98 Predator and the Prey
But as I turn around the corner; I almost collided with someone, good thing I decreased my speed. I looked up and saw a different familiar face. "Miss Tan?" the boy in front asked with a surprised expression on his face.
"Kyle... I mean.. Student Council President... ah, did you see Vincent pass by here?" I asked Kyle as I tried to peak over his shoulder.
A crease formed on his forehead as he observed my actions. "Vincent? I haven't seen him today. Is he already back?" Kyle said with a doubtful tone of voice.
"I thought I saw him earlier that's why I-- oh, it's nothing. Nevermind. It's not that important anyway." I absent mindedly said. My voice dropping into neutral as words got out of my mouth.
"I see. So may I ask why a student of the SB curriculum here in the MA curriculum building during class hours then?" Kyle asked with a serious tone of voice.
"I'm working on a project and-- Young Master Neo helped me finish it. I am on my way back to class now. See you later Mr. President." I shamelessly said and calmly walked away like nothing happened. I didn't even wait for Kyle's reply. I know I might have looked rude to leave like this but if I stayed any longer, he might discover my lie. I didn't expect that my sudden rebellious action would actually lead to a number of complicated and confusing situations.

Kyle stood there dumbfounded as he stared at Elrae's disappearing figure.
"Come out. She's gone." Kyle said with a monotone voice followed by the sound of the rustling of leaves.
"Thanks." Vincent said to his friend as he slowly appeared behind the bush.
"You finally showed up in school and the first thing you said to me when I bumped into you is 'hide me' before rolling yourself behind a bush?? Vincent Gu, you are really something." Kyle helplessly shook his head.
Vincent only chuckled on his friends antics. "Did you miss me?" Vincent teasingly said to his friend as he slung his left arm over Kyle's shoulders.
"Why would I miss you when you video call everytime there is a student council meeting? You should be asking that to your 'dear friend', lover boy. I didn't expect you to actually cut all communication with her and now you are hiding from her. That's not cool Vincent." Kyle rebutted as he smirked at his friend.
"I will talk to her personally but not today." Vincent said.
"Didn't you hear her? She said Neo is helping her. Didn't I warn you about the dangerous predators surrounding your prey? When will you finally make your move? You are definitely losing points." Kyle said to his friend. He really don't understand what is going on in that head of his. They have been friends for a long time and he knows that Vincent becomes unreadable when it involves Elrae.
Vincent only smiled and said "I'm not sure if it's right to call her a prey."
Kyle gave Vincent a questioning look. Vincent continued "She is not a prey. It's more like she is the leader of the coalition which one should challenge and defeat first before earning her respect."
"You think highly of her. You should just challenge her then. Why keep this pretense? Such foolishness will get you nowhere." Kyle said as he walk away from his friend.
"I do not have that much time to go anywhere with her anymore." Vincent mumbled to himself as he watches his friend's back moving away from him.

Hi, I wanna take this opportunity to again say sorry about the delayed chapters.
You must be wondering why the love or romantic progress of the characters are too slow and seems like forever. I do agree that my story is slow in the 'love part'. The reason for this is because I don't want my characters to lose their original personalities. I don't want my story to end up like just another love story in other books. I hate it when the characters fall in love that easily. I usually stop reading a book every time the story gets predictable. Though my story is not 100% cliche proof, I do try my best to change it, to make ABBD a more exciting and interesting romance book to read. I believe that the journey towards the most awaited ending should not be rushed.
Honestly speaking, ABBD will end soon. I have set a timeline already, the only problem is the update dates since I cannot promise you regular updates. I did not expect things to get a bit complicated here in my real world. Anyway, I will finish ABBD before I resign from my work so that I can focus more on my upcoming licensure exam. (^^)
This chapter is short, but oh well at least now you know that VINCENT IS BACK!!!
I honestly only have 9 books in my webnovel library (including abbd) and all of them are slow to update.
