19 Revenge of the Fallen

“Barachiel,” Adriel came, rushing and grasping for breath.

“What is it? What’s wrong with you?” Barachiel asked.

“We have an emergency. The earth is in great danger,” Adriel answered.

“What do you mean—”

Barachiel was cut off by another angel. “Barachiel . . . It’s Gabriel.”

“What happened to Gabriel? Could you please supply with complete information?” Barachiel furrowed his brows in annoyance.

“Gabriel is . . .Ahm . . . See for yourself,” Adriel answered before waving his hand before them, creating a view of the earth.

The rest of the angels followed and were astonished to see Gabriel, turning into a human being in the hands of Amber. Flying in the skies on her wings, she had Gabriel pressed against her chest. The latter was struggling for breath and was struck with fear.

“Well, well. It’s time to say goodbye, Archangel,” Amber said, loosening her grip.

“No please. You can’t do this. Please don’t do this to me,” Gabriel begged.

“I don’t think I can grant you with such request, Archangel Gabriel. See you in hell.”

Amber’s double-edged wings spread wide open and pierced Gabriel through his heart. His body burst into flames as he fell back to the earth.

Barachiel closed his eyes and sighed. Clenching his fist, he walked towards Micca and opened the cell.

“I am giving you multiple missions to accomplish, and you have to fulfill them at once. Go back to your vessel and stop her. Danger is at hand Micca, and it all started in you.” Barachiel’s voice was stern. He opened the cell, releasing Micca who had just woken up from a deep sleep.

“But Barachiel, you have just purified Micca’s soul. His vessel is far from being controllable now. I’m afraid it’s too dangerous for him. Who knows what the worst is?” Gideon said.

“I understand your concern, Angel Gideon, but this is an emergency,” Barachiel said, walking away. “Raise an emergency alert! Secure the gates! Adriel, it is your duty to be on guard as the gatekeeper. All returning angels from the earth must be purified in the cell of purification,” Barachiel said in a loud voice. Adriel nodded in response.

“But Barachiel, the process of purification itself is overwhelming and painful,” Gideon said.

“This . . . is an emergency.” Barachiel turned to Gideon. “We cannot take risks. When Micca comes back, he will be purified again . . . at a higher degree.”

“Wait, what is going on?” Micca asked, confused.

“Take this. From now on, keep an eye on this.” Barachiel said, throwing him the little hourglass to catch. “Gideon, go! You all are fond of abusing time, and I am really disappointed,” he said, turning to Micca. “Go . . . kill your vessel.”

Barachiel motioned his finger, making Gideon and Micca disappear.

Amber

I landed on a desert and returned to my human form. Blake suddenly showed up with a grin and nothing could ever compare how pissed I was.

“Congratulations, Amber. I bet you have mastered your angel-human transformation. I admire your increasing agility, courage, and your prowess to kill. I am so proud for your first 'angel kill.' Not to mention you have just killed an archangel!” Blake clapped his hands. "Gabriel . . . was a headache. I have you to thank."

I scoffed. “Really? Well, I discovered that I have the power to turn an angel into a human being. Shall we try it with a demon and start with you?” I said.

“Ah-ah.” Blake shook his head. “Let’s take it slow. Listen, Riley has changed his mind. He thought of a . . . a new way to convince you. Something that you can never resist,” he said with a smirk.

“And what makes you think that this latest discovery would convince me to join your team in hell?”

“Hmmm . . .” Blake snapped his finger. Out of nowhere, a familiar whining voice echoed. “Sounds familiar?”

“C-Cassie?” I muttered, surprised.

I looked around, but all I see was a desert in the wind. I walked around, searching for the source of the voice only to end up disappointed.

“No, this is not real. You can’t fool me, Blake. Try harder,” I said, turning my back at him.

“Really? Then who is this?”

Aw! Aw!

My body froze for a moment, stopping me in my tracks. I looked around and saw Cassie in my own eyes. She was barking while running towards me. I hurriedly rushed towards her and threw my arms around her, but my world seemed to stop when she disappeared before my eyes. I looked at Blake with clenched fists as he held Cassie in his arms.

“You traitor! Do not touch her, or I promise you, I . . . will . . . kill . . . you!”

“Then let’s agree on something, Amber. Surrender yourself, or watch your lovely pet die . . . slowly and helplessly.”

“Shut up!” I screamed out loud as my wings spread out.

Blake laughed devilishly. "I knew it. That's what I like in you. Pushing your buttons isn't difficult after all, isn't it? I wonder what I should do with your pet to make you scream for mercy. Shall I drain its blood? Shall I break its bones?"

My wings were blazing with fire, joining the fiery heat of the sun. I furiously walked towards Blake to take Cassie away from him, but he vanished instantly. Seeing him disappear made me go berserk, screaming in anger as my wings uncontrollably threw balls of fire elsewhere.

“Show yourself, you coward! You will pay for this, Blake! You and your master! Give her back to me!”

My emotions were at its highest point, I could no longer control myself. Fire emerged from the ground and surrounded me as I and fire became one.

“Show yourself, idiot!” I continued screaming. “

“Tell me when you’re ready. I’ll see you soon, Amber.” Blake’s voice made me frantically crazy.

“Give her back!”

Micca and Gideon fell on the ground. Looking around, they found themselves on an empty highway.

“So, where are we gonna start looking for your vessel?” Gideon asked.

“I don’t know. I feel something . . . ” Micca answered.

“You feel hungry . . . that’s it. And it’s hot under this scorching heat of the sun. That’s what I feel. Let’s find some shelter, buddy.”

“How can you feel the heat of the sun when you are not using a vessel?” Micca said annoyingly.

“Oh, right. You’re right.” Gideon smiled awkwardly.

Just then, they saw a huge blazing fire from afar.

"What is that?" Gideon uttered.

"I don't know," Micca responded. "Let's find out."
