14 Drak

The next morning Sagar woke up groggily from his bed. His body ached all over but it didn't hurt to the point of impeding his movements or getting up and moving about. It seems that even with him exhausting himself the day before he still woke up at the time he had been ever since he had began his training. Leaving his room he went to his parent's room opening a slight creak in the door to gaze inside of it. On the bed his mother was still sleeping but even though she was dreaming she still had a worried expression on her face. Sagar felt slightly bad about giving his mother so much worry but there was nothing he could do about it now except show that he was fine and apologize.

Sagar then moved his gaze at another tiny figure that was wrapped in his mother's embrace. This small figure was in fact his newly born sister who was not even a year yet. With his mother's condition fully recovered his parents decided to try having another child. Of course such acts occurred whenever his father came over to visit and Sagar himself decided to excuse himself finding something to busy himself away from the house as he didn't wish to hear such private acts.

Anyway his mother managed to get pregnant and also give birth very smoothly at least considering what she had to go through just for Sagar to be born. His sister like him took on most of their mother's traits well except for her eyes which where the same as Garris'. For the past for months since she was born Sagar helped his mother take care of her but Beatrice mostly insisted that she do it.

Deciding to let them keep sleeping Sagar went to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast, well only for him and his mother as his sister was still breast feeding. When he was finishing up the meal he heard a door open followed by some rushed footsteps coming towards the kitchen. Soon his mother's head popped up from out of the hallway and while her body told Sagar she was relived her face was instead in an angry scowl.

Looking at her face Sagar didn't say anything instead he put the food on some plates and put them on the table while sitting down. Beatrice followed suite and did the same she didn't have his sister with her so she was still probably sleeping. After they were both settled neither of the two said a word one angry while the other was calm. Finally deciding to break the silence Sagar spoke out.

"I'm sorry for worrying you mother.", he said in a sincere manner.

This didn't seem to change his mother's mood much as she was still angry even though it looked like it lessened a bit. She then responded to her son, "That's not what I'm angry about."

Sagar sighed thinking that that wasn't the case, 'Well if it's not one then it's the other'

So he opted for what he thought was what she truly angry about and said, "I'm sorry for putting myself in danger."

From his mother's eyes this was probably the first time she had seen her child in a life threatening situation. Sagar himself had been put in many since he started his escapades in the forest but whenever he came back he was fully healed with the only evidence of battles being his torn clothes. His mother assumed he was just fighting weak beasts and wasn't doing anything dangerous.

Hearing his apology her scowl went away and she nodded her head, "Just don't do it again otherwise you'll have to hear it from me."

Sagar agreed with her then started to eat his meal along with his mother eventually he asked, "Was Aquilia still asleep when you got up?"

"She was I tried to wake her but she becomes a heavy sleeper whenever she wants. I swear sometimes you can't make the slightest noise otherwise she'll wake while other times there could be a entire battle that happens right outside and she still wouldn't budge. I hope this doesn't become a problem in the future.", Beatrice had a concerned look on her face as she finished her sentence.

Sagar gave out a bit of a chuckle it seems like his sister was a bit fickle even though she wasn't a year old. Looking at her son laugh Beatrice decided to bring up something regarding last night, "My child can you tell me what element you fused with. Not only don't I recognize it but it's highly unusual and even pressuring?"

His mother's question was a bit hard to answer and he could only try to tell her some half truths, "It's something I managed to discover on my own. I happened upon something about it when I heard some of the villagers talking about part of the legend involving End's Peak and I decided to see if anything about it was true. It turns out it was but it was extremely difficult to learn and use. If your bodies physical abilities cannot handle it your body will start to break down. Being able to use internal energy allowed me to use it without hurting myself. I thought it was relatively strong so I performed elemental fusion with it to boost my strength, I didn't imagine that it would become so overwhelming when I completed it though."

For the most part Beatrice believed what he said except for the fact that he heard about something it from the village. Not only that but he used what he heard to completely discover an unheard of element just seemed unreasonable and pretty much impossible. She decided to not question him too much on how he learned as he'll find another reason of why he was able to learn about it.

Instead she told him something else, "Sagar when you lost your consciousness I tried sending my mana inside you to see if there were any internal problems. The thing is whenever the mana tried looking around it was like it entered a dense fog that it couldn't see it's way through. I couldn't find your mana core or any trace of your internal energy even though I was looking right at their location. Then after that when I tried to sense any form of energy radiating from you there was none. Usually I could at least sense your internal energy that leaked out sometimes but even now I can't sense anything."

Taking in what his mother said Sagar looked inside of himself to see in anything was wrong. Everything looked fine from what he could see his now deep silver internal energy along with it's golden streaks was dense but flowed normally. It surrounded his clear mana core as normal and there didn't look like there was any resistance from it.

Opening his eyes Sagar told his mother that everything was normal from what he could see. Beatrice nodded her head and started to think about something. When she finished she looked at Sagar giving him a wide smile and said to him, "Well this isn't a bad thing if anything it can be immensely helpful. You see I was extremely worried how you were going to hide the fact that you can use both internal energy and mana when you went to school. They usually test your aptitude for these sort of things, hiding it would have been extremely difficult if not impossible, but now that doesn't seem to be the case. I could also pull some strings to further help us out."

After pausing for a bit she then continued her sentence, "You know how your father came from a family famous for their warriors and internal energy?"

Sagar nodded his head his father had told him about his lineage before. Garris originated from the Ganymede family and he was also a prospective member of the family. He was known to have the highest talent and power second to the next head of the family which was his cousin. Being his son Sagar also carried his last name along with Aquilia. He thought his mother came from a big family as well considering not only her knowledge but her abilities as well.

Over the past few years not only was her body recovering but also her strength. By now from what Sagar could see it had already stopped growing so she should be fully recovered. The thing was the energy he felt from his mother was even higher than his father's so he wasn't able to get a full handle of where it was at and Beatrice hadn't told him.

Continuing after her son's nod Beatrice continued, "Well I come from a famous family of mages going by the name of Drak. You see before I was crippled I had the power of a Saint and I held the seat of a pseudo-elder of the family. I was originally not treated with much importance because I was deemed to have not talent but through my travels with Silverback I managed to rise up in the ranks and attain my position. It was also with the help of my uncle who is the current head of the family but most of the other elders and pseudo-elder's didn't agree with him. When I was crippled they took the chance to strip me of my position and almost oust me out of the family. With my uncle's help he prevented me from being ousted but could do nothing about my position as I didn't have the strength to hold it."

Taking in a deep breath Beatrice finished what she was saying, "Now my power has returned and I can get my position back but not because I really want to but more specifically for you and Aquilia."

Putting her hand on her son's hair she ran her fingers through it, "While I don't mind living out here in Mountain Village both of you need support in different ways that can't be attained here. It'll also help you when you enter school, those who have famous families don't treat those from lesser families well and I don't want you having to deal with that neither your sister. Usually the Drak family would only support a mage's as that has been the case since the family inception. Most of the family has talent in mana and if they don't they wouldn't have any in internal energy. Of course there are exceptions but they are a rarity as usually mages pair with other mages, me being one of the exceptions. With all that said since it looks like nobody can see through you we'll just have you pose as a mage for the time being is that okay?"

For Sagar this was quite a bit of information but after he sorted it all out he didn't really have a problem. While the same could be said with Garris' family he guessed there were different reasons his mother wanted for him to go to school under her family. He was sure that his father wouldn't mind as he never really has a problem with mother's suggestions.

"Yes mom I'll be fine with.", he told her for confirmation.
