69 Emerging Demon

It didn't take long before someone from the staff showed up in front of all the gathered students with an announcement. "Students today we'll start the week long outing where you will go out into the plains, fight beasts and survive to the best of your ability. As you were told before you can either go alone or into groups just make sure you're prepared for anything if you choose to go alone. Also make sure that you have some things packed away as you are going to stay out of the camp for this following week, so if you don't anything to help you set up for the night I suggest you go and get it.If you run into trouble that you're not able to deal with escape or have someone make their way over to inform one of us to go out and support. Other than that there's not much else to tell you all so you can start heading out."

When the staff member finished talking all the other students rushed out of the camp grounds in different directions. Klaus headed in another direction away from the other three but because they had already had this discussion nobody stopped him. When handing him the communication crystal Sagar explained the basic signals that the girls and him use and if he does run into trouble. He practiced using it a bit while they were still waiting to be dismissed and was able to use it quite well as it was simple to use.

Sagar was in the lead as the two girls knew he had the most experience doing this sort of thing but Sagar wouldn't be leading all the time. Even though the girls have gone out hunting before they didn't really have too much experience with it so eventually Sagar would stop leading them and have one of them do it instead. Sagar will still help guide them but he wouldn't baby them allowing them to make some mistakes plus he was confidant that they would be able to handle whatever they encountered. If something to powerful approached them he would know right away and he would make the proper moves at that point.

Sagar would also help them with surviving off of whatever beasts they are able to hunt along with showing them anything that was edible from around them. While Sagar was training in the Forest at Mountain Village, he never stayed there overnight but he still packed some things that would be able to help them while they were sleeping. They were still going to have someone be on watch while they were sleeping as Sagar didn't want to rely too heavily on other things.Klaus wouldn't have the luxury to have other's to look after him while he sleeps but Sagar was sure that Klaus made whatever preparations that he needed to be able to survive while out here.

After moving about for about thirty minutes the group was able to find a beast who was wondering about on it's own. It was a a decently sized stag with dark lines of fur covering different parts of it's body, with hits antlers standing prominently with six points jutting out of them and it was at the Expert level which none of the group would have trouble with so they decided to just have one of them handle it, which Umbra volunteered to do so. It was mostly so that they would be able to get some meat from the creature and most of Talia's spells would damage the beast greatly along with Sagar wanting the girls to actually fight something rather than him.

Umbra approached the stag which had noticed her walking towards her and go into a fighting stance. It either knew it couldn't escape it's current predicament or it couldn't tell how strong Umbra was and underestimated her. Umbra was cautiously making her way over to the stag making sure to keep track of what it was doing in case it tried to suddenly attack. Her caution payed off as the stag lowered it's horns down toward her as if it was going to start charging at her but the expected charge didn't happen. Umbra could feel the stag starting to gather energy towards the points of it's antlers with the flowing energy being visible running down the dark lines of fur covering it's body.

Umbra quickly reacted, casting a spell towards the stag which it didn't bother to dodge as it felt it's body would be able to withstand the spells coming from this human, but it didn't quite work out. Umbra didn't launch a offensive spell, with her spell being the same one she had used to restrict the golem that the group had fought a couple months ago. It was of the element that Sagar couldn't quite identify yet but Umbra seemingly used it in the same manner as before. The stag felt an unexpected weight fall on it's body causing it to stagger throwing the points on it's antlers further down away from Umbra.

The stag was about to release it's attack so when Umbra casted the spell on it it caused the power the stag had gathered on it's points to shoot into the ground kicking up a bunch of dust. Umbra used this moment to dash towards the stag quickly pulling out her elongated longsword which she then casted another spell upon. At this point the stag tried to move quickly under it's increased weight but it was already too late as Umbra came over to it's side sweeping out her sword swiftly decapitating the stag.

With all this said and done Talia and Sagar went over to the now dead stag where they would now start stripping down the beast. It was more like Umbra and Talia doing it rather than Sagar was he was mainly directly them on what they needed to do.

The group continued to make their way around they plains finding another two beasts in the process this time under Umbra's leadership. The two beasts were taken out by Talia as they didn't need anything from the beasts as they got a good amount of food from the stag. When the sun was starting to set they pulled out some sleeping bags from their backpacks and Sagar gathered some stuff together to start up a fire. They didn't really have to bring anything with them to make a spark as they could simply use some fire elemental magic, which both Talia and Sagar were capable of.

Before they started eating Sagar spread some powder around their camp which would help deter beasts as the powder was some dung of Master rank beasts and it was even mixed in with a few other things as well. When they finished eating the two girls laid down to get some sleep while Sagar would stay up and act as watch, and Umbra would switch with him following after is Talia who was being the last watch.

Like this two days passed by quickly and they group didn't really find anything too troublesome. They've only found three Expert rank beasts and that includes the stage with the rest of them being either at the Intermediate level or below.

Over on Klaus' side he's been experiencing about the same amount of things except in greater quantity. As he was alone beasts would try to target him regularly, not that Klaus minded the fact, but they ultimately failed falling under Klaus' zweihander. Klaus was about to set up camp as the sun was starting to set but then he suddenly sensed something coming towards him. He couldn't make it out clearly as it was his instincts telling him that something was about to arrive near him.

It didn't take long for whatever he sensed to show up as some sort of portal opened up before him leaking out a weird kind of energy he had never felt before. Out of the portal walked out a human figure, who was dressed quite differently than what Klaus has seen before. The figure was wearing an a mostly green jacket with gold trimmings covering different parts of it along with some red jewels encrusted in different parts of it, and the figure was wearing a brooch on his neck. His pants were mostly white with black trimmings covering the sides of it, leading to is boots which followed the same scheme as his jacket. In one of the figure's hands he held a sword while the other had a curtain of some sort. Klaus wasn't able to see the figure's face too well but could see that he wore a hat that matched the rest of his outfit.

When the figure made it's way completely out of the portal, the fading light from the sun finally hit the figure's face revealing to Klaus that under the hat was simply just a skull. Klaus has read about different sorts of undead but he couldn't think of any that matched the description of this one. Starting to feel the killing intent leaking out of the undead Klaus was able to feel the energy of it putting it at the Master rank. The intent along with it's energy was starting to suffocate Klaus but he payed it no mind and prepared. Even though the situation was dire Klaus still got his zweihander out while also sending some of his energy into the communication crystal that was in his pocket.

Seeing his opponent get ready the undead took a pose raising his sword into the air while also waving the red curtain in front of him, and even started to talk shocking Klaus quite a bit. It's sentence was short and simple.

"I challenge you to a duel!"

As Sagar was helping the girls prepare the camp for the night he received a message from the system that he's been dreading for awhile.
