"Angy?"

The moment her college nickname reached her ears, Angel's face turned to stone. The petite woman with fluffy brown hair and big hazel eyes looked at her in surprise. The man beside her, dressed in a business suit, neatly groomed, resembled very much a statue as he stared straight at Angel. All three of them shared the initial lack of reaction, however, the upcoming emotions were certainly different.

"ANGY! It's really you!" Jenny, her former best friend squeaked as she let go of Joffrey and threw her arms around Angel's neck. "I knew you would make it! I told you, Joff, she would come! I'm so sorry about everything, but I love you and I'm so glad you came! It wouldn't be the same without you!"

Angel was spared a response by Joff's cough. "Ehm, Jenny, darling, I doubt that she came for our wedding. From her looks, I would say she was just leaving. Done with your one night stand, I assume?" His voice did not try to conceal the hate as he turned his cold eyes to Angel. She hadn't expected anything better from her ex-boyfriend, but he had some guts making it seem like she was the one to blame. But once again, she was saved from having to remark by Jenny's quick intervention.

"Joff! How can you talk to her like that! Apologize! Angy's a great person and she doesn't deserve this treatment from you!" Joff looked taken aback. Angel almost chuckled. A great person? Who doesn't deserve this treatment? She didn't know which was worse, but she knew that getting out of this situation was the best thing that could happen to her right now.

"You forgot something!" She heard someone call out from behind her. Automatically, she turned around and saw the man from earlier standing there, breathing heavily but with a relieved expression on his face. Unwillingly, a smile lifted her face as a thought formed in her mind. And with a voice which she hoped sounded excited, she called out the first word that came into her mind, "Darling!"
