The rain hammered on to the pitched roof of the grand old white house. The imposing building stood in its own grounds hidden for years by the brambles and thorns which had entwined themselves against the body of the Victorian House. The stained glass window, which ran the height of the building and was the focal point of the property, seemed to howl and scream as the rain impounded the beautiful rose design whilst allowing the low daylight creep on to the first floor landing. Anna had to admit, the building was impressive by anyones standards, but she just wasn't sure it would ever become her home. She had only been in the town of Oldrey for a few weeks but its constant miserable weather seemed to fit her mood perfectly.

Anna had moved to the town with her mother and father after her father was relocated for work.

The dull grey sky covered the busy street and Anna sighed with sadness at the loss of her friends and home after the move.

The house her parents had bought was nothing like she was used to. Moving from a small and tidy two up two down arrangement to this magnificent 6 bedroom deluxe arrangement. Dad's promotion included the house whilst an overwhelming gesture from her father's new employer, no one had stopped to question why such grandeur had formed part of the deal, nor did anyone stop to question why the house had stood along and neglected for so long. The cold white stone covered in moss showed how neglected the building had been and whilst the picket fence attempted to lure a soft feature to the property, the over grown trees and thorns indicated the house was as unloved as it was grand.

Anna resigned herself to the realisation the heavy rain was set for the afternoon and slipped on her soft leopard print slipper boots and decided to explore the property.
