66 Gammel's Curiosity

'You mean to tell me you've been connected to the Amala Network this entire time?', this was something quite serious so Sagar needed to know.

[User is correct in his assumption. Ever since the system first became activated for User's use it has been connected to the Amala Network. How does the User think he came to acquire his spells and technique, they must come from somewhere.]

It very vague but Sagar would just have to roll with it for the time being. All he could do now was hope that whatever demon that managed to worm itself out of the Amala Network wasn't too powerful or at least not powerful enough to defeat the staff present here. Even the it would be a tough battle with fighting a demon as they might have magic that was completely foreign to those in Mellem.

That night Sagar had a lot of trouble falling asleep simply worrying about the trouble brewing about. He was eventually able to fall asleep by continuously making preparations in his mind or thinking of ways to solve his current problem and his brain eventually tired.

The system didn't say where the demon would specifically appear just that it would be somewhere near Sagar to take care of whatever business it wanted. Sagar didn't ask what sort of business the demon would want as the system itself didn't know but he could guess why a demon emerging from the Amala Network would want to meet him. After all in Mellem he was the only one with a connection to the Amala Network otherwise wouldn't the demon have the possibility of emerging elsewhere besides near him. You could also say that there were other points of connection in Mellem it was just that Sagar was unlucky.

Waking in the morning Sagar got dressed and made his way over to where they would be starting their training for the day. He didn't bother waking Klaus as he felt that he would be able to get up himself and make it time and Sagar wanted to start his own training before other people arrived. It was mostly physical training as whenever the staff would arrive they would train the students in things that would cater to their needs. For the most part mages wouldn't be trained physically instead they would work on control their mana or casting spells. Their control would help them with using more high level or dangerous spells and also allow a mage to not use as much energy to cast a certain spell. As for the casting spells training well it would help with the speed at which you would be able to cast spells reducing them as much as possible to make them more usable in active combat and similar to control it'll help reduce the amount of energy you use.

Mages aren't necessarily bared from training their bodies in any kind of way it's just not going to be a main focus. Even when the actual training begins it was scheduled that everyone would participate in some running and some other basic excising.

When Sagar was going to began he felt that someone was behind him, who for some reason was remaining silent. Turning to look at who exactly it was he saw an old man staring back at him, of course it was Gammel who Sagar had been constantly weary of ever since he met the old man. "Good morning Gammel, do you need something from me?"

The old man let out a hearty laugh, "Well, makes you assume I need something from you lad?"

"You standing behind me silently is one of my main reasons or at least reason enough to question why you're just standing behind me rather than doing something else?"

"Why do you seem to think I have some sort of bad intentions towards you? I don't seem to recall doing anything that would justify this sort of reaction?", Gammel almost sounded hurt by Sagar's statements and assumption.

Sagar straightened out his tone and became a bit more serious, "Enough with beating around the bush old man we both know what exactly I mean."

"Nothing gets by you I see, just like Simon in that respect I guess.", hearing Simon's name Sagar wasn't too surprised that Gammel at least knew the man but it seems that Gammel was also quite friendly with him as well. "You know lad, ever since I saw you and I wasn't able to get an exact read on your energy I've been trying to figure out what exactly it is. Who knew that after you returned from your break Simon would approach me and ask if I knew you, he even gave me a hint about what the deal is with your energy. Unfortunately he didn't tell me much besides that it was normal that I couldn't tell what it was as he had seen it used first hand and still wasn't able to figure out what it was."

Sagar continued to listen to the old man ramble but he was able to get the gist of what he was getting at. Sagar was able to figure out some things about Gammel as well from his rambling like how familiar he was with Simon and maybe an inkling about his strength as Sagar felt that it was immense, he just wasn't sure what level it was at. Sagar also guess that the old man couldn't exactly pinpoint Sagar's deepest secrects rather he was curious about the Almighty element that he was able to utilize if it was just that then Sagar didn't really have much to worry about.

"Anyway lad, I was just wondering if I could request a favor from you. That favor being if you would be willing to show me a spell using that weird element of your's?"

While being a bit amused, Sagar answered, "And why should I do that? I don't exactly use it freely as you could see and Simon got lucky when he witnessed it himself so why do you expect a different result?"

Shrugging his shoulders, "It was worth a try, it's not like I'll lose anything from asking you about it and since you're reluctant to show me than I'll be on my way. Goodbye for now, I expect to see you and the others when you come over for lunch."

Sagar wasn't able to retort before the old man disappeared from sight at a fast enough speed that Sagar wasn't able to really tell when he moved. Sagar just went back to what he was doing before he started talking with the old man but he wasn't able to do as much as he was originally planning to do before everybody else started showing up along with the staff.

When the training officially started and the warriors started doing a different regiment than the mages, Klaus almost dragged off Sagar mainly because most of the time he considered Sagar a warrior rather than a mage. Klaus wouldn't be wrong as Sagar could be considered both a warrior and mage but he had to keep up appearances and it wasn't exactly allowed for him to leave his other training either.

When the training was officially over it was already late in the afternoon so most students went off to go eat. Others gathered their peers to participate in some games for the time being which Sagar and the others also joined to have some fun. Only Umbra was a bit reluctant to join but that was mainly because she preferred to do things with people she was familiar with rather than strangers. Under the other's instance she finally joined up with them and even forgot about her own doubts during the game and became very immersed with it as well.

When it was time to make their way back to beds everyone was easily able to fall asleep because of the various activities that they had participated in during the day, well all besides Sagar. He was still worrying about the demon who would be making it's way over to Mellem and no matter what he did it would always start creeping up from the back of his mind. He decided to get some fresh air outside and try to relax a bit to try to give himself some kind of relief.

The staff wouldn't want students to go out of their resting areas during the night but if caught the students wouldn't get into too much trouble just a scolding at most. Sagar was able to use his Almighty element to his advantage as normally nobody was able to sense making mostly undetectable by normal means. Finding somewhere some empty grass to lay down on Sagar plopped down his body letting his thoughts wonder to something other than anything about the demon. As time passed he eventually heard a familiar voice call out to him, "Well isn't this quite funny."

The person who spoke to laid sat down next to him allowing Sagar to see who exactly it was. Of course the only one who would be able to make that sort of statement in this sort of situation would be Umbra.
