74 Awakening

Sagar was breathing heavily with wounds riddling his different parts of his body. He was now using his life energy to heal his instead of using spells as he was trying to conserve whatever mana he had left. He was completely out of items to be used to he couldn't use any on himself or on his demons.

In front of him there were the three Matadors all in different conditions from their various fights, with the actual Matador looking worse than the other two. After several minutes of exchanges Berith and Sarasvati were defeated or to be more exact killed, with Sarasvati being killed first. She was using a lot of her mana so when Sagar had run out of items to supply her with she quickly fell under the blade of the Matador clone. The two clones then joined hands to take down Berith before they made their way over to the real one joining his fight.

Sagar wasn't too worried about the death of the demons as if he acted in a timely manner he could revive them with a 'Recarm' spell, but that was only if they hadn't been dead for more than five minutes. He had thoroughly tested out the spell on some beasts he had fought back at The Forest and was able to find that 'Recarm' only worked on dead beings within five minutes of their death, after that the spell would be pretty ineffective and he also needed to be within a meter of the corpse for it to work as well. He wasn't sure if that would change when he learns the 'Samarecarm', but it didn't matter as he didn't even know the spell.

He tried to get closer to the corpses of the demons but the Matadors understood his intent and pushed him further back away from them. Sagar really underestimated what this fiend could do and was paying for it currently as they winded themselves up for another assault. Even with him being in the battered condition he was in, they were still cautious as they themselves wouldn't want to be caught up in a surprise attack made by him.

Matador himself didn't seem to want to sacrifice the clones as they would be able to provide an opening for him to attack. If he injured Sagar enough it should allow Matador to finish him off by himself. It probably had something to do with the 'Beast Eye' spell, some kind of demerit that Sagar wasn't aware of that made Matador to not allow his clones to be destroyed.

Even with this information there was nothing Sagar could do about it as all he could do at this point was defend himself. The three Matadors rushed him from three points, the front and both of his sides, as they were trying to keep some distance from each other to not only give themselves room to attack but to also prevent Sagar from using any sort of group targeting attacks. It was pointless really as he was running out of energy using only what he had left for healing himself.

He launched a 'Hell Thrust' towards the Matador approaching his front, then he swiped out to his right top intercept the one coming from one of his sides. For the one coming from his left he used his fist using 'Power Fist' to counter act the swing of the Matador's blade. This only served to slow the other two down while he tries to focus on the one in front of him at the moment.

It wasn't enough though as not even a moment after connecting blades with the Matador clone he felt an attack coming from his back. He couldn't block the attack so he used 'Tetrakarn', which quickly absorbed the incoming attack but as soon as the barrier went away, a kick landed on the side of his head launching him away from the clone and into the grass several meters away.

The sudden kick had really disoriented him preventing him from getting up right away, when he did try to stand he fell to his knees. Even with his body constantly working to heal itself it wouldn't before the trio of Matador's arrived, this was it.

When Sagar's blurry vision landed on the Matador's it seemed like they were slowing down almost grinding to a halt. He didn't understand what was happening for such a thing to occur, did reinforcements finally arrive? As he was thinking this to himself he heard a familiar voice speak out to him, one he hadn't heard in long time.

'Is that the limit of your resolve? Was the point of gathering all your power just for you to simply let yourself be skewered?'

Sagar denied, "No, the only reason I gain power is to allow those who I care for live a peaceful life, not to let them be in danger or afraid of anything as long as I was around."

'Are you sure? You didn't just tell yourself that to make yourself feel better about the fact that you're just doing this for selfish reasons?'

"I won't say that isn't one of my reasons but it's not what truly drives me. It doesn't control who I am or what I do."

The voice seemed to let out a small chuckle, 'Very well. I am thou, thou art I, even with the shackles you place on yourself you still strive towards your goals with fervor. Allow me to grant the power you seek.'

When the voice stopped speaking Sagar suddenly felt a large pain in his heart it caused to start screaming in pain. The Matadors who were encroaching on him paused for a bit shocked at their opponent suddenly screaming out in pain. As he was feeling this pain Sagar started standing up showing that his once dark eyes were glowing yellow and on his chest where his heart would be was a stake, that would usually be used to hold something in place appeared. The stake itself didn't look real as it was glowing with an ethereal light. Sagar reached for the stake and started pulling it out in quite the brutal fashion.

Feeling that something was about to happen the Matadors reacted quickly to finish off Sagar, but it was too late. Sagar fully pulled out the stake in which it shattered as soon as it left his body, energy then fully erupted from Sagar throwing the approaching Matadors to the ground. Within the energy he walked out still covered in the same wounds but it looked like he had a new one of sorts. Where his heart used to be was now a hole of which you could see through, this would mean that Sagar would be dead with his heart missing instead it was formed elsewhere.

From behind Sagar a figure appeared, having very formal attire with a black straight jacket retraining it's arms. It's face was covered in bandages only allowing a blue light leak out from it's eye and adorning it's head was a simple top hat. The most peculiar thing about this figure was that it was covered in chains, with several locks covering tying them all together. The weight from these chains was massive as the presence of the figure was starting to bend the space around it.

"Contain and Cage them, Jekyll!"
