77 Confusion

The training camp had it's own healing facility where several mages familiar with healing magic are stationed. With the improvements provided by the use of crystals they are able to use tools to help not only the effectiveness of their spells but they also allow them to make devices that help in the care of their patients. Unfortunately even with these tools the time it would take Sagar to be brought from death's door would still take some time.

Whenever Quinn arrived with him the staff stationed there got to work right away taking him to a private room. They also informed Quinn that Klaus had regained consciousness while they were gone if they needed to talk to him. Gammel and him were trying to find whatever information they could find on the undead that the two boys had fought so they went over to Klaus' right away, asking the two girls to remain in the waiting room while they talk.

Gammel and Quinn were met with the sight of Klaus sitting on a provided bed looking like nothing had happened to him. It was already in that state whenever the girls had brought him back because of his 'rebirth' but he still went in for a check-up in case there was something wrong with him that wasn't visible. For the most part he looked surprised to even be back at the camp like he didn't expect to wake up here, which he didn't. After Klaus landed his final attack on Matador he fully accepted the fact that he wouldn't be able to come out of the fight alive, even with his 'rebirth' as he figured that his friends wouldn't be able to make it in time to him.

As it turns out they arrived just after he passed out bringing him back to the camp, he just didn't know what happened to Matador, maybe the undead thought he had died and left after that. Looking at Gammel and another man with disheveled hair walk into the room. "What's up old man, who's this?"

Klaus had never met Quinn at this point as unlike Umbra and Sagar he didn't have a class with him, he also wasn't present whenever the fight with the golem happened and Quinn showed up afterword. Gammel went ahead and introduced him, "I call him Quinn but he's mainly known by students as Mr. Stoor."

It then clicked in his head about who Quinn was as he had heard the others talking about him before whenever they had hung out. Before Klaus could ask any more questions Gammel continued, "We've come to ask you a couple of things about the undead you had fought."

"Oh, I figured he was gone by the time the others arrived at the scene but I guess not. How was I brought back then?"

Quinn stepped in, "It was Umbra and Talia that managed to bring you back, Sagar stayed to fight the undead. When the girls brought you back they also requested help to take the undead down as well."

"So, you were the one's that took it down, but what about Sagar I could barely hold my own against him he couldn't have fought for long."

"Well by the time we arrived the undead was no where to be found the only thing we could find was a heavily wounded Sagar. We think he took it out because of a certain spell he used but we aren't sure, that's why we've come to ask you some things. If it somehow did survive then we need to know some things about it at the very least.", Quinn tried telling Klaus the quick version of what happened.

"What do you want to know?"

"Anything really, just tell us all you know. Start from whenever you first encountered it.", Gammel and him didn't really care about the information provided as they really wanted everything that Klaus was able to find out about this mysterious undead.

"It was around dusk when I was setting up my camp to rest for the day when I felt like some sort of powerful entity was in the area. I couldn't tell where it was coming from until I saw a weird portal and then he walked out of it."

Gammel interrupted, "Is there anything you noticed about the portal, maybe what type of element was used to open it?", he thought that maybe someone sent the undead there randomly to stir up trouble and if Klaus knew what type of element was used it could help narrow down some things.

Klaus started thinking about it, "Hmm, from what I could tell I couldn't really identify what it was exactly. There seemed to be some kind of weird energy coming out of it but I definitely have never felt anything like it before.", he then continued on with is story, "I didn't even notice he was an undead at first as the thing that stood out the most was his attire, it also wasn't something I have seen it was almost like a uniform but it was also elegant in a way."

"We heard it could talk did it say anything to you?"

"It did, and it spooked me a bit but the first thing he told me was, 'I challenge you to a duel'. He was apparently really excited to fight someone and forgot to introduce himself right after."

Both Gammel and Quinn asked, "He had a name?", they were quite shocked. It was a dangerous sign if an undead could talk as that told others of it's strength but if it had a name it was another story. If an undead either had a name or remembers theirs from whenever they were alive it spoke of the will of the creature more than anything. That meant it was much more cunning and difficult to deal with compared to his fellow undead.

Klaus nodded his head, "Yeah he said that he was the fiend Matador after which I also introduced myself."

"Wait a minute he didn't call himself an undead but rather a fiend?", it was a bit unusual as fiends are just a kind of demon which from what they found out so far, this wasn't a demon that they were dealing with.

"I was a bit confused about it as well but I didn't really question it at the time, I had other things on my mind at that time. When I was fighting him he displayed even more weird things as I could of sworn he was using some sort of internal energy to fight me but he also displayed that he was capable of wind and enhancement magic."

Gammel and Quinn were unsure what to think of what Klaus had just said. Even when undead were created or whatever this one called itself it still abided by the fact that it couldn't use internal energy and mana at the same time. Usually the undead would only be capable of doing things it could do whenever it was still alive so unless this particular one was one of the only four people who have been recorded to have such capabilities it wouldn't make sense. It would make even less sense for the two boys to have even survived a battle with it as it would be far stronger than them let alone Sagar defeating it.

They found out the rest of what Klaus knew and left his room somewhat confused about the whole thing with this Matador. All they could hope for was that Sagar could maybe clarify for them what exactly it was, after all from what the girls had told them it seemed as if he knew what this Matador was.
