12 The bug

After travelling for an hour. Our heroes finally arrived at Clover. Clover was a small town situated in a mountainous area surrounded by a forest. There were only one safe way to go in and out of the town and this was to take the railways that was connected to the other town.

Arriving at the town, we directly head toward the Guild Meeting building which was of course the the biggest building here.

I was tasked to take care of Erigor, i didn't want to meet the Guild Master since Makarov seems to make me his sucessor and for how a talkers he is, i'm sure he already spoke a few word about me already.

Some time later, i can see a group of rune knight coming towards my direction, they are clad in a garish uniform, highly reminiscent of those worn by real priests: they don a long, high-collared, sleeveless dark robe over a light shirt with wide sleeves ending below the elbows, where they are circled by thin bands; the robe is covered on the front by a light cloth, bearing the dark,ankh-like symbol of the Council, held still by a light belt circling the waist. Around the soldiers' neck is a long, light cape bearing the Council's insignia on the back, held closed below the neck by a rhomboidal clasp adorned by a gem, and on their head sits a light headgear, with a decorated lower part, reminiscent of a mitre, but with three tops, a central one and two more at its sides. They also wear simple boots with the front parts covered in vertical stripes. Each Rune Knight comes equipped with a long metal staff, ending in a sphere, seemingly a globe made of crystal, topped by a small cross. And i see that in front of the group stood a slim man of average height with long, tied up black hair; two bangs frame his face and an unruly tuft covers his forehead, he is the famous head captain Lahar and it seems he is the one currently directing this operation. They stopped before me and Lahar was slightly eyeing Erigor who was behind me.

Lahar : Hello, I am Lahar, Captain in this squad of Rune knight. I was send by the magic council to investigate what had happened at Oshibana Station. Following the arrestation of the members of the Dark guild Eisen Wald we were heading to Clover who seems to be their objective. But I didn't think i would find here the famous Erigor already captured.

Marco : Oh they wanted to used an artifact to kill all the guild master here so we rushed and tried to intercept them, fortunaly we arrived in time or else it would throw the entire region in chaos. Think about it, several dozen of guild without a master it would be very dramatic.

Lahar : We can't thank you enough for arresting these guys and stop their plan. But now we will take care of the rest. I will personally explain to the higher ups your contribution in arresting Eisen Wald.

Marco : Then i will let you this big guys here make sure he don't escape during the travel.

I began to head towards Natsu and the rest seeing that they just come out from the building.

Erza : Let's go back.

We a nod and take the car making our way towards Magnolia at a slow pace. During the travel, Natsu always begged me to use my spell to help his motion sickness. I laughed at him at first then finally complied to his request. Other than some bickering between Gray and Natsu, the travel was pretty calm and we slowly arrived at Magnolia. We separated our way off and began to return home. The arc Eisen Wald ended and i don't know when the next arc will begin so i will just station a clone near the guild and he will warn me when the time came. Meanwhile i think i will continue my research, i have many inspirations and theories when i fighted against Erigor. Seeing a magic with multiple magic circle greatly picked up my interest and i wanted to experiment things really quickly. So aftet separating with the other i headed towards my laboratory and create multiple Shadow clone to take care of my business and replace the ancient one. Entering my laboratory, i quickly began researching and reading many book on magic while drawing many magic circle experimenting and trying to create different patern.

I was also thinking of a way to bring back Ur since they will soon go to Galuna Island. If there are a spell capable of transforming her body into ice than i think there is a spell capable to do the reverse. Marco : Hey System is it possible to do that ?

[ I though you would not depend too much on me ]

Marco : Aahh sorry maybe i should use you more often it is true that i didn't talk to you for a long time now. But that's for the future, can you answer my question please ?

[ It should be possible under certain condition, after all the characteristic of the spell is to transform a person into ice, if you can make the counter you will be able to undo the spell ]

Marco : But i don't have the patern of the magic circle ahhh system maybe you have it ?

[ Sigh, yeah i have it, you can found it inside the shop ]

[ Ice Shell ] : Iced Shell is a technique that uses the spirit and the physical body of the user to freeze the target into a block of ice. It is virtually unmeltable as it is not made of just typical ice. It channels the user's body into the form of ice, destroying their body in the process. Marco : WOW so expensive why is it so expensive since the spell is fatal.

[ Because it is still a secret technique and a forbidden one too, his value is still lower than most of the forbidden spell since this one need the user to transform itself into ice and can't undo the spell himself ]

Marco : Okay logical. Now let's study this beautiful magic circle hehehehehe.

