that what we agreed on? You took the case because I'm supposed to have sex with you once the case is solved." She is tad shy to say this but the trauma is shunning the rest of the usual embarrassment away.

"Oh..." Delion murmured, understanding what the lady meant from the very beginning and therefore contradicting. "I thought you meant something else."

Staggered by how the wise and unbeatable detective could have slipped at such a sensitive deal, Ambers immediately asks. "Then what did you think? I thought you wanted that since..."

"No no, well I do but not like this." Delion expressed, realizing what he just said, the man became tad embarrassed but is well trained to not show emotion.

Finally, he clears out. "I accepted the case thinking that the reward will be forgiveness. I'm really sorry about... our past."

Realizing that she embarrassed herself in more than a bunch of ways, the lady's cheeks become tad red while uttering. "God... I'm so stupid. I thought you wanted to..."

And finally proving himself human, Delion weighs in. "Well I do, don't get me wrong. But not like this... I know that I don't show much emotions but did you really think that I'm that cruel? To use your desperation like that?"

Tad harsh but not hesitant, the lady cites. "Well I got to know you up close, there are little things you wouldn't do."

Since this topic is open, Delion wants to use the opportunity to finally get wat he wants.

Therefore, he bends the knee, touching the lady's feet and adds. "I'm sorry about your father Elizabeth Ambers. I'm sorry about sending him to jail years ago, I was framed as much as he was."

Never seeing Delion break down his ego to this point, Ambers feels her ego broken for putting such a tough man to this point.

So she immediately assures while helping the man stand up. "It's okay, the damage is already done and my father is dead. And we were all done wrong... so I forgive you."

Looking at the man eye to eye, she offers. "Looks like you cleaned my house up earlier, this place has never shined this much. So how about I give you the reward I intended to give."

Never expecting that the situation will ascend for the better this quickly, Delion has the absolute audacity to joke. "I would love that but let me pee out the William juice first or it can get filthy."
