9 Saber

It took Sagar about thirty minutes to get back into the range of the village. He didn't really encounter any other beasts on the way back but that's due to the fact that the beast he was carrying wasn't really bleeding and that whenever he sensed something he actively avoided it.

As for the wound on his arm he had already healed it with 'dia', he also cleaned off the remaining blood with a piece of his torn clothes. During the entire day that was the first real wound he's suffered as all the other injuries he had before his encounter with this beast just left some bruises on him but they disappeared whenever he healed his cut.

To enter the actual village he had to pass by some guards that were standing on the outskirts of it. There were some that say him leaving earlier but they already rotated their shift some time ago and now the ones in their place are different people.

Regardless they still let him in without really questioning him as people knew about him and his family. All the people in Mountain Village have lived here for most of their lives. Some might leave but they'll come back eventually and their treated as they were before. The only exceptions were Sagar and his family as neither of his parents had lived here previously. During their travels as mercenaries they came to this village after completely a mission that wasn't too far from the village. His parents liked the atmosphere along with the scenery that they decided that when they retired they would move over here.

The villagers treated guests pretty warmly but when it actually comes down to actually living it's a different story especially if you didn't originate from it. They treated his family with mostly indifference with them not really bothering to get acquainted with them. Sagar himself didn't really care about it because even with their indifference they still treated them fairly whenever they came to buy things or do things in the village.

Sagar made his way to the little trade center that was located towards the center of the village. It's where almost everything was sold for coin, of course you could go to other stores or locations but the trade center bought pretty much anything as long as it had some value. By the time he got to the trade center there was hardly anybody there as it was soon going to close for the day. Sagar hurriedly made his way inside and went to one of the counters where a man was finishing his work for the day. Seeing someone enter at such a time the man was slightly annoyed but put on a smile while welcoming the customer.

He was shocked to see a child carrying a beast inside as most of the children in the village were usually playing, hardly any went out to hunt but that was with their father or something not seeming by themselves like this child. When he got a better look at the child he noticed that he was the kid of the couple who moved to the village a few years back. Besides what they look like nobody really knew anything about them other than the fact that the mother was crippled and the father was constantly away for work, coming back to visit every so often.

The man thought since nothing was known about the family that maybe they had some methods of hunting or something. Either way he had to give the kid a good amount of coin as the body of the beast was in decent condition and was fairly powerful from what he could see.

Making his way out of the trade center Sagar decided to go see if the blacksmith's was open because he now had enough coin to buy a decent weapon of some kind. When he arrived it looked like the blacksmith was still working hard and would probably continue to work for quite some time. Entering the place he saw a little girl about his age at the counter but because of her size her head was barely peaking out with only her eyes and forehead could be seen.

Walking up to the counter Sagar asked, "Excuse me, are you running the shop right now?"

The little girl quickly responded while raising her hand up excitedly,"Yes, my mama stepped out for a bit and asked me to watch the store for a while!"

Smiling Sagar asked another question, "Well can I look around at the weapons here?"

To this the little girl shook her head up and down speedily. Getting confirmation Sagar started walking around looking at the variety of weapons along with their prices. He spent a good amount of time trying to decide as he still didn't really know what kind of weapon he wanted. He simply wanted something to fulfill the requirements for some of his techniques but there were a lot of weapons that did so. Now he had to decide entirely on preference but he didn't know what that was as he never wielded a weapon before. To help with the process he decided to pick some up to feel their weight and move them around a bit to see how they felt when used to attack.

Eventually he decided that he was going to get a simple saber he found. The weight felt right and he felt pretty comfortable waving it around so being satisfied with his decision he went back to the counter giving the coin required for the saber.

The little girl saw what he picked and knew the price of the weapon in question. It just took her a bit to count out the coin while confirming it matched the price. Seemingly satisfied with her work she put her hands on her his standing proudly as if she was praised by someone. When she noticed that Sagar was leaving she started waving goodbye to him and he returned the gesture.

Now it was time for him to go back home to his mother.
