36 Clash

Sagar was also making his own preparations for his next confrontation with Klaus. From the previous one he learned that not only was Klaus fast but the power behind his attacks are equally powerful. Whether or not this was due to him using a zweihander or that his actual strength was high didn't matter.

Using 'Explosive Maneuver' along with the martial arts in tandem with his saber he would barely be able to withstand Klaus' attacks so he would have to use his regular magic as well to pull the advantage more in his favor. He couldn't use any of his internal energy as it would be immediately noticed when he did so Sagar would have to use some of his buffing spells to increase his power.

He could only apply one stack of each of his buffs as regular buffing magic could only be used once on someone and cannot be stacked as it would be pointless. He could also use debuffs on Klaus but he felt it was enough for him to buff himself at the moment.

Finishing his thought Sagar cast Rakukaja, Makakaja, Tarukaja, and Sukukaja in quick succession which used fifth of his mana to cast but he would slowly recover it during the fight. He also planned to only use some of his more cost efficient spells during the fight such as his tiny explosions as they cost very little mana to cast.

Seeing that Sagar applied buffing magic to himself caused Klaus to become even more elated as he shouted out, "Nice! You even know buffing magic, that makes this even more interesting than it was before, but now that you seem to be more than ready let me return the favor."

Just like that Klaus started charging at Sagar again but instead of waiting for a clash between their blades like last time Klaus waved his zweihander out causing a wave of energy to to towards Sagar. With him running the speed of the slash became even faster than it would have originally have been and would give Sagar no time to react.

Luckily Sagar cast Sukukaja beforehand increasing his overall agility allowing him to react to this move of Klaus' in time. Sagar waved out his saber shooting out a wave, the same as Klaus but instead of being made of internal energy it was made out of the explosive element.

When the two slashes met an explosion similar to the one that happened during their first clash occurred but this time around instead of two figures shooting out of the cloud of smoke they ran into it. Since the two were now somewhat familiar with their strength now, even if the two of them increased their output, when they clashed once again they managed to stay their ground.

With the dust cloud clearing up the two were trying to overpower the other with Klaus slowly gaining over Sagar. Sagar himself kept outputting the explosive element into his saber allowing him to hold out for a little bit until Klaus changed the movement of his zweihander almost throwing Sagar's saber out of his hands. Klaus used this moment that Sagar was stunned to swing his zweihander looking to try and cut Sagar in half separating his torso from his legs.

Even though Sagar was stunned and wasn't able to bring his saber down to try to block the attack he wasn't completely helpless. He cast some small explosions on his feet shooting him up into the air causing Klaus' attack to whiff and then in the air he used another explosion to rapidly launch himself towards Klaus who was still recovering from his swing.

Seeing this move by Sagar Klaus actually followed the swing of his zweihander letting it pull on his body, Klaus then twisted his body causing Sagar's thrust to miss and in return Klaus who was about to complete a three-sixty spin kicked Sagar in the face throwing him back to his starting point.

Sagar who received this attack only felt a heavy weight make contact with his face was a bit dazed after he landed on the ground. He managed to recover quickly and saw that Klaus was standing where they had clashed before and he seemed to be waiting for Sagar to recover.

Looking back at their previous clash Sagar realized that Klaus probably had just as much battle experience as himself but instead of against beasts it was instead against humanoids. Sagar would be lying if he didn't think he would be able to outplay Klaus because he felt like he had more experience but it appears he was wrong.

He needed to take a different approach and instead of having a direct battle with Klaus he needed to disrupt his movements more or just use more of his spells in general really. Sagar stood up looking at Klaus and got ready to make his next move.

After this for the next several exchanges Sagar and Klaus started to trade blow after blow. Some of these exchanges Klaus won while others Sagar one as both of them were really going all out with some of their moves. Klaus didn't really have much in terms of variety of moves as most of them were slashes of his zweihander in one form or another but Klaus made up for this with his overwhelming power. Sagar on the other hand started to use different spells to not only deal damage but also as support in dealing with Klaus' rapid and powerful attacks.

When Sagar responded with an actual attack spell Klaus almost seemed surprised about it as he felt from their previous exchanges that he was fighting a warrior instead of a mage. Klaus even chuckled madly at that fact thinking about how this battle turned out completely differently than what he had originally imagined.

After thirty minutes of intense battle it looked like the both of them becoming a bit exhausted. Both of them were covered in wounds whether they be cuts on Sagar's side or burnt marks along with some cuts on Klaus' side. The two of them didn't even seem to mind that they were tired looking as if they would go on until the two of them dropped.

Klaus was happiness continued to grow as this battle raged on as there was almost no one like Sagar among those his age at least, there was not one who would go toe to toe with it him in such a way. There were plenty of mages that would give him trouble sure but there were no warriors among his peers that would be able to have a fight of this kind with him. Even though Sagar was a mage he fought pretty close to what a warrior would and this made Klaus even more excited as to how strong Sagar would be when he reached the Expert level.

For Klaus that was probably the best part as his opponent was actually lower in power than himself and was not only able to keep up with him but also give him a good fight. Regardless Klaus decided to put everything he had in his next attack that would unfortunately end this fight but not only was he curious about how Sagar would respond but he wondered if Sagar would be able to counter his next attack.

Seeing that Klaus was getting ready to launch one last attack Sagar also prepped himself to not only receive but also dish out an attack of his own.
