31 Knowledge and Power

It only took about thirty minutes for all the seats within the testing building to be filled out. When everyone was sitting and waiting for the tests to be passed something suddenly started to happen.

All the forms that were filled out when a person sat at their seat slowly sank into the desks they were at. Then both the chair and desk started to slide around the ground in an ordered manner. Everybody's desk and chairs did so in a fast manner that brought a weird feeling on those who were sitting down.

After about a minute of everything moving around they finally stopped and everyone was in a different position than they were originally. From what Sagar could guess he figured that there was some kind of device or formation that processed all the forms filled out by the people here, it would then reorganized everyone alphabetically.

The experience was a pretty interesting one almost like riding a roller coaster than can move in almost any direction and without any sort of seat belt to fasten yourself to. Others didn't enjoy it as much as Sagar as they quickly got up from their seats and tried to find a location to throw their breakfast into.

When everyone was sitting back down something else started to happen to their desks with a small number of papers coming out of it. This was actually the test that they would be taking. Sagar was wondering what the point of the previous actions were for if everything was going to be coming in and out of these desks. Maybe there are certain things it needs to do so that everything in orderly but either way he needed to get started on the test.

Before he could get started on the test a voice rang out from the ceiling, "Everyone has three hours to finish this test. If you finish early one of the moderators outside will direct you to where the power test will take place."

With the voice finishing what he was saying everyone began to work on their test. Since he would only have two hours to finish this test Sagar chose to figure out how many questions were in it exactly, as the voice didn't mention it, and to help him pace himself better. Looking through it the test had a total of fifty questions with all of them being required to be answered with a written answer. Luckily most of them weren't too difficult or required a long answer. The only exception would be the last ten questions.

These questions required a somewhat through answer and would take at least an hour alone to answer. Either way Sagar managed to work his way through the test at a good pace eventually finishing two hours later. By now some people had already finished and had moved on to the next test. Looking around Sagar found that Talia was still taking her test so he would just wait outside for her instead of moving to the next test.

Walking outside the building he still asked one of the moderators where to go so that he knows where to go once Talia finished. Once he was done asking he found a tree nearby to sit under. He only had to wait thirty minutes before Talia came outside.

They both went to another building this time it was more of an auditorium with what seemed to be several of the staff for the school in the center of it. Talia and Sagar found somewhere to sit while they waited for the previous test to finish and for this one to began.

As it turns out even when everyone was finished with the previous test they still needed to wait another thirty minutes before the beginning of the power test. It was probably because the staff testing them needed the information from the form that everyone filled out.

Eventually when they did get started they would call up people in order to test the amount of power that they had. The way they would do so is by having the person place their hand upon a sphere that several of the staff had. The sphere then then emit a certain amount of light depending on how much power the person touching it had.

Most of the people going up at least had the power of the Intermediate level with some being at the Expert as well. Well by saying some would be slightly exaggerating as there was only one so far but if you include Talia who had not gone up yet than it would be slightly more so.

Whenever the person was done with the test they would be moved to the side so that everyone can move to the last test together. Talia went up finishing up quickly and showing that she was another Expert level among this batch. From what Sagar could see there would probably be three more seeing as how they weren't even half way through testing everyone.

Of course Sagar could try to feel their level himself but he didn't wish to do so in case anyone found it rude and would try to start some kind of ruckus.

When he was called up the staff member that was in charge of him asked him a few things. If mainly had to do with the form he filled out which included his last name which was one of a warrior family and there was also the place filled out with him being a mage which to the staff member didn't match up that well.

Looking at the kid as well you could see that he was a warrior, he even carried a saber on him, so the staff member was making sure that the kid filled out everything correctly. The kid himself said that there was no mistake so there was nothing the staff member could do except have the boy place his had on the measuring sphere.

The weird thing about that was that when he did so the sphere would become clouded and not emit any light of any kind. The staff member had never seen anything like this happen so he figured that the measuring sphere became faulty and switched to a new one. He had some below where he was sitting so he just grabbed one and gave it to the boy, but seeing the same result again he thought it might not be because of the sphere but rather the boy.

In cases where they had no measuring spheres to use the staff must feel out the power themselves and while it may not be as accurate as the sphere it was better than nothing. Grabbing the child's arm he sent some his energy within it to fell it out but something even stranger happened.

The energy he sent almost seemed to disappear into a fog of some sorts making it hard for him not only to feel his own energy but making it impossible to feel out the power of the child. This was really weird so he was about to get someone else to oversee the child but the kid himself stopped him telling him that he would show him how powerful he was.

There usually wouldn't be any problem with that but such use of energy usually messed with the measuring spheres they were using. It was fine with the amount of energy they were unconsciously releasing but once they started to release it normally it would cause them to read different results.

The staff member didn't want to cause a commotion over this so he just asked the child what level he was at hoping he would be truthful about it. Hearing the kid say that he was at the Intermediate level the staff member believed him as no one here was below that level, either way there would be more proof during the next test and if the kid was lying then he would be more effected by it then him.

Finishing with his test Sagar made his way to Talia where they continued to wait for everything to finish so that they could move on to the next test.
