56 Chapter 11: Breaking the Bias.

"Now that I have opened my deliberation, if there are any questions from your side, please ask away." Yuki said as he beckoned a stage crew member to hand him a bottle of water.

The reporters raised their hands, Yuki scanned his eyes through the audience and picked up a familiar figure. A beautiful woman with amethyst hair and cerulean skin, a mature figure and glowing emerald eyes, she was none other than Chitose Kizuki.

Yuki smiled to see her presence and picked her to ask the questions. He pointed his finger at her as he stared right into her eyes. She was sitting a bit towards the back and with many journalists standing up in eagerness to be picked first, it was quite hard to spot her.

Yuki tapped the mike again and the audience took their seats with only Chitose standing with a notepad in her hand, her beautiful eyes showing a myriad of emotions, shock, determination, respect and finally hope.

"Mr. Yaoyorozu, what do you think about the people with mutation type quirks?" she asked with a nearly perfect face of stoicism, but her expectant eyes gave her away.

"A very good question to help me elaborate on what I am trying to achieve here. Let's have a round of applause for the beautiful lady with amethyst hair. And for the answer, let's have a little history lesson, did you folks read about the person known as 'the mother of quirk'?"

While some of them knew who she was and some who were clueless, Chitose was reeling in shock at the question. Yuki smiled, "looks like some of you folks have no idea on what I am talking about. In the past, when society was going through a though crisis, when Meta Abilities were feared and their users hated, an unknown woman gave birth to Chikara Yotsubashi, a boy with a meta ability."

"By having a super power, Chikara was marginalized and despised. His mother spoke out against this discrimination by claiming that his power was simply one of his "Quirks". She pleaded for a world where people with Quirks have the same rights and considerations as everyone else. Unfortunately, no one listened to her and she ended up being murdered by an anti-meta group."

"With the proliferation of the Quirks, the government began to regulate their use. In order to achieve it, they co-opted the words of the woman when they brought order back to the world, and the Quirks were accepted. Therefore, the woman became known as 'The Mother of Quirks', but do you know what her name is?"

"We live in a world where quirks are the norm, but when she was alive, the norms were quite different. A normal person was not supposed to have a quirk and the one who had a quirk was labelled as a 'monster'. She, who was known as the mother of quirks, but none of us know what her name was. She was the one who brought the change and her son was the one who stood up against the ANTI-META Army, her son who she had fondly name as her strength, 'chikara', that's the name she had given her son."

"The time was known as the Era of Chaos, Chikara was against this control system. He claimed that the government seized and misrepresented his mother's words to restrict the use of Quirks, believing that free use of Quirks is a basic human right. To fight for that ideal, he unified the liberationist to form the Meta Liberation Army and took on the name Destro - the one who would destroy the status quo."

"While the government trudged ahead with legislation, Destro and his followers opposed the powers that be and vied for supremacy prompting a struggle for several years until the militia group was ultimately defeated. Following their defeat, the group seemingly disbanded and the Meta Liberation Army's grand commander, Destro, was incarcerated along with several of its members. After an unknown period of time, Destro took his own life during imprisonment."

"The Era of Chaos came to an end that was marked with the blood of a thousand innocents. Innocents that had nothing to do with the power struggle. His dream was noble but the path he took was wrong, dead wrong I would say, but that's something we humans have been doing since the time immemorial. Talking about peace whilst spilling blood, that's something only we humans can do with righteousness."

"Human beings are nothing but a medium of the general process of carrying out life. We do want to live in peace, but want to win it over by war because ultimately victory is what brings them peace. The victor is the King and the loser shall be the bandit, while the clenched fist has been the biggest argument of all. That's the barbaric idiocy we have been doing since we learned to know shame and cover ourselves."

"Now tell me, does it remind you of something?" Yuki paused as his eyes scanned the crowd.

"Yes, you foolish people are doing the same thing that was done to you on your own kind. 'Villainous Quirk', does that ring a bell?"

The audience and the ones watching the live telecast were taken aback. Their faces pale as they realized that they were treating people the same as they were treated. For baseless fears that they might turn into criminals who misuse their quirks, just for the same fears they did the same injustice that people did against them.

Chitose who was in the crowd had tears in her eyes. While countless other realised their wrongs, many parents were embracing their children in tears, sobbing, as they apologised for their wrongs.

But at this tender moment a bloody idiot spoke up, "all your words sound well and good but are you ignorant of the dangers they might pose to the society? To us and our children?"

Yuki looked at the middle-aged man and smiled like the tiger who found an unsuspecting sheep. But the others who were impassioned with a sense to correct themselves were almost about to pounce on the man and bite him, Yuki spoke up again, "what's your name and do you have a quirk?"

"My name is Hiashi Yamakawa, and my quirk is telekinesis." He said in apprehension.

Yuki started clapping as he chuckled, "congratulations old man, you have a villainous quirk."

"Are you out of your mind, how can my quirk be villainous?" The man was about to continue, but he stopped when he felt the pointed nip of the pen he was using in front of his left eye.

"You see old man, if you wanted you could have killed or crippled the people beside you before the security could take any action. You could do that anytime you wished, only a single thought and the nice lady beside you would be bleeding to death. This is because you never trained your powers, if you did you could have even used our own clothes against us like Best Jeanist, holding us hostage in a second for your nefarious intentions. Tell me should I put you in a cage and spit on you each time I come across you? Would that make you happy?"

Yuki's words made the people bow their heads in shame while the ones who were facing the bias smiled as they shed tears of joy, they had nothing and they wanted nothing, only to make people understand that they are the same as them, they too deserved to live a life and find happiness, love and be loved. Himiko, Chitose and a few others could not help but break down in tears, knowing that there was someone willing to speak up for them, someone to stand beside them.

"The next diet meet will abolish any and all bias. For the people out there, yes the ones who were forced to live the life of an outcast, hide in the shadows like pariahs, go to the nearest KINGDOM, you will be received there with open arms, you will be given all that you duly deserve, food, shelter, education, employment, understanding and RESPECT. The system shall change and I give you my word on it, by the next week, nobody will dare to look down on you, cast you away, disrespect you or cause you any harm. The Special Forces and THE WALL shall do a complete sweep and find any and all such people and bring them to the KINGDOM facilities starting right now. Have hope, for I am here, you will be alright."

Yuki said as he gave a warm smile of reassurance, right then his eyes fell on a boy his age, a boy he knew very well, a boy who was supposed to be the next symbol of peace, the boy named Izuku Midoria.

"Next question, if my previous words did not answer your doubts." Yuki spoke again.
