Jax's POV
As I sit in my holding cell, I think.
Why the fuck did I come here on the first place.
It's like I wanted to reveal the Realms biggest secret to everyone. I knew the angels didn't like being disturbed but I still came.
I came looking for answers. Heck, I'm still looking for them. Now look what that led me to, sitting in a fucking cell like a freaking prisoner.
Who am I kidding even if they didn't lock me up or even throw me out, I still would not have gotten my answer.
All these angels had three things in common: they were soft-spoken, resistant to truth and change and all of them had a fucking halo.
That angel that interrogated though was different. Soft-spoken was definitely NOT an adjective I'd use to describe her.
She was like the real life version of those feisty, independent princesses you'd find in those crappy movies by disney that children couldn't seem to get enough of.
I wouldn't mind seeing her again...
Speaking of the devil or in this case the angel. I see her walking through the hallway coming straight for my cell. She doesn't look pissed though.
"Hi again", she began speaking as if this entire encounter was uncomfortable for her. "I understand that I was quite bitchy the first time so let me start over. I'm Bellona and I will be the one interrogating you today. Why did you come here?"
"You don't want to know how I came here?",I asked her cautiously.
"No, I dont. If I knew the intention behind you coming here then how you did it would not really make any difference. It's the thought that counts, right?", she said speaking quite bluntly.
"How do I know you won't tell the others? How do I know that I can trust you?", I asked her softly.
"Well of course I'd have to tell the Arch Angels. You are being held for forceful breaking and entering which is a high crime here in the Elysium. Anything that'll help your case would have to be told to them.", she said offended that I even thought she would withhold information from the Archs.
"You know,I thought you were different Angel.", I said with a disappointed sigh.
"Aguilera, Bellona Aguilera. That's my name.", she said her voice still and soft.
"Well, Bellona. Something big is going to happen and it's gonna be all my fault and I need your help but you can't tell the old Archies about it. I've already bothered them enough.
I know you're obligated to tell them and I know that yoy could get thrown into purgatory for disobeying them but this is more important than a bunch of stupid rules."
"Fine.", she said with a huff, "I won't tell them. So will you tell me what's going on?"
She seemed genuine about leeping her mouth shut so I began to tell her everything from the start.
"I'm not who you think I am. I mean I am an heir to Erebos but the thing is, I'm not fully demon. I'm a hybrid; I'm part angel, part demon and part human."
She looked mortified after I disclosed my secret but remained silent. "But that's not the reason I'm here. I'm here because the ruler of Erebos, my grand father, Asmodeus has found a way to use what I am to his advantage.
He wants to control all the three realms and if he channels my life essence the way he wants to, he'd be able to do exactly that. But then, I'd become fully human and I don't want to do that all for that asshole. He's done nothing for me, he doesn't deserve anything from me", I said bitterly
" So how do I come in.", she asked. "Well you're a guardian aren't you? I need someone on the inside to help me convince the angels to fight my grandfather's plan."
"Not everyone's like me...", she paused waiting for me to tell her my name.
"Jax Escobar."
"Jax.", she said softly as if she was testing out how my name would sound from her mouth.
"Well as I was saying, not everyone is like me,Jax. You're lucky you got assigned to me. Most would have locked you up and had you in front of the Archs in a second"
"I know. That was my plan actually. To tell this to them but then I realised that that mught not be the best."
"You thought right then. Us entities in the Elysium don't like involving ourselves in violence.
I don't mind it but you'd be surprised how effy the army here is when it comes to battle. Its shocking how they were able to throw out Hades and the rest of your lot the first time. ", she said.
"They're not my lot? I'm special, babe.", I said with a coy smile. "Whatever. So what do we do now?", she asked.
"I told you. Help me convince other angels so that when we tell the Archs they have no choice but to go along with it."
A bell rung shrilly in the distance. "It's three o'clock," Bellona said in alarm before looking back at me.
"I have to go. I can't be late for the Gloria. I'll try and see what I can do about convincing the others and ofcourse, getting you out of this cell. I'll see you when I can. Bye. "
"Bye, Bellona. Thanks for believing me." I whispered the last part silently to myself.
