7 Jingo

"What the actual fuck!" Delion shouted, and took a couple of steps back.

Afterwards he looked up and around as well to take a complete preview of his surroundings.

Seeing that there is no actual threat around, he shouts. "Who is this man?"

And taking a couple of steps forward after, trying to observe the corpse.

Chief Ambers became stuck on her spot, she just fixed her eyes on the corpse and tuned out everything Delion spoke, as if she went into shock.

He [Delion] repeated, "Ambers! Ambers! Snap the fuck out of it."

With his rage getting a bit bigger than his little fright towards this situation. He has handled many corpses before but this... It can't be something that even he can get used to.

Getting back to Ambers, she is still in shock. People who just died on their bed is something that she can handle, hell she even held a corpse on her arms nearly three hours ago.

But this... this is new to her. A man just silently dropped from the sky and possibly broke tens of bones before instant inevitable death, this is far too different.

Seeing that Ambers won't prove useful in this situation, Delion took another 360° glance of his surroundings to absolutely ensure that this area is safe, that there are no murderers closeby or possibly fleeing.

After, he approaches the corpse a little closer. This man's face does not ring a bell, he has these long brown hair and is fairly old in age.

A long untrimmed beard is covering most of his face, and blood started slowly dripping out of his mouth as well.

"Ambers! Snap out of it common!" He repeated again, and this time it finally worked.

Ambers is scared of how this situation turned out and does not want to approach the dead old man, but she at least can reply this time. "Is he... Is he dead?"

"He is definitely dead, nothing and no one could survive a fall like this. We are lucky that this case didn't turn out too bloody." Quite incapable of calming someone down, especially at a case like this.

It still didn't stop him from trying, "Breathe, take a deep breath and let it out."

Ambers still got her eyes focused on the corpse, but didn't tune Delion out this time and listened to his words.

She started breathing in and out, although progress small and slow she could sense her mind clearing up and her anxiety taming.

She got a chance to analyse the corpse's face once Delion turned him over and recognized the Victim. You would think she would be scared and cut her gaze but no.

The situation scares here more than the actual corpse, it's far too uncommon and that sound the body made when it hit the ground, tipped the bucket.

Finally solving a bit of the puzzle, she explains. "That's Jenny's father..."

With a sigh towards the ground, while still squatting he pointed out. "This makes shit more complex."

The silence stretched for nearly a minute, Delion tried to figure the puzzle out.

First Jenny's mother dies on her bed with signs of struggle and now Jenny's father silently drops down from a 100 foot tall Boulder.

At first guess, what this old man did appeals suicide. That's the best idea about it, since he didn't shout and cry his way down. The drop was completely silent and his life ended when he met the ground.

There is only one thing to do now and Delion did not fail to point it out. "We need to climb over this boulder and talk to the hunter Jingo, he is our only source of information about this."

Concerned about an obvious fact, she questions. "But what about the body?"

"It won't go anywhere and no animal around here can drag it that far under half an hour." Trying to find some sympathy for the corpse instead of just thinking about this puzzle, he adds. "We will carry the body to the village later, there your people can arrange a funeral."

"Poor Jenny." Ambers murmured, turned her back on the corpse and started walking towards the right side of this large boulder in aims of reaching the top of it. "She lost both of her parents now."

...

"Jingo!" Delion shouted, to alert the hunter of their presence.

Hunters have this instinct of attacking anything that appears out of a sudden, without even being sure what they are attacking. So for the sake of not getting a dagger across his chest, Delion alerted.

This Camp has 4 tents, there is a campfire in between the tents and there also are pieces of lumber sliced in half so people can sit on them. This shows that Jingo isn't the only hunter who visits this place.

"I'm over here." A semi thin male tone was heard across the camp, and one man came out of a tent.

Playing dumb, he greeted Jingo with a handshake and was direct enough to ask. "We're looking for this man... what's his name?" He asked while snapping his fingers.

"William." Ambers answered, this is the first time they used the actual name oddly. They referred to the corpse as, 'Jenny's Father'.

"Yes William, his wife died last night and Jenny told us that William comes here often, we need him there at least for the funeral." Delion continued to conceal the fact that William fell flat on the ground, in hopes of squeezing information out of Jingo.

Jingo knows Delion as a detective, so he instantly got the impression that this is an interrogation.

Jingo thought it as the best idea to be as careful with his words as possible in order to not get in unnecessary trouble. "Old William told me that he was heading home about half an hour ago, I went in my tent here to rest. I've been hunting for boars last night and will continue tonight."

"That's odd, we didn't see him anywhere through the way here. There isn't really an alternative road to the village from here." Ambers spoke, she's snapping out of that shock by the passing second.

Calm, with black sacks underneath his eyes and his tone drowsy. Jingo offered, "That's odd, do you need help looking for him?"
