CH. 78: The Countdown to Extinction

(A/N: Oooh! Sadistic chapter :D )

A few weeks ago, Athena had been making the same nightmare everytime she'd fall asleep. The same dream repeating itself once again, where she'd see an unknown figure with long hair that swayed with the breeze, standing on a pile of corpses.

These dead people were recognizable, they were her fellow Greek Gods, every single one of them slaughtered and covered with irreversible wounds.

The figure lifts its hand and shows a decapitated head. It was Zeus's. Executed in a ruthless way. That brutal scene was enough to wake her up everytime. And she wasn't a Goddess of Knowledge for nothing, it must have meant something...

Athena woke up yet another time abruptly, she was starting to get sick by this repetitive event.

Walking through the corridors of the Olympian Palace, she happen to have encountered Zeus who was going through a quick report from one of his subordinates.

"Greetings, my Lord" Athena saluted him.

"Ah, Athena. Morning. Good thing you've come haha..." He laughed.

"What's funny my Lord?" Athena asked.

Zeus wrapped his arm around her then laughed it off before speaking his mind, "Hahaha, look, I considered your wisdom and decided not to go for those women I saw on the <Forseeing Orb>" He said.

"Yes?"

"Right, so I decided to send Nach't elite squad to hunt them down! That way, they won't know it was me!" Zeus continued.

Athena almost fainted. Her eyes widened in surprise and her jaw fell in shock. Her eyes started trembling and her legs collapsed from fear.

Suddenly, she started having visions of the same dream she had been seeing everytime during her sleep. Images of the unknown figure slaughtering the entire Greek Pantheon started flashing through her eyes like a literal jumpscare.

"KUYAAAAAAAAH!!!" Athena collapsed on the ground and ended up having a seizure. The images struck her mind and her eyes looking into an inexistent reality that foreshadowed a terrible outcome, led by Zeus and his impulses.

"A-Athena!" Zeus bent his knees and picked

"...It...It's all— c-connecting...." She mumbled half unconscious.

Zeus was panicking, not knowing what to do, he called some priests and healers to try and recover her health. Athena was very valuable after all and he was not going to let her go like that. Though they were all destined to go in the same way anyway.

The last survivor of the Greek Squad happen to also be the commander. Nach't was screaming his lungs out in pain from having his jaws and limbs brocken.

And in order to extract information from his sorry ass, Ultima had to step out and use a brutal way of torture which I'm going to be sparing you from. Trihexia was fascinated by Ultima's experience while the others were staring away as they weren't the type to be so enthusiastic concerning torture like Ultima.

"So, how was your weekend?" She asked while continuing the process.

"GAAAAAAAAH!!— PLEASE!! PLEASE STOP I'LL TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU KNOW JUST STOOOP!!!!" Nach't shouted through telepathy. He couldn't speak because his jaws were brocken to prevent him from committing suicide, though he still let out some primal sounds of fear through his throat and nose.

"Didn't you say that not a single word will leave your mouth?... Sigh..." She said in disappointement.

"I WAS ORDERED TO KIDNAP YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS BY ZEUS!!! THE REFERENCE IS IN MY POCKET SO PLEAASE STOOOP THIS PAIIIN!!!" Nach't screamed, brocken from the pain.

Ultima cutely blushed in appreciation. "Hehe~ Thank you~" She thanked him. She stretched her hand to his pocket and pulled out a picture and passed it directly to Akira.

Enveloping her palm with [Death Touch] she simply touched Nach't and caused his body to explode in a bloody mess of insides.

Trihexia applauded Ultima cheerfully. Ultima cutely bowed in appreciation. Meanwhile, Akira looked at the picture.

It only took him a second to realize what all this meant. Listening to Nach't scream of despair, Nach't spoke about the order being given to Zeus.

That bastard... Did he really think he could just mess with his harem like Akira did not exist...? Zeus was going to suffer the consequences of his attacks. And not only him but all the Greek Gods with no exception.

He had all the reason to eradicate the Pantheon now. The red circles on his girls on the photo was self-explanatory.

Genocide awaited those who try anything against his women. Zeus and the other innocent gods would learn it the hard way, not just the Greek Pantheon but all of DxD.

The Boundless Dragon God was having his return in stage.

"It's time to give Zeus and the Greek Gods a little greeting from mine." Akira mumbled. His voice was filled with so much killing intent the earth seemed to be shaking.

"I'll come with you too" Trihexia announced, getting closer to him.

"Only you." He replied. Akira then summoned hundreds of huge devils wings on each side that extended tens of meters. One swing of his wings was enough to create a storm of destructive winds.

He then flew to the sky at insane speed, and Trihexia followed him.

While Athena was still recovering from her seizure, Zeus was sitting on his throne with a few females dressed in luxurious clothes were surrounding him. They were clearly smiling but that was just the outside look. They were clearly uncomfortable in his presence, for he knows what he shamelessly does to him whenever his switch is turned on.

And that's exactly what's going to cause his demise... Just as Zeus started caressing one of the girls beside him, a messanger entered the throne room without warning.

Zeus flinched a little in surprise. Slamming his fist on the throne from anger. "WHAT IS IT HERMES?! I'M DOING WORK OF THE OUTMOST IMPORTANCE!!" Zeus shouted angrily.

Hermes, the quintessential messager of the Olympians, took a few seconds to take back his breath. "Haah...Haah... I-I'm sorry, Lord Zeus... But we're under attack!" He announced.

Zeus raised an eyebrow, "Under attack? Who would be foolish enough to attack the Almighty Greek Panth—" But just as he was pridefully announcing, the castle shook entirely, as if it was about to collapse.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING?!" Zeus yelled in confusion, getting up and leaving his throne.

"WE'RE UNDER ATTACKED BY A DRAGON!!" Hermes shouted in worry.

"Wh-Why a dragon would attack us?— Is it perhaps Fanrir, The Nordic Dragon?" Zeus asked.

The palace suddenly shook once again, the ceiling and walls started cracking and breaking, while dust fell from the ceiling and the pillars were starting to collapse.

Walking towards the huge window behind his throne, he looked at what seemed to be a colossal dragon too big for its race! His body seemed to be made out of a purple spectre as literal darkness flowed from the edges of his body.

The dragon roared ferociously and blew a scorching hot breath that melted every structure, carbonized every living tissue, and evaporated all demi-humans and gods.

Zeus felt shivers of fear and shock for the first time since a long time. Remembering the file joint with Azazel's report about the dragon from the Great War of the three factions.

"It-IT'S HIM!!" Zeus said in shock. The dragon that ended multiple gods effortlessly was at their door and demanding their heads.

"There's no way we could defeat such a monster!!" Zeus shouted in despair. He may be a Greek God but he couldn't do shit against one who erased a biblical god and four great Satans.

"Lord Zeus, I think our only option would be...." Hermes spoke. Zeus's attention centered on him.

"To summon Primordial Goddess Nyx" Hermes continued.

Zeus looked from the window once again, Akira was growing more and more impatient, he was only a few buildings away from attacking the castle.

Summoning Nyx was risky. Prideful in origin, she could deny their request for assistance or even worse, team up with Akira.

Though that remained a worst case scenario. Zeus sighed, there were no choices left.

"Then do." He replied.
