26 Passing Time

For the next week Sagar just mainly spent his time training or watching over his sister when his mother was busy. They could have gotten some workers to look after Aquilia but Sagar told her it was fine for him to do so.

As for Beatrice she was given back her position of pseudo elder once again since she had recovered her strength. James would have granted her the position of elder but all their spots were filled at the moment. Sagar wondered why they had a certain amount of slots for the title of elder so his mother told him it just boiled down to what you were in charge of and the resources you would receive from the family. The pseudo elders had to work under an elder which from what his mother has told him was the oldest lady out of the group of elders, which he found out was actually his great-grandmother.

As for watching over Aquilia well she mostly acted however she wanted most of the time. Sagar didn't really mind it maybe except when she started crying for their mother so he would have to figure out some way to calm her down. Sagar wasn't sure if he had siblings in his past life but he had the feeling he did as he did feel some familiarity in his care for Aquilia. When he did have to watch over her it was mainly just in the morning and somewhat in the afternoon, then his mother would have usually finished her duties for the day and would return to her room.

Following Sagar would go to the training grounds or to the library to see what they had there. In the library they had a good abundance of books that Sagar unfortunately couldn't go through at total leisure as he wouldn't have enough time too. He mainly looked over the books about the explosion element along with the other books that James had told him about.

He would then go to the training grounds and practice what he read about there. As for his physical training he would do some in his but that's about it because he decided to focus on his magic for a bit and not doing his usual physical training for a few weeks won't hurt him.

Today he was practicing a sort of movement technique using explosions that he read about. Usually mages bodies aren't able to withstand even mini-explosions going directly against their bodies as it would usually lead to something becoming dislocated or broken but since Sagar had a strong body he was able to use this technique quite well.

All it really involved was forming small explosion around how you wanted to move. For example if Sagar wanted to jump even higher than he would usually be capable of he would form some explosions at his feet to help propel himself higher. He could even double jump or move in midair with such a thing so Sagar saw it as a chance for him to become more agile and mobile in combat if he learned such a technique.

Going off James remarks Sagar thought there would be a good number of techniques developed by those of the Drak family that had strong bodies but there were only three including his great-grandfather's and the movement technique. Besides the explosion martial arts the last technique wasn't something Sagar could just practice freely.

It was a sort of self-detonation move that gathered the explosion element to gather all around your body which you would then cause an explosion of great force that depending on how much you used would effect the power of the technique. Sagar thought the move sounded insane and wasn't sure how his ancestor even came up with the thing. According to the book it's possible to actually survive if you have a strong enough body but you would be greatly injured so Sagar would probably only use it as a sort of last resort.

As for the explosion martial arts that his great-grandfather came up with it it was almost like a combination of the tow other techniques. Instead of gathering the explosion element all over the body and causing it to go wild, you gather the element on whatever part of the body you were going to strike with, compressing it. You would then release the moment that you would actually land the hit having you time when to release it at the correct time otherwise it's just not as effective. This was the most basic and fundamental move of the marital arts so it would have to be learned before moving onto anything else complex.

There were some other people at the training ground but they didn't really pay attention to Sagar who was practicing some weird movements. After a while another person walked onto the training ground as if she was looking around for someone when she spotted Sagar she started walking over to him.

Noticing a girl around his age walking towards him Sagar stopped what he was doing to make she didn't indirectly get hit by one of the explosions he cast off. Reaching him she put on a smile and started talking to him, "Hello you must be Sagar, my grandpa has told me a bit about you so I wanted to come meet you."

Hearing her he wondered who her grandfather was but looking at her and her demeanor he could roughly guess who it was. To respond back he said, "Well nice to meet you as well. You seem to know my name but I don't know your's."

She rubbed the back of her head slightly and told him, "Ah sorry it kind of slipped my mind but my name is Talia. Now that introductions are out of the way I believe my grandpa also mentioned that you were going to attend Skoll Academy?"

I nodded in confirmation to her question which she followed up with, "That's great I'm also going there so if there was someone from the family going as well then it'll help me get used to the atmosphere. Even though we don't know each other much but we got a bit of time before we have to go over anyway."

Hearing her say that she was also going to Skoll Academy Sagar decided to see what level she was at. She had decent control over her energy that it took some time to read it but Sagar felt that she was at the Expert level and has been at it for at least a couple of months.

"Do you mind if I stay here a bit and talk to you for a bit?", she asked with a curious look on her face.

Sagar didn't have a problem so he allowed to stay but also told her to keep a good distance away from him. Even though she could probably defend herself just fine considering her level Sagar would rather not take the chance in where she could get hurt.

So for the next hour or so Talia and Sagar talked and got to know each other better before Sagar was going to go back to his room where Talia told him that she was going elsewhere for the time being.

Sagar just returned to his room to mull over what he's learned from applying his technique which he then planned to do some physical training for the rest of the day.
