"This has nothing to do with Vincent." I howled at him.

"You are pretty defensive when it comes to him. You were dead set on not agreeing to become my fake girlfriend back then but once I mentioned Vincent, you became tense and did not even hesitate on having a deal with me. The whole secret admirer facade is not just for your family right? You want me to act like I am really courting you so that once Vincent finds out he will not misunderstand and think that you have been dating me without him knowing. You don't want him to think that you actually chose to hide your relationship from him. He--" Neo's voice trailed off when he looked up and saw my forlorn expression.

"I... No... Vin...Vincent has nothing to do with us. Leave him alone." I said to him. My voice stuttering because I am not liking this topic one bit.

"You are protecting that guy as if he is a fragile glass that will crack once exposed to a little pressure. If I have not known Vincent, then I would have thought of him as a wuss who needs a girls protection. But he is not like that." Neo said.

"Of course he is not weak!" I snapped at him. I know that! It's not Vincent who is weak, it's our friendship which is becoming rusty and feeble. I don't know when it started but I have this feeling that if he found out about my relationship with Neo he might avoid me even more. I might be jumping to conclusions but I just feel like it.

"Yes, that guy is a devil in sheep's clothing." Neo commented.

"Look whose talking." I sarcastically said.

A flash of light suddenly blinded us for a second. A car is heading our way, I instantly recognized the car as one of our family car. I secretly sighed in relief. Finally!! I can finally get away from here.

Neo doesn't seem a bit surprised. He only raised a brow at me as he saw me hastily unbuckle my seat belt. I didn't bother returning his gaze at all. I grabbed Neo's coat on top of my lap and threw it at him. 'wheesh' It safely landed on his chest.

"Ok then. I guess this is goodbye. Thank you for letting me drive. Ciao." I said to him as I stepped my left foot out of the car. I was about to leave when again (-.-) Neo stopped me.

I felt his warm hand wrap over my right wrist. Ugh... When will this end? I really wanna go to bed already. I mumbled on my head. I looked back and was surprised when I saw mirth flash in his eyes. It only lasted for a second, giving me the impression that what I saw might only be a fiction of my imagination.

"I will do something about my engagement with Ashly. Think about what I said to you earlier. Sooner or later, you will be engaged to me. Think of me as your rebound boyfriend then. I can help you shield against unwanted suitors and marriage proposals." Neo said with a clear calm voice. His gaze is set on my eyes. Even how many times I scowl at him, he will still stare at me like he is not affected at all.

"My marriage is not for me or for you to decide." I said to him as I forcefully pulled my arm away from his grasp.

He eventually let me go but I was taken aback when I saw his sexy lips curve into a smile. "You are really interesting Elrae Vienne Tan. Very interesting." He said with a smile on that devilishly handsome face of his. Does this guy have a split personality or something? He really needs to consult a physician about this condition of his before it becomes worse.

I rolled my eyes at him and said "Neo honey~ Better stop that interest of yours if you do not want to experience your second heartache." I confidently said to him. I sweetly smiled at him, showcasing my dimples. I then slipped out of the vehicle like a commercial model would do.

Mr. Shin is already patiently waiting for me. He opened the door as he greeted me. I also greeted him back and told him to drive us home.

As Mr. Shin started to drive away, I saw Neo come out from the passengers side of his car. He then turned and watch us drive away from him. He have that seductive smile plastered on his face. He looks very satisfied for unknown reasons. I shrugged my shoulders and leaned comfortably on my seat.

I know that being a girl who came from a noble background, I have to abide by the rules set for our status and a political marriage is one of those. I do know that one day I might have to marry someone who I've never seen before. If what Neo said is true, then one of this days my parents will ask me about my opinion regarding my future. I know that I can't live as the 'adopted child' forever. The time is near for my true identity to be known to everyone. When that time comes, I need to accept whatever life throws at me. Accept but not let it overwhelm me.
