253 253. Stepped Beyond

Amigasa village, Wano.

Leo was sitting outside with a bottle of wine in his hand. He took small sips from time to time.

"I never expected you to come to Wano."

After a while he spoke.

Sitting beside him was a man wearing glasses. He wore an open shirt and had a tattoo on his chest.

It was Marco.

"Oden was father's good friend, and a brother. When we heard about his death we wanted to storm Wano, but thinking about the casualties we chose not to."

"Right now Wano is at the cusp of revolution. I wanted to see what I can help with."

He drank a mouthful after he spoke.

Watching the cloudy skies above them Leo let out a sigh. He turned to look inside the house. Tama was sleeping soundly with a smile on her lips.

Marco also looked back and commented, "You remind me of father now."

Leo chuckled, "Is that so?"

Marco laughed, "Yeah."

They didn't speak any further and drinked to their hearts content.

After a while Marco asked.

"Do you think they have won by now?"

Leo shook his head, "If Kaido was that easy to defeat he wouldn't be a Yonko. But those kids must be putting up a great fight."

Marco nodded. As the captain of Whitebeard Pirates he was very clear about the strength of a Yonko.

"Do you wanna go check it out?"

Leo asked.

Marco thought for a second and rejected, "Nah. Since you let them go that means they should atleast have the ability to run if things go downhill."

Leo smiled.

Meanwhile.

A raging battle was happening in Onigashima. More than three thousand warriors under the lead of Kinemon and the other vassals of Oden stormed Onigashima.

Sounds of metal clashing rang through the air.

Warriors of Wano fought with their life on the line. Members of Strawhat pirates, Heart Pirates and Kidd Pirates joined the crowd as they fought their way through the floors.

A hug building was located right in the center of Onigashima. At the top floor was Kaido.

Luffy, Zoro, Law, Kidd and Killer was fighting Kaido alongside Kinemon and the others.

Their battle shook the sky and earth. Dark clouds loomed over the sky as they battled.

Boom! Boom!

Sonic booms rang loud with each collision. Haoshoku haki rumbled through the battlefield.

King Kong Gun!!

Luffy threw out a heavy strike at Kaido.

Kaido scoffed and swung his bagua at Luffy's fist. Haki clashed as the air shook. Luffy was pushed away by the strike.

At that moment Law swiped his fingers.

A ripple covered the battlefield. It was fluctuating due to the tremendous power raging through the area.

Kaido just threw away Luffy when Kidd, Killer and the rest ganged upon him.

Zoro was far behind them. He held his sword in a peculiar stance. Clouds of hot breath rolled out of his mouth. Veins popped all over his body as tremendous power raged inside him.

Three Sword Style Secret Technique, Dragon Shocking!!

All three of his sword hummed as haki flowed through them. His sword intent started to form the figure of a dragon as he swung his swords.

Kaido was fighting the others when he sensed Zoro's presence. He raised his eyebrows.

However he scoffed the next moment. His haoshoku haki exploded as he smashed the others away.

Thunder Bagua!!

His bagua gleamed as it was covered in haki. The dragon formed from sword intent clashed against the bagua, creating a shockwave.

Zoro face turned reddish as he pushed forward.

"Not enough!!"

Kaido yelled and stomped his feet. His strength took a leap as he forcefully shattered the dragon image.

Zoro was pushed back.

Right at the moment Luffy, Kidd and Killer attacked.

They pushed back Kaido from following upon on his attack.

Their battle took a leap.

Suddenly Kaido let out a wild laugh, "Worororo, you brats made me work up some sweat. Now, let's turn it up a notch!"

As he finished speaking the whole of Onigashima started to quake. The sky rumbled as dark clouds loomed over Onigashima.

"What's happening?!"

Luffy yelled.

Law who was beside him had a solemn look on his face as he said, "He is lifting up Onigashima!"

What?!

The ground started to shake. All of them faltered for a second as they sensed a weightless feeling.

From outside Onigashima, one would see the sea raging as the land slowly rose from the water.

Kaido laughed, "Worororo, let the mayham begin!"

Leo was silently drinking with Marco when he sensed something. He looked into the distance and showed a slightly surprised expression.

Not bad. Those brats actually held on for so long.

He shook his head and continued to drink. Marco didn't notice Leo's expression and asked.

"By tomorrow do you think everything would start anew?"

Leo paused for a second and said, "Yes. Whether they succeed or not, everything will still start anew before sunrise tomorrow."

Marco slightly curled his lips into a smile, "You promised the kid, didn't you?"

Leo laughed and didn't answer.

As Marco said Leo had promised Tama that everything would turn for the better from tomorrow onwards.

Finishing the bottle Leo stood up.

"I'll be back in a few."

Marco asked, "Finishing the job?"

Leo nodded.

Just as he was about to take off Marco suddenly asked, "You have stepped past a Yonko, haven't you?"

Leo didn't reply. He smiled and asked back, "Why do you say so?"

Marco drank from his bottle and said, "Before, I could still feel a certain oppression from you, but now... you seem like any other ordinary person on the street."

"This either happens when there is a large gulf between our strengths or, you have managed to control your powers well enough. And I don't think it's the latter."

Leo smiled, "Who knows, maybe it's both."

Marco paused for a moment before laughing.

Leo looked at the blinking stars and the bright full moon.

"It's a great night to send off a Yonko."
