96 I Do Hope So...

Author's Note: Hi! Just wanna inform you that I will be doing another special mention chapter soon. The details would be at the end of this chapter. (^^)

I checked the image in the small monitor beside the door. I was taken aback when I saw who is outside. I came back to my senses when the door bell sounded again. I took a deep breath before opening the door.

"Elrae?" Vinz said the moment he saw me open the door. "Did I get the address wrong?" he said as he stepped back and looked at the neighboring houses. He then checked his phone. "That's odd. The gps--"

"Big Brother Vinz, are you here for Neo? Come inside first, he's resting inside." I smilingly said to him.

Vinz have a puzzled expression on but he still stepped inside the house and quietly waited for me to guide him to Neo. Vinz is a very capable doctor so of course the Yuan Family will hire him as their family physician. Though Vinz often travels to who knows where in search for his phoenix collections he is still the genius doctor everyone wants to be affiliated with.

Neo is still sitting quietly on the bed when we arrived. His hands still wrapped around the bowl of porridge on top of his lap. "The porridge must be cold by now. Should I reheat it?" I asked him as me and Vinz enter the room.

"No. I'm famished. Help me first." Neo said without even glancing or greeting his new visitor.

"So childish." I mumbled as I approached him and grabbed the now slightly cold bowl out of his hand. Just like earlier, I took a spoonful of ginger porridge and moved it towards his mouth but unlike earlier he didn't wait for the spoon to touch his lips. He swiftly moved his head closer in his own accord and ate the porridge in one mouthful. I involuntarily flinched since I was surprised by his action. Is he that hungry? I again fed him a spoonful of porridge and just like the first time, he wolfed it down like he had never eaten for a couple of days. This is not my first time caring for the sick. I would often visit Vincent when he gets sick and would usually end up feeding him his meal since he would get too fussy if I didn't. My brother is the same. He would go as far as to use his acting skills just to make me feed him myself. My mother is not an exemption either. But they would weakly and slowly swallow their food every time I feed them unlike Neo who swallows his food as if he is afraid that others might take it away from him.

Hmmm.. Is it because I cooked it well? I was cursing him like a witch as I cooked this though. Oh well, I'll forgive him for making me cook since he liked it that much. I fed him until the bowl is empty.

I then turned around and saw Vinz standing behind me, observing us quietly. "Oh, sorry for keeping you waiting big brother Vinz. You can check on Neo now, he still haven't taken any med since we arrived earlier." I said as I placed the bowl on top of the tray. I then handed the water to Neo but just like earlier, his hands are still weak. I got no choice but to hold the glass for him and help him drink.

"I will be leaving now. I still need to go back to school to get my things." I then went to the chair nearby where I placed my sketch pad earlier without waiting for Neo to reply.

"Rae-Rae, You should clean your self first before going out." Vinz said, stopping me on my tracks.

I looked down and saw the stains on my clothes and I don't need a mirror to know how messy my hair is at the moment. Ugh.. I really wanna shower. "Ah, thank you for reminding me big brother Vinz." I gratefully smiled at him.

"There are a couple of women's clothes upstairs. You're free to use them." Neo suddenly said out of the blue.

I wanted to raise a brow at him but Vinz is still here. I can't do something like that in front of him.

" No thank you. I'm fine with what I am wearing right now." As if I would wear your women's clothes. "Well then I'm off." I said and walked out of the room in a hurry.

I am a bit concerned since Vinz saw me here and witnessed my interactions with Neo. Will he tell Vincent? I then unknowingly chuckled as a thought passed my mind. Will Vincent come back if he finds out about my closeness with Neo? Sigh... I do hope so. With that thought in mind I then walked towards the alleyway.

After Elrae closed the door shut. Vinz then strode towards his patient. He then placed his bag on the edge of the bed, beside Neo. He grasped Neo's hand and felt his pulse. He helplessly shook his head after doing so. "You have been sick since yesterday night. Why didn't you call me then and waited for it to become worse?" Vinz said as he look for some appropriate medicine on his bag.

"Then I wouldn't have acquired a beautiful nurse if I did that." Neo said, amusement evident on his bright red face.

"Nurse? You mean Elrae? Hmm... well, she does play nurse every time my little brother gets sick." Vinz said as he secretly observe Neo's reaction. His lips then tugged into a smile when he felt Neo's dark aura seeping out of his weak body.

He was about to tease him more when Neo suddenly started coughing hard. He have been a doctor for a very long time and since he is not just an ordinary doctor he immediately noticed that there is something wrong with the way Neo is coughing right now. He then immediately grabbed his wrist and felt his pulse again. A crease formed on his forehead as he diagnose him.

"Allergy... Hey, did you--" he didn't finish his sentence because he suddenly remembered the porridge that Elrae fed Neo earlier. He swiftly moved to the side and lifted the bowl. He brought it to his nose and sniffed it as Neo's cough sounded in the background.

"Ginger?!! She made you ginger porridge?? You're allergic to ginger! Why didn't you tell her?!" Vinz said with a tone of a real doctor that he is. It sounded like he is scolding a subordinate who diagnosed a patient wrong.

*cough* "I'm fine." *cough* *cough* Neo can hardly speak due to his cough. He is also experiencing trouble in breathing.

"You're going to the hospital." Vinz said as he speed dialed the emergency personnel in his hospital.

"No need--" and with that, Neo passed out.

"Tsk, Kids these days are too stubborn. They think they know everything there is to survive." Vinz said as he grabbed a syringe and medicine vial from his bag.