[ I didn't think i would see someone with fetish for magic circle ]

After a 2 days of intense research,

Marco : Ahhh, this is quite tiring i just finished to analyze the outer part of the magic not even finishing one of the four magic circle. Hmmm maybe i should find a way to just take the ice and bring it here since it will not melt. I could also research the ice of Ur maybe found something interesting. System is there some kind of container able to hold all the ice inside ?

Marco : WOW talk about cheap, this thing cost a million jewel Arghh. Mmmh thinking about it is like a space storage magic so it will not be cheap. Whatever i have around 50 000 SP now and if i make my business correctly i can gain more money and also resurrecting Ur is still something more interesting than money. It's decided. Now let's continue my work, i need to quickly find a way to research these things. AHH How dumb i was i can just use my shadow clone to help me with my research, 2 brains are better than one. Let's go.

Then i created a hundred clone helping me in my various research. Some will study the Ice Shell spell, the magic circle, and other will try to improve the control of my magic.

Marco : I also need to find a way to become famous to expand my business correctly. Maybe i should create something revolutionnary. There didn't seems to have phone here, AH i know by utilising Lacrima i will be able to use it to communicate with other and maybe include other functionality but to do that i need to search how to compress a Lacrima because it is still too big to transport also it will not be able to integrate a screen. At first i should research the model of portable communication Lacrima. I know it would be invented in later years. I'm sorry but i think i will steal this famous invention since it would be highly beneficial for me and quite cheap. I will just improve the communication Lacrima next to make a mobile phone. Let's do this.

I decided to make some of the current clone change their goal and instead research on this miniature Lacrima. Since 100 is my max for clone, i can't create more of it. After that i was fully engrossed in my research.

2 month later.

Inside a laboratory, you could see hundred of people working on different topics but the characteristic of these people is that they share the same look. Then a group of these people started cheering like they have achieved something.

Marco : FINALLY, after 2 month of hard work we have finally been able to recreate the miniature Lacrima. It is quite a complex system since it needed to be connected to a network of Lacrima. We needed to used vibration magic to do these thing. By manipulating the vibration. We were able to send message to a bigger Lacrima who will send another signal which allows us to communicate in distance. We were able to reduce the size of the first communication Lacrima by taking off the Sound Magic and install a complicated program capable of using Vibration magic to reproduce the voice of the owner. And by further compressing the magic we are finally able to create this beauty. We needed to first understand the communication Lacrima. It take us a whole week just to understand the concept behind it. And it is very crude i should say. Even in earth they have a better technology than here. But since they have magic and Lacrima it is understable that they don't work too much on improving the technology. Whatever the only problem with this Lacrima is that it can be reproduced if you understand the principle behind it. Whatever i just need the popularity by creating this. I can gain Money with my business and it will be good.

Thinking about my next project, i glance at my other research. The examination of the Ice Shell spell is slowly advancing. They have understood around 3/4 of all the magic circle so it is quite good. The clone who improve my magic also have great advancement. Now i can create a domain with earth and wind at the same time with the same consumption than when i used with one element 2 month prior and halved the consumption of the domain if i only used one element. I have also mastered all element for my domain so it is quite easy now. I have also greatly improved my other spell and their efficiency. Now my level is around of God Serena. I think if i really go all out maybe i could defeat him but i will have some struggle. Of course i'm not at the level of Achnologia after all he had lived for several century now and trying to surpass him in just some month even with the system as cheat is something impossible.

Marco : Make sense. Hey but where are the quest, i completely forgot about them but now i rethink of it, you have said that it will appear when the story began.

[ The status will not change, the scan can now scan more powerfull people, for example you could scan Achnologia even if you have the strengh of a child, also give you more information about the person scanned. You have now acess to the shop of other world and buy the object with the same price as if you were in this world. The Inventory is now able to hold living people for 2 hours. The Quest now did not only revolve around the main storyline. You can now access to Sub-Quest ]

Marco : But wouldn't that mess up the whole storyline ?

[ Your presence itself have already changed the storyline, Natsu is stronger since he fight more often against you and also you gave him some help other people are also stronger like Lucy, Erza and Gray also in the real storyline Erigor isn't arrested ]

Marco : AHAHAH My bad, but about this Ice Maker Magic, i can do it myself since i can transform water in Ice if i diminish the energy and interaction with other element.

[ But it will not be as powerfull as the real Ice Make Magic ]

Marco : OK i understand after all, it is Ur who teach Ice Magic to Leon and Gray so i think that pass that i can have Ice Magic as Rewards. Now that this is finished let's go streched ourself a little outside.
