Bellona's POV
I hurried to the Central Cathedral where we had the Gloria every 6am,12pm, 3pm and 6pm.
Myself and fellow seraphims led everyone in the Elysium to sing to the glory of the big boss.
We called him our Heavenly King, only the Arch angels had ever set eyes on him. The rest of us just felt his might soar theough the air once in a while.
We had the Gloria three times every day to help strenghten the veils.
Those curious humans kept punching holes into it by mistake, peraonally it really annoyed me. Why couldn't we reveal ourselves to them and tell them to stop?
Apparently, disastrous thing would happen if we did that. At least, that's what my superiors constantky told me everytime I brought it up.
Everyone had a specific pew to which they were to sit. There were different levels to the Cathedral and you sat at your designated pew on the level that you were.
At the very bottom were the saints; humans who had pleased the big boss whilst they were on earth. Each of them where given a section of earthly affairs to deal with.
As I walked in, I saw St. Camillius from Lellis who was the saint for doctors and St. John Vianney who was the same for priests wave atme already in their seats
Above them were the Dominicans, exulted saints who whilst on earth were cardinals and popes. Out of these, were my personal enemies. For some reason, everytime I was doing something remotely fun that was against the rules the Pope Leo's always told on me.
As I passed that level, I was glad they hadn't arrived yet. Their sneering , turned up noses were no where to be seen. I hope all sixteen of them have been sent to purgatory.
But I don't get why sixteen people in entirely different generations would want to be remembered forever as Leo. What was so special about that name?
I pondered on that question, as I had many times before as I climbed up to the next level.
The Seraphims; though I was a dual angel, I preferred to sit amongst my fellow seraphims and sing during the Gloria; no other group of entities in the Elysium had this privilege
The Gloria was one of the most beautiful songs to be ever created. It was made by Archangel Raphael who was the very first seraphim to be created.
On top of the seraphim level were the cherubim, guardian angel and Arch levels.
The Central Cathedral was the biggest in the universe. It was circular so that all the pews in all the levels were facing the centre.
At the centre was a golden ball. It was so tiny that it could fit inside my palm.
After everyone had settled down, Archangel Raphael gave the signal for us to begin.
With each line we sing, a strand of bluish, silvery light is released from our mouths and wraps itself around the ball.
By the time we've sang sang our way through half of the song, the light strands wrap around themselves in fast fluid motions steadily becoming bigger.
As the last note is sung and resonates around the circular area, the ball becomes the biggest it can be. Taking majority of the space in the room.
And then all of a sudden it disappeared woth a loud pop. The good essence had been released into the earth. Granting all the humans who were worthy of it good luck and strengthening the veil.
Only the tiny golden ball could be seen and it would remain that way till we sang again later in the evening.
Everyone began to leave the Cathedral in an orderly fashion. Starting from the topnost level of the Archs and ending with the saints.
I always felt slightly light-headed after singing. I hurried back to my quarters and lay down, trying to get rid of my light headedness.
After a while it cleared and my thoughts turned to the demon prince residing in the holding cell a couple of miles away.
He was the most bipolar person I had met. Flirting with you one minute, insulting you the next, acting concerned at the next instant.
I wonder if what he said was true, was he truly a hybrid as he claimed to be? How could there be another one? That was impossible.
I needed to get proof of him being what he said he was.
Sigh, only time will tell.
