13 Taming the ghost hunter

"Okay... that's another trap set." Delion thought to himself, gazing at a rope trap, appropriately linked with a tree.

The base reason behind setting this trap has a rather extensive explanation, but Delion doesn't want to catch an all powerful ghost with a darn rope. No no, that would be stupid and a perfect waste of time.

Delion has walked towards the mountainside, one to set up rope traps and two to clear his mind. What he went through was a clear public embarrassment, tens of people saw him naked, running around like a drunkard.

But will he give up? No! Selia will pay for the murders she's causing, she will especially pay for what she did to Delion, whatever it was.

We can call it possession, but no that wasn't it, Selia was in mid air even after Delion was knocked out so it can't be possession.

Whatever it is, it's unheard off. Ghostly encounters are so rare here that the worst people have seen before, are people disappearing into darkness, people they don't know that is.

But yesterday? It was absolutely insane and broke so many common boundaries.

But why is Delion out here in the open when the attacks area back there in Blenar?

He wants to catch an animal, it's most commonly known as 'bobcat' and Delion wants to catch it alive, somehow taming it will be a secondary task.

But why on earth would Delion need a bobcat here in such a pressing situation? Well when he was working for royalty, Delion had countless conversations with a magician taking residence in the castle.

Although hard to call that man a magician, since he was mostly just tampering with nature's substances, the man did mention a thing or two about the paranormal.

The topic became extensive, that's why Delion was forced to pay further attention towards that topic and actually remember a thing or two.

That magician firmly stated that bobcats can actually see ghosts, that won't necessarily play a big role here since Selia revealed herself in front of the two investigators, but a second ability that the bobcat supposedly possesses, made Delion go ahead with this plan.

This wonderful species of a unique form and colours, is described to actually scare away ghosts. Not only that, it can physically attack them.

Although that term doesn't fit well together, it points that a bobcat can beat the living... unliving hell out of a ghost.

If this actually works, an additional bonus would be to shame Selia by beating her with just a wild feline.

That was one of the prime motivations of why Delion decided to go ahead with this plan, to shame the attacker would feel heavenly.

Now taming a bobcat can be dangerous, the males Delion are after, usually weigh around 10 kilos. So that's a 10 kilogram feline packed with weaponry.

It usually swipes its claws against humans who get too close, but the jaws are not to be underestimated considering the fact that these species consume flesh and bone.

Delion is specifically after a male bobcat because they don't really have younglings to feed, getting a female could possibly mean separating a mother from her kids but there are also more risk factors to it.

Once taming, he will bring the bobcat in Blenar and host an all nighter again. Perhaps the animal's territorial values will kick in and actually chase Selia out of here.

This job has to be done quick, traps have to be checked often so it means that Delion has to constantly be on the move! It isn't hard for these animals to bite through a rope.

...

"Easy... easy." Delion gives an attempt to cooperate, glancing at the bobcat who is hanging upside down on a tree, it's leg caught on the rope trap.

Looking at Delion, the animal starts to hiss, it's mustaches pulled back in tha soul rage of self defense, its palms swipping left and right with a prime goal to hit the human dumb enough to come close.

Delion's first goal was to possibly pet the cat, but that task is proving troublesome to tackle.

So Delion is going with the next logical option, meat. He has packed a few kilos of venison, obtained from the stock this man has in his own camp. We can't forget that Delion hunted for a long while.

Waving the meat in front of the animal, catching its attention a tad bit since sensing the smell of meat isn't exactly hard for a feline. Considering its size, it wouldn't be a surprise if this cat tasted Venison before, this one has recognized the smell and wants a bite!

Hissings reduced in a matter of a few minutes of attempted cooperation, Delion places the meat on the ground to let the animal pay more attention to that.

Grabbing the tree that's keeping this animal airborne, the detective gives a good attempt to drag it down so the bobcat can touch the ground and enjoy the soul taming food.

Using a rope to tie this tree to another, since there is no other way to get this feline's feet on the ground without it dashing away.

Throughout this process, Delion managed to take a peek at the animal's backside and found what he was looking for, balls. Yes, this one is a male cat.

Took about 7 hours to catch this guy, Delion has been up since the break of dawn.

Remembering what smaller felines love, the man sneaks his hand on top of the bobcat's hip and starts to rub.

Prrrrrrrrr...

Hisssss.....

Prrrrr...

The feline argued with itself, not knowing if he should either like or hate this invasion of personal space.

Grabbing another chunk of meat from his backpack and tossing it in front of the animal's face, gazing at the bobcat chew on the meat right after, Delion encourages. "It's okay big fella, I know you're hungry."

Slowly walking in front of the animal, trying to make sure that it won't leap forward and try to run away, Delion reaches for the first chunk of meat he dropped and pushes it closer to the bobcat, using a stick.
