255 255. The Dust Settles

The four enormous swords stopped Onigashima's descent. Several pieces of rocks crumbled from beneath Onigashima and fell down. However before it reached far they were reduced to dust.

"Sword God! Wano's deity has descended!"

The crowd broke out into a cheer. A moment ago they fell into despair, a moment later they were saved. In the eyes of the common people this was akin to a miracle. And miracles were done by gods.

Leo who stood beneath the four enormous swords took a step forward. His foot stepped on air and catapulted to the sky.

In the blink of an eye he was already standing far above Onigashima.

He saw Luffy, Zoro, Kidd, Kinemon and the rest.

All of them saw him as well. With their kenbunshoku haki they sensed what happened to Onigashima.

"Teacher is still unfathomable."

Zoro muttered under his breath.

Kaido who was surrounded by a dozen people narrowed his eyes when he saw Leo. As the person who lifted up Onigashima he also saw what happened to it.

"Wororo, you've grown stronger."

Leo didn't reply to him and said to the others.

"Head down and deal with the rest."

Luffy paused for a second. He didn't want to just leave like that.

Zoro patted his shoulder, "Let's go."

Luffy stared at Kaido then at Leo for a second and nodded. Kidd didn't dare to look at Leo in his eyes. He immediately bolted from the scene.

Kinemon and the rest bowed to Leo, "Thank you."

They headed back down to the lower floor. The battle was still going on down there.

Now only him and Kaido were left on the top floor.

"Let's finish this."

Leo spoke softly.

Kaido gripped his bagua and laughed loudly, "Worororo, I wanted to have another round with you for so long. The last one left a bit of bad taste in my mouth."

Leo maintained his cold expression. He simply raised his sword and muttered.

"Raging Inferno!"

Suddenly the rumbling sky turned quiet. A storm of sword rays swirled around Leo and disappeared.

He looked no different from an ordinary person.

However Kaido who was standing opposite to him felt entirely different. He saw a sea of sword rays surrounding Leo. The sharp sword intent radiating from every sword ray chilled his heart.

Kaido always proclaimed that he wanted to die. This wasn't because of his intense desire to die but because of his arrogance knowing that no one could kill him.

He was the strongest creature in the world!

However at this moment he felt his heart tremble. The sea of sword intent infront of him seemed as if it wanted to destroy everything in it's path.

Leo raised his sword.

The air whistled as a sharp intent gathered in his sword.

Rooarr!!!

Kaido roared. His body swelled up. He immediately took on his dragon form.

As soon as he soared to the sky Leo's sword fell.

Kaido opened his mouth and blasted a burst of energy against the incoming sword.

Puff!

As the sword and the energy blast collided the expected explosion didn't happen. The sword cleaved through the energy blast, leaving a trail of smoke in it's wake.

What?!

Kaido was shocked. His face went pale. He sensed for the first time in his life what he always yelled for.

Death!

No!

Armed!!

Busoshoku haki coated his claws as he struck at the sword.

Splatter!

The sword sliced through the gleaming black claws as if it was a piece of paper. Blood spilled through the air.

Kaido wanted to retreat however to his shock he found an overbearing sword intent tear through his body. It extended from his claws shredding it to pieces.

He looked down and found a gaping hole in his body where his claws were. It was getting bigger by the second.

His indestructible body was slowly turning to a pile of crushed flesh and blood!

"Two years ago we stood on equal grounds."

At this moment Leo's voice rang out.

Kaido raised his head.

Leo sheathed his sword and spoke slowly.

"Two years later you aren't worthy to stand against me."

Kaido wanted to roar at him but his body was being torn from inside out.

An enormous sword intent was destroying every cell in his body.

"You... monster...

Kaido's words turned blurry as his upper body was swallowed by the sword intent. In an instant his upper body was turned into a bloody mist.

The sword intent spread through the giant creatures body. Like a domino it extended to it's tail in an instant, turning Kaido's huge body into a bloody mist.

Splatter.

Blood fell down like rain and dyed the top floor red.

The moment Kaido died everyone felt it. They all looked at the top floor in shock and fear.

Leo stomped his foot. The top floor started to crack, in a moment it was destroyed. Everyone saw what was left of Kaido on the floor.

"He...

Inuarashi and Nekomamushi knew Leo was strong, but this was far beyond just being strong.

Zoro curled his lips into a smile.

Staring at everyone down below he spoke.

"Kaido is dead."

"Warriors of Wano, remember this battle. Don't forget the sacrifice all of you have made, etch those who you have lost in your hearts, and strive to build a better future."

Warriors gathered from every corner of Wano gripped their fist. They cried knowing that they have won. The nightmare that haunted them for the past twenty years was over.

Leo looked at a tiny figure amidst the battlefield and said, "Kozuki Momonosuke...

Before Leo could speak Momonosuke yelled, "My father is still a great man, but-but I'll surpass him!"

Leo nodded before he took off.

The four enormous swords moved in unison and dragged Onigashima towards a sparse land before dispersing.

Leo went back to Amigasa village. As he landed the first ray of light shone through the horizon.

Tama had just woken up and rubbed her eyes as she was still a bit sleepy.

Seeing Leo outside she tilted her head in confusion.

"Big brother?"

Leo smiled back at her, "Good morning, Tama."
