63 Truth Revealed

Looking at her son Beatrice let out a deep sigh, "I'm guessing you found a book about myself, unless you had someone around her to tell you at least their names."

Confirming his mother's assumptions, "Yes, I found a biography about yourself in the academy library, but it wasn't by accident. I actually found out about your fame through Umbra when she briefly mentioned it to me. While the book itself told me some things like the passing of my grandmother it didn't give me specifics. It also doesn't tell me why you avoid the topic so much along with father and the others here at the residence."

Beatrice was letting out a lot of sighs today but these heavy conversations are not really helping all that much. "Since you know about some things I guess there's no need to keep hiding it, what do you want to know?"

"Is there anything else that you know about grandfather's family because the book just mentioned that there wasn't anything on them other than that they were a declining family with only him remaining. I was wondering if he himself told you anything about them?"

Hearing the question about her father Beatrice twitched a little, "He never told me about the specifics about the family. Mother might have know some things but she never told me before her death.", Beatrice paused for a second, "After she passed I did manage to find out more about the Coca family."

Sagar was prepared to pay more close attention to what his mother was about to say."Before I tell you anything though you must know the circumstances behind her death.", Sagar nodded allowing Beatrice to continue, "From the book you read it must have told you that both of them disappeared one day and whenever my mother was found she was already dead.", Beatrice breathed out to collect herself a bit, "It turned out that she was actually killed by my father."

While Sagar was bit shocked he couldn't say he was too surprised, ever since he read the biography on his mother he's had a lot of time to think about the events told within it. One of his guesses was that Antonio somehow or another lured Anne somewhere and murdered her for unknown reasons. It wasn't too concrete when he came up with it because he couldn't come up with a good reason that Antonio would kill her but now hearing from his mother about it he figured she not only found out about this fact but also the reason why he did such a thing.

"At first I didn't believe my father could do such a thing, so I heavily disagreed with the family at the time, but as time went on and I found out more about the Coca family and even it from the person himself."

In the book it was mentioned that Antonio was never seen after his disappearance, only Anne's body was found but Beatrice was saying that she eventually met Antonio again. Sagar also wasn't sure how long ago that was or whether or what happened to Antonio after but he guessed that Beatrice would eventually get there.

"You see for the longest time the specialized magic of the Coca family was completely unknown but it wasn't from them hiding it for so long. Rather it's the fact that they didn't actually have a specialized magic but rather a unique one that required specific requirement to be met before the magic could be awakened. Those apart of the Coca family usually have poor talent unless they can access to their unique magic and this applied to my father as well. Before he disappeared he was only at the level of a Intermediate and had been at that level for years with no sign of breaking through. You could even say that I had developed that trait of the family as well but with hard work along with the fact that my mother had amazing talent herself helped me reach where I'm at now."

Sagar guessed that he didn't inherit this aspect of the Coca family or maybe he did and the system helped mitigate this fact but it might crop up with his sister whenever she begins her own training. In a way the gift that Sagar gave her might be more help to Aquilia than he thought it would be but that's for the future to see.

"Anyway a requirement to unlock the unique magic of the Coca family it requires a sacrifice and the sacrifice itself must have a certain level of strength. Without the sacrifice having a specific level of strength the chances of the ceremony being successful and the chance to unlock the unique magic decreases significantly. If the ceremony fails or you fail to unlock the magic you suffer a heavy backlash usually resulting in death, this is what lead to my father being the only Coca family member left.", Beatrice started reminiscing bitterly while tightly clenching her fist, "Before any of this happened you could say he was a great husband and father, he always took care of both me and my mother with both of us trusting him a great deal, but who knew that that was simply a facade he took on so he could trick my mother."

From his 'Specialized and Unique Magic' class, Sagar learned that there were unique elements that could only be used whenever certain conditions were met. In most cases the heavier the requirements the more powerful the magic. While requiring a sacrifice couldn't really be considered a harsh requirement but the fact that the sacrifice also needs to be of a certain level of power to be successful else you would die instead. It must be known that Anne herself was quite a powerful individual being comparable to the strongest of Saints in the Griffin Empire along with her being in line of leading the Drak family speaks volumes of her power.

"The unique magic of the Coca family belongs to the devour element allowing them to absorb whatever they desire and add it to their strength. My mother died whenever I was nine and it's also when my father awakened the devour element. When I met the man again it had already been eleven years since I had last seen him, can you guess the condition I found him in at the time?"

For some reason Beatrice was asking Sagar this question so it must have some kind of correlation to what he already knows. If Beatrice met Antonio eleven years after his disappearance then she must have been twenty at the time. The only notable thing that happened at that age was the event with that powerful creature she defeated earning her the fame she has today. She can't mean that the creature that she fought was actually Antonio originally.

Seeing the look of realization on Sagar's face Beatrice continued with her story, "Yes, my father was actually the creature I had defeated all those years ago. That's one of the terrifying things about the devour element it allowed someone with almost no talent and was stuck at the Intermediate rank to almost reach the Legend rank. If I hadn't gone out there along with your father and the other Silverback's to eliminate him at the time he could have possible wiped out the Empire."

It was an absolutely terrifying thing, it must be known that the king himself, at least by public records, is the only one in the Empire who is at the Legend rank. If Antonio reached Legend rank than it would have lead to the massacre of the Empire's people and who knows if the king would even be able to beat Antonio at the time or if he would come out the battle alive.

"My father originally just wanted to revive is family status but his mind ended up being corroded by devour element and it even transformed him into a monster. I only managed to kill him by using a spell that made derived from the 'Nova Sphere' spell but it not only drained every single bit of the mana I had but also all of the condensed mana I had into my core. I honestly didn't expect to survive but I did with a price but either way I don't regret what I did not only for my mother but also for the sake of others, I had to clean up my families mess."

Beatrice went to go sit on her bed looking as she was completely drained energy. Sagar went over to her and sat down, "I'm sorry I had you tell me that mother, but I'm also glad you did."

With his piece said Sagar left the room to leave his mother alone for the time being.
