27 Breakfast

Waking up the next day Sagar decided to go eat breakfast which was served in a large dining hall in the mansion. It was quite early so he wasn't sure how many were up besides the workers but from the looks of things mostly everyone was asleep.

Arriving at the dining hall it looked like you would expect it to look for the most part. A large room with decorations covering most of the room with a chandelier hanging from up top shining down onto the long table filled with many chairs. Sagar could hear the cooks in the nearby kitchen still cooking so he decided to wait and picked a seat towards one of the ends of the table.

Having nothing better to do Sagar started to go over his newly learned techniques again. Even though he's gone through them many times he still feel that there's room for improvement at least on the theoretical side of things, he just needed to continue to put it into practice for the next week that he's here. He didn't have a problem with practicing it while at Skoll Academy he just wasn't too sure about what the atmosphere would be like when he arrived.

Then there was Talia who he had met the day before. From their conversation yesterday he confirmed that she was indeed the same age as him only a month or so older. He also found out that his guess was correct about who her grandfather was which happened to be James. Talia was the only daughter and youngest child of his oldest son Richard Drak. Sagar had yet to meet either Richard or Talia's mother so he wasn't sure what she picked up from them but she definitely saw James' friendly nature from her.

It was mainly her talking yesterday as Sagar was putting most of his focus on his training but he could till hear and understand her. Whether she noticed or not she didn't seem to care and just talked to him while he gave out responses every now and then. She mostly talked about how it was growing up in this mansion along with different parts of her training that she had to go through. Like most of the family she was training in the explosion element and according to her words she was quite good at using it. Sagar didn't doubt it from what he could tell she had excellent magic control which is one of the major requirements to using the explosion element.

As Sagar was continuing to get absorbed into his thoughts he didn't notice that someone sat next to him and began waiting for breakfast as well. This person didn't say anything seeing Sagar in deep thought and just waited till after he stopped to began speaking to him.

It took only about a minute before Sagar noticed that someone was quietly sitting next to him giving him a slight scare. Looking at said person he saw that it was actually his great-grandmother, elder in charge of the security of the family and also the one Beatrice works under, Bella Drak.

The lady in question looked old with wrinkles covering her entire face along with the bed of white hair tied into a messy bun upon her head. She was dressed and ready to start her daily duties from the looks of things. Sagar hadn't seen her since the first day he arrived here he just heard more about her from his mother as she worked with her almost everyday.

Seeing that Sagar was looking at her Bella started to speak out in a somewhat slow manner, "You know there's usually no one who arrives here before me so I was quite surprised seeing you. The cooks know I get here around this time so you won't have to wait long before they bring something out."

Sagar nodded to what she said and didn't really respond back as he really didn't have anything to say to her but Bella continued talking anyway, "So how's your past week been like being here? Good I hope."

Having something to bounce off of Sagar told her, "It's been quite well so far. I've mainly been training and caring for my sister but when I do look around I was surprised about how lively this place can be. I also managed to learn different things from the library especially about the family element, I'm still pondering and practicing it's different uses but so far I've been mainly successful."

"That's good to hear. I heard from your mother that like her you're somewhat of a bookworm yourself so I'm glad you were able to enjoy the library we provide. I'm not sure if you're aware but Skoll Academy also has a very well built library as well so when you go there you should check it out.", she finished her sentence and turned her head from Sagar as she felt the conversation was done.

Sagar would have stopped the conversation as well but he wanted to ask something he's been curious about for some time now. "May I ask you question?"

Hearing him Bella responded in a soft tone, "Of course, you don't have to say so in such a polite manner, ease up a bit."

Relaxing his shoulders a bit Sagar questioned, "Well I wanted to ask about my grandparents more specifically my mother's parents. I've never seen them around here, they've never approached me, and my mother doesn't tell my anything about them. From what I can gather something must of happened to them right?"

Looking at this child Bella wondered if she should tell him about them. She felt it would be better to hear about it from Beatrice. He was looking straight at her with clarity and wanting in his eyes so Bella decided to tell him at least a bit.

"I'm surprised that your mother still hasn't told you about them and I would tell you that if you're that curious about it that you should ask her yourself.", hearing what Bella was saying Sagar guessed he would have to do so, "But I'll tell you a little of the situation."

Sagar began to fully listen to what she was saying, "As I'm sure you know some of the elders don't think well of your mother this mainly stems from the actions of her father. You see he married into the family and was also from a decent household, now we don't usually bar people from marrying who they want but there have been a couple of exceptions. You see Beatrice's mother was actually the next in line to be the head of the family so most of the family was skeptical about her getting together with Beatrice's father. A couple years past and Beatrice was born and it was soon time for Beatrice's mother to take the helm of the family. Let's just say that her father did something that caused the death of Beatrice's mother. As for the rest of this I would say find out more from your mother as it's not my place to continue much more."

Sagar nodded his head and soon after they finished talking the chief walked out of the kitchen bringing them the food they had been waiting for.
