Chapter 6: Dangerous

Caleb's POV:

I looked around for Angel but I didn't see her. I walked all around this house for her but no sign of her. Then I saw Skylar and Riley. I walked up to them. "Oh hey Caleb." Skylar said. "Where did Angel go?" I asked, curiously. "She went upstairs to the bathroom I think." She said. "I was just upstairs. I didn't see her." I said. Just then, a girl came over crying. "Skylar!! You have to come upstairs!! Right now!!" She cried. She pulled Skylar up the stairs.

Riley followed them. I walked away and continued looking for Angel. I looked up and saw a couple kissing on each other. The dude pulled her to the back door and outside to the backyard. There's a backyard? I walked out and looked around. I immediately saw Angel talking to a grown man. I immediately recognized him. He was the owner of Butterfly Effect Corporation. I looked around and crouched down behind a bush.

I can't let him see me. I touched my earpiece and heard static. "Dad?" I called. "Caleb? What's up?" He asked. "We've got company. Gustavo is here." I said. "Shit. No doubt his wife is far behind. Where is he?" He asked. "He's in the backyard talking to Angel." I said. "Where are you?" He asked. "I'm also in the backyard." I said. "WHAT?! Hide!! Now!!" He yelled. "Dad calm down. I'm already hidden." I said. I looked at Gustavo.

He was talking to Angel as if he'd known her his whole life. "What's he doing now?" Dad asked. "He's just talking to Angel." I said. "Stay there. I'm coming back there." He said. Then I heard static. I waited for about three minutes before Gustavo touched his ear. Uh oh. He must have men here too. He stood up and said something to Angel. Then he walked away back into the house. Angel soon followed. I followed her. She walked over to the stairs, where Skylar and Riley were.

Skylar was crying. She said that her friend was murdered. "What?" I said. They all looked at me. "Whoa. What happened?" Ramón asked, as he came up beside me. "Skylar's friend was murdered. They found her dead in the bathroom." Riley said. "Oh damn. Who would do that?" Ramón asked. I looked at him. "Let's find Kyle." I said. "No need." He said, as he approached us. He pulled me and Ramón to the side. "Skylar's friend was murdered by the Russian Mafia." He said.

"What? They're here?" Ramón asked. "Yeah. I just saw Gustavo outside in the backyard talking to Angel." I said. "About what?" He asked. I shrugged. "Why did they kill Skylar's friend?" Ramón asked. "Yeah why? What she do?" I asked. "She apparently got into with Wanda." He said. "That's Gustavo's wife." I said. He nodded. "Yeah. Wanda then dumped the punch bowl on her and they got into it upstairs. So Wanda had her guards kill her." He said. "Damn." I said.

"Then Angel was coming to the bathroom so Wanda distracted her then took her downstairs and to the backyard." He said. "What were they arguing about?" I asked. He shrugged. "This was before we got here." He said. "Kyle how did you know this?" I asked, curiously. "I was hiding in the bedroom Wanda was in." He said. I blew a breath. "Well my Dad already knows Gustavo is here. It wouldn't surprise me if he started shouting right now." I said.

"What about the girls? This is a party after all." Ramón said. He walked over to them. Kyle comforted Skylar. "We need to call the police." Angel. "No!! I mean look. We just need to-" Mom cut me off by coming over to us. "Caleb, there you boys are. Skylar your friend is great at throwing parties." She said. "I'm sorry but the party is gonna have to be cut short. My friend was just murdered in the bathroom upstairs." Skylar said.

Mom stared at her then smiled. "No she wasn't." She said. "Yes she was. Her sister just told me and I seen her body." Skylar said. Mom turned around and Skylar's friend appeared smiling. "Hey Sky." She said. "What? I just saw-" the girl cut her off. "Skylar it is a Halloween party. Good prank huh?" She said, laughing. Skylar glared at her. "That wasn't funny. I get that it's Halloween but you shouldn't pull pranks like that. Your sister is worried sick." Skylar said.

"Is she calling the police right now?" The girl asked. Skylar nodded. "Well go stop here. You see I'm right here, perfectly fine." She said. Then she walked away. Skylar went upstairs and talked to the girl I seen earlier. "Yo that prank was not funny." Angel said. "Yeah. I mean I'm all for pranks but murder is not a laughing matter." Riley said. I scoffed and pulled Mom to the side. "So the girl is really dead?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yep. The Russian Mafia took their kill and left. Your father is looking for Gustavo. I just came to check on you boys. Be careful. The Russian Mafia is extremely dangerous." She said. "Mom we're fine. We can take care of ourselves." I said. She rolled her eyes and walked away. That was smart of Mom though. Her power is illusions. It was similar to Skylar's power. I read on her file that she was recently Evaluated. Her power was copies. She can make copies of people, animals, or objects.

I walked back over to Angel. "So what now?" I asked. "We drink. It is a party." Ramón said nudging Riley. She smiled. "Yeah. He's right. Let's party." Skylar said. We all walked over to the kitchen and began to drink. Shot after shot after shot, we turned up. I looked at Angel as she downed her jello shot. She looked at me and smiled. She blushed. Ramón then kissed Riley. Kyle then kissed Skylar. I looked down at Angel. She giggled at me. She pulled me down and whispered something in my ear. "I wanna go outside." She said. She pulled me outside to the backyard. We sat down on the bench she and Gustavo were sitting on earlier. I put my arm around her as she rested her head on my chest. I felt tugs on my arm. I turned around and saw Kyle and Ramón. "Caleb where were you? Your Dad is freaking out!!" Kyle said. "It doesn't matter right now. Where is he?" I asked. "Follow me!!" Ramón said. We all ran out the door and down the street.
