1 Legacy

In the empty. Only a white shimmering light could be seen in the pitch black darkness. A voice emanates from the light, "Hello? Is anyone there?"

Silence.

"Where am I, and why can't I see anything? I remember something. Where was I before all this?

Flashback

Enzo was a kind child, a kind but rather unfortunate child. He was born with an incurable disease that plagued him throughout his childhood. But that did not bring him down. The doctors said it was already a miracle that he lived past 10 years old. When he was 15 years of age his body was finally slowing, doctors said he had about a year left to live. However, instead of living his last year to the fullest, he decided to do something selfless.

When he collapsed on his 15th birthday, he was sent to the hospital. There he met a girl of about 13 years of age. She had heart problems and was suffering. Enzo and the girl, Eve, grew close, they played together often and enjoyed each other's company.

One day Eve's heart started to fail and she needed a heart transplant if she was going to live to see the day. She needed a zero-mismatch and it just so happens that Enzo overheard the nurses talking about how he was a match. His heart was not affected by his disease so he swallowed his fear of death, and called his parents into his room. He told them he wanted to go early, and give his heart to Eve. His parents started to cry but they would not stop him as that was his last wish.

Present

"Right I died. I hope Eve's okay."

"So you've finally remembered." An ethereal voice echoed.

"Who's there? God?"

"I guess you can call me that yes," the voice answered. "I was very impressed by how you selflessly gave your heart to that poor little girl. This world has gotten so immoral that I was very satisfied with what I saw. Good job boy"

"Thank you, um...sir. So where is this place? Where am I? And why can't I see anything?"

"Well this place doesn't exist. Well not technically. I created this place for us to meet. And you can't see because you are just a corporeal piece of soul at the moment. But don't worry even if you could see, there would nothing you would be able to perceive here."

"Oh..."

"I brought you here because, yes, it's like what you are thinking, I want to reincarnate you into a different world. One with filled with magic and adventure. But I will let you keep your memories as I like the person you are with them. This is not entirely selfless of me though. Because I want you to become strong as I may require your help in the future." God explains.

"Hmm...okay. Well I appreciate that, but I do have some conditions."

God is slightly shocked but says "Let's hear them boy."

"I don't want to be reincarnated into a body of someone who died or as a baby, I want you to create a body for me and send me to that world with no attachments."

"Hmm interesting. What are your reasons for this?"

"Well seeing as how you want me to grow strong, if we follow the tropes of those reincarnation novels I'd just end up in a trash body that's underestimated, or have a loving family or sect. Both of which would just be tropes that would impede me or be exploited as a weakness. I've had the love of both my parents for close to 16 years and that's enough for me. I'll be my own man now."

God smiled (or did he, we can't tell), "You have thought this through huh?"

"Of course, I'm a bit of a weeb, but you would know that already wouldn't you?"

"Haha yes, I do. As a matter of fact I have a gift perfect for a weeb of your stature when you cross over. Good luck boy. Fulfill your legacy and I hope to see you again very soon!"

And with that, a flash. And the empty was empty once more.
