13 Shocking Test

Standing in front of the majestic magic tower, my mother was giving me some last minute tips.

"Remember to be polite to your elders, especially high ranking mages as you do not know how they would react. Some of them have been locked up in their towers doing experiments, they might act aggressively if you say something wrong, so be careful with your words." My mother said worryingly.

I nod my head as to show I understand.

"Some mages have been living for a long time so they can be unique or unusual, to put it in a nicer way." It seems my mother was really worried. Has she experience something like that before, I wondered.

"It's okay mother, Max has always been polite and well-mannered," Alicia said. Mother seemed to want to say more but she stopped as my grandmother was approaching us. She gave me and Alicia a hug, then conversed with mother.

"I prepared everything so that the results will only be known by the people high up. These are people whom I trust, so you do not have to worry." My grandmother said to my mother while we started walking. The area that we will be testing my magic is located at the 8th floor on the magic tower. We stood on a platform, the platform had 15 magic stones mounted on it, I thought the magic tower was only made up of 12 levels. When my grandmother said an incantation it floated up. She said that normal people would not be able to enter as long as they do not have the access to specific floors. The platform then stopped and the 8 stones were shining when we arrived.

We walked a couple of steps when we dismounted from the platform, in the room, there were large pillars with different colors. At the side there are people sitting while having conversations when they saw people approaching, they stopped their discussion and looked at the newly arrived people. As they were looking at us, I was doing the same. The first person looked like he's in his late 50 's, he has a thin frame, pale complexion, black hair and black eyes while wearing glasses. He looked like he was curious, he looked like a nice elderly man from across the streets as he smiled kindly.

The second person was a lady that seems to be in her 30's. It was really hard to tell as she looked young but mature at the same time. Her body was curvaceous which cannot be hidden by the robe that she was wearing. She had long red auburn hair, full red lips, golden eyes that sparkle. She was grinning while inspecting me, I couldn't help but shiver by the way she looked.

The third person was mesmerizing, the second lady was beautiful but the third was out of this world. She was breathtakingly beautiful her hair was platinum blond and super long reaching her buttocks. Her clothes were made of mage robe but that did not hide her curvy body. Her face was so exquisite that you can't find a flaw, it matches well with her pointed ears. Yes, she was an elf, this was the first time I was able to see an Elf. I was staring at her with eyes wide open while she did the same. Her emerald eyes are intently looking at the thing sitting on my shoulder. She was blinking a couple of times as if trying to determine if she was hallucinating or not. It was a marvelous sight to see, I would like to stare at her more but someone tugged my shoulders.

"Everyone this here is my grandson Max. I called everyone today because I wanted his tests to be a complete secret. There are a lot of prying eyes, and our kingdom is in a precarious situation, so I hope everyone will understand why I want to keep this matter a secret." Grandmother said to the 3 people.

The 3 people nodded their head as an approval from her requests.

"The first test will determine the mana level that you currently have. Max, I want you to stay in front of the pillar which is colored white and we will take it from there. All you have to do is touch it and the pillar will activate. It will sense your mana level, as simple as that." Grandmother explained, although mother already gave me an explanation earlier, I still nod my head in understanding and did what grandmother said. As I was about to touch the pillar, I hesitated a bit, grandmother must have noticed because she said, "Don't worry Max, everything that will happen in here will stay in here. There will be no information leaked as I trust the people here with my life."

I stopped hesitating and touched the pillar, the pillar then shined brightly while the height of the light kept increasing slowly at first, however, it suddenly spiked and reached the last level of the pillar as it reached the maximum level."

There was a sudden sound from behind as a chair fell, I was surprised and let go of the pillar. The light started to dim down and I looked at where the sound came from. From there, at the side, the voluptuous red haired lady was pointing at me like she saw something incredulous. The sound came from her chair falling down as she abruptly stood up. It was a sight to behold as her beautiful face was like a fish out of water, her mouth opening and closing. I giggled at the sight and tried to cover my lips when that happened but it was too late. She was now glaring at me, it seems I have done something wrong.

"That is impossible Milana, that kind of mana level is impossible for a young child. You said he was only 5? That's not possible. He must be a dwarf, yes that is the case. He is only posing as your grandchild since you want to prank us." She said as an excuse as what she saw was an impossibility. She started to look crazed as if her life works had been stolen from her.

I could not understand what I did wrong as I was still lacking information from this world. The beautiful elf, however, was looking at me kindly and the thing that is sitting on my shoulder alternately. I am now sure that she can see Lumi, as her eyes are glittering with expectations as she looks at us.

The elderly man looked shocked at first, but he was able to compose himself real quick. Looking at the three people, I think he was the most normal.
