61 Interrogation

'This is utterly ridiculous', is what the boss thought whenever the fight against their target started taking a turn for the worse. The investigation squad knew that the target was clearly hiding some of the things he was capable of. They felt like besides his unknown element and the explosion element he would probably be only able to use one other element. In the end they weren't too far off but what made the boss of the investigation squad think such a thought was something else entirely.

Their target could use internal energy.

Now by itself that wouldn't be abnormal or out of the norm, no what made this situation ridiculous was the fact that their target can use internal energy along with mana. The boss only knew from books he read when he was younger that there were only four people in the history of Mellem that managed to use both internal energy and mana. The boss couldn't believe that his luck lead him to attacking the one who would go down as the fifth person capable of this feat.

At first the boss couldn't believe he eyes when he saw the target use internal energy to strike out at one of the investigation squads mages but then when he used it again right after he almost felt his soul leave his body. Even though he freaked out a bit he tried to not let it get to him only trying to focus on eliminating the target and then lose his mind about it later, but who knew that once the target started using his internal energy along with his mana fighting him seemed impossible.

First one of the warriors tried to ambush him which lead to him being taken out by a spell the target retaliated with but it gave the others time to try to figure something out. Both their plant mage and water mage were going to try to constrict him giving the boss and the other warrior an opportunity to land an attack on him. The plant mage was going to use the spell he had used before to try and trap him while the water mage made illusions using his element to try to trick the target into attacking them. While the plant mage failed because of the targets ridiculous speed the water mage did and our lightning mage managed to launch an attack while he was tied down as well.

The target was severally damaged but he didn't seem to pay it any attention so before he could do anything else the boss and the other rushed him while they would receive support from their mages. This is where it all went down hill as the target found the location of their water mage and immediately killed him with some strange spell, but it was made out of the strange element he could use. Then while they were shocked he finished off their other mage as well not showing any mercy at all killing him by blasting off his head with the same spell the other warrior was hit with.

The boss and the final warrior tried their best to attempt to finish off the target with the other wounded warrior joining the fray eventually but it was all for naught. What terrified the boss even more was that while fighting the target he realized that the target's internal energy actually had that strange element mixed with it. Not only was the target capable of using this strange element, using both internal energy along with mana, but he also conducted elemental fusion with said strange element.

Now the target had captured the four of us who remained alive, breaking the remaining mages mana core and crippling the rest of our energy and was torturing information out of us. He displayed another strange element of his that allowed him to lift us up with but a wave of his hand which also allowed him to turn and twist different parts of our bodies as he pleased. As were part of the investigation squad we knew a good amount of things about our organization that shouldn't be told to others outside of it. Those part of the squads undergo specific training so that they wouldn't break under any sort of torture, but this monster had his methods displaying that he also knew healing spells just to heal us so that we wouldn't die under his questioning.

The boss was too afraid to look in this monster's eyes as he felt that he would fall into an infinite abyss, not being able to escape it's clutches, once he does. The target was torturing the other three before he got to me as he had learned that I was the boss of this group from the mage. He was only able to get information pertaining to our mission and what we were doing out here before the other three lost all semblance of themselves. He ended their lives once they were of no more use to him by simply flicking his hand resulting in the person's head being twisted beyond belief.

After Sagar finished interrogating the other three he moved onto the boss who turned pale enough to believe that he was anemic. The other three told him why they were after him and he was sort of glad that they were solely after him rather than after his family and friends as well. They didn't really help themselves after that when they declared that they were here to find out what happened to a bandit group they had hired to capture some people, but Sagar had to admit that they were quite resilient. He used his psychokinesis to bend and twist their various body parts and organs while also healing them so that they wouldn't die from their injuries, even then they only told him the bare minimum before they were completely unable to speak because of the torture.

He left the boss for last so that he can not only witness but also hear what would happen if the tried to not answer his questions. It seemed that he made the right choice looking at the face of the boss now, who refused to look him in the eyes. Sagar used psychokinesis to forcefully turn the boss' head towards him whose face would have become even paler if his skin allowed it.

Slowly Sagar spoke, "While I got a good amount of information from your friends it wasn't the main thing I wanted from you.", he paused slowly increasing the amount of pressure around the boss' neck to try and get his point across, "What is the organization you work for and where are they located exactly?"

The boss started sweating profusely hearing the expected question, trying to overcome his fear of this monster within a boy's body, but Sagar wasn't going to let it slide seeing the boss so close to breaking. Sagar changed the area of the pressure from the boss' head to his arm where he gradually increased the output of power for each second the boss didn't talk where it would eventually lead to the entire arm being turned into pulp.

Not being able to take it anymore the boss finally broke, "WE WORK F-", but he wasn't able to finish his sentence as a rune like shape lit up on his chest. Following the activation of the rune the boss' body burst into flames which lead to the entire body turning into dust.

Sagar figured that this so called organization that they work for had some kind of fail safe in case someone tried to reveal something about them, Sagar just wasn't sure what information would trigger it. The one's with this rune placed on them might not even be aware of it's presence either as it seemed that the boss or any of his comrades knew about it otherwise why else would they endure the torture he put them through. Either way just with this and the previous information Sagar had some idea about the organization rather than just running on some guesses.

Sagar turned to the other bodies of the squad that were left and used some fire to turn them into dust along with their boss. He couldn't really do anything about the destroyed terrain from their battle so Sagar was going to leave it as is. As he was about to make his way back to Verreaux, a voiced rang out from the forest.

"You sure are cruel boy.", the voice seemed almost amused.

It didn't take much for Sagar to realize that the one talking to him and who might have watched his entire exchange with the squad. Out of the forest walked out Simon Drak actually wearing a top which is different from how Sagar's seen him till now. Speaking out in a cold manner Sagar told the old man, "I have to be, otherwise they wouldn't talk. If I didn't find out any sort of prevalent information it could lead to the ones I care about being put in danger. I rather be known as a monster rather than allowing something happen to them that was easily preventable."

Simon chuckled a little and walked up to Sagar giving him another one of his pats, "Well, I think you handled the situation just fine. I'm just curious what other people would say seeing this side of you considering how you usually act."

Sagar twitched a little hearing Simon but payed no attention to it, knocking the old man's hand away from his shoulder, "Anyway, why did you follow me?"

Raising his hands like an innocent bystander Simon answered, "What? I can't see whether or not my great-grandson was going to be okay after feeling people with malicious attentions following him."

Smiling a bit allowing Simon's antics to change his mood, Sagar followed up, "Alright, you had a good reason to follow me. Let's just head back to the residence before my parents wonder where I'm at."

Simon nodded and followed Sagar on his way back to Verreaux.
