6 Jack's peek

With a little bit of help from the big and well toned chief Ambers, Delion lifted the corpse to inspect if there are any signs of struggle.

It was made sure that there is a little hole on the bed right behind the corpse's neck, but what if there is more to it?

Just after giving the bed a quick glance, Delion expressed as he mumbled his way through the sentence. "I was afraid this was going to happen."

Not being able to see what he means since she is holding most of the corpse, practically in mid, Ambers asks. "Same signs huh?"

Scratching his head and letting out a sigh expressing confusion, he added. "I'm not sure how this would fit as something sexual anymore, if this woman was on her back than this hole on the bed right behind her buttocks does not make sense."

Looking at the two investigators, with confusion as well as anger rising up through her thoughts.

Hating this disgrace towards her mother, Jenny shouts. "The hell are you two talking about? My mother is a married woman and she was 71! And you two accuse her of cheating?"

"Calm down Jenny." Ambers spoke, and wanted to grab her shoulders too in order to assure that she doesn't unnecessarily run her mouth, but of course there is a corpse on Amber's hands.

But calming down doesn't seem like an option for Jenny here, she was calm until now and in some aspects lifeless but this wordplay triggered her for the worst.

She continues to shout, "No I will not calm down! Both of you get out! Leave this corpse at peace, you aren't proving any help."

...

"Well, that didn't play out the way I wanted it to." Delion pointed out the obvious, not in shame for himself but feeling shame for Jenny instead. "Her reactions were totally avoidable, not required."

Thinning her lips as she gave a fake half smile, signifying disagreement. Ambers decided to explain where the smart and perceptive Delion went wrong here, "You can't really talk about whether or not a corpse had sex before death."

Thinking her own words through here for a split second, she added. "Well you kinda can for such a situation but not in front of the family members."

It is clear that Ambers didn't really feel shy explaining this to Delion, if anything he should be shy. But whatever, getting back to the point.

Not caring what Jenny thinks about this, or what humiliation he caused her there. He directly explains, "What's done is done, the same signs of struggle are on this corpse's bed. So we could be dealing with the same murderer but for now we need to get to that hunting camp and talk to Jenny's father and Jingo too."

...

"Now where exactly is this hunting Camp?" Ambers asked, they have been walking for an hour now and rolled about 5 kilometers away from [village] Blenar.

She has noticed one thing throughout the road, Delion sure prefers to walk fast.

It almost looks like as if he's running, she supposed that it's because of his recent hobby as a hunter.

"Jingo has a weird taste, terrible choices really." Afterwards pointing at what can be considered as a local landmark, Delion explained. "He has settled over that big boulder over there, wind blows on you from all directions. It really is a terrible place to stay at night."

The boulder he has pointed towards is indeed big, although from this distance it looks small since it is practically swallowed by the forest around it.

It's about 4 more kilometers away from where the two Investigators are standing.

Trying to joke around, she spoke. "Now I understand why you're walking quickly."

A bit confused, he asked. "And why's that?"

"Because that boulder is like 10 kilometers away. By the way most here call it Jack's peek, I don't know why you as a hunter don't know that." She became very informative it is certain.

A bit too talkative considering what pay Delion accepts in exchange for his help in this village. But I suppose Ambers is just happy that there is a highly skilled professional handling this case.

Not happy that he got corrected here, the detective adds. "Jack's peek, well that's where we are going now."

Afterwards he decides to explain another fact, "And the reason why I'm walking fast is because I want to return before nightfall, the murderer seems to attack only at night."

...

Over an hour later they finally reach Jack's peek and comprehend how this boulder is massive.

It stands over 100 feet tall, over 300 feet wide and its backside is completely submerged into the big mountain behind it who might be standing over 2,000 feet tall.

There really isn't a proper way to measure it right now, but it's big! Wild boars likely have occupied this mountain.

There are a bit of trees on the sides of the boulder, but there are mostly bushes and a bit of flowers too.

While right in front of the boulder there are a seemingly endless amount of small rocks who have fallen down because of the many many minor avalanches coming from this same boulder.

The boulder has a lot of cracks, and smaller portions of it are on the road as if someone large giant came along and cut the boulder's head off with a swipe.

Okay, bad example but it should bring a good definition.

In one glance it seems like this boulder is slowly falling apart but at the same time it feels like mother nature wanted for people to form a road here and witness the gorgeous scenery.

"This place never fails to impress me, it's absolutely beautiful." The large lady [Ambers] expressed.

You would think that considering her size and strength she would be as grumpy as Delion. But no, when she isn't telling people to calm the fuck down, she is a ray of sunshine.

"It's nice but I always get dizzy when looking up." Not wanting to explain much about this little weakness, he got back to the task. "We still need to climb around this boulder, the easiest way is through that right side. There is a lumberjack's path there, so it practically is an open road."

Right at the moment when Delion finished his sentences, they heard a strong hit against the ground after.

As if a rock suddenly separated from this boulder and made its way to the ground without causing any noise along the way.

They both turned around at the same time and noticed that what fell down wasn't a rock... It's a body.
