4 The Passing of Time

(A/N: Rewritten)

Yasuo woke up, feeling a light flow of tears rolling down his face. He quickly used his pajama's sleeves to remove the evidence before letting his eyes wander around the room.

As the sight of Vyra quietly sleeping on her bed entered his eyes, he took a deep breath and looked out of the nearby window to confirm the time.

He quietly lifted his blankets, exiting the bed and exiting the room, carefully minding not to awaken Vyra. He proceeded to head downstairs right after a swift visit to the bathroom. The familiar sight of Shisui cooking greeted Yasuo as he took an empty seat on the meal table.

"Good morning, Shisui-san," greeted Yasuo. The butler greeted back with a small nod as he carried plates of food onto the table. Yasuo made a slight laugh, "It's almost like you have my entire schedule noted down, Shisui-san." The fellow only chose to give a strange smile, continuing to carry plates to the table.

Soon, all of the prepared food was set down. "Itadakimasu!" Yasuo said, clapping his hands together. Then, the Reincarnator began eating. One by one, the rather large plates of food started to quickly empty.

But, just as quickly, Shisui habitually moved back and forth to the kitchen, refilling cleared dishes while his [Shadow Clones] cooked and cleaned.

"Thanks for the meal, Shisui-san!" Yasuo grinned as he finished stuffing his mouth after minutes of eating. Shisui nodded back. Cleaning his mouth with a towel, Yasuo next headed upstairs, location: their bedroom. The purpose was to wake up Vyra—if she wasn't already awake.

Reaching the door of the bedroom, Yasuo began gently knocking.

"Coming!" Vyra's slightly rushed voice came echoing, and shortly, the door flung open. Seeing her 'twin brother,' Vyra's face showed pleasant surprise, soon forming into a lovely smile. "Onii-chan, hurry and dress up, let's go!" She was wearing a light-purple kimono fitted with a white obi.

Yasuo furrowed his brows, just then remembering he had promised Vyra to a puppet show and Academy was off. "Okay okay," he replied, before quickly wearing a simple white colored t-shirt and pants. Vyra had already gone downstairs, beginning to eat her breakfast.

Izuna and Miyrae had yet to awaken—it was a rare rest day for the two. They had no problems with the twins going to see a puppet show by themselves.

Not to mention Shisui, who was always secretly stalking behind the two, just in case of any danger. His [Shadow Clones] would take care of the house for him.

Heading downstairs and seeing Vyra outside waiting for him through a window, Yasuo grabbed himself an apple before going outside as well. "You're finally here, Onii-chan! What took you so long?" Vyra demanded, crossing her arms across her chest.

Choosing not to reply, Yasuo took a bite from his apple and shrugged. The Goddess pouted in response, but only grabbed Yasuo's hand and began leading the way.

The streets were pack-filled with people wandering around.

As there was no Academy, many children were with their parents and, like Yasuo and Vyra, some were heading toward the puppet show too. The Academy ran on a five-day schedule, much like that of Yasuo's previous world's school schedules.

Also, with the nearing Rinne Festival, most ninjas of the Regular Forces were given short breaks.

From Yasuo's knowledge, the Rinne Festival was one the very few holidays that the Leaf celebrated, hence the reason for the vacation.

During the holiday, friends and family would exchange gifts with one another, and much like Christmas, it happens during the cold season.

Yasuo and Vyra soon arrived at a large and noisy theater with hundreds of seats. It was hosting the puppet show and, as the play was free to watch, the auditorium was quickly filled up.

The host and sponsors of the event were generous enough to give away food to the guests as well.

The reason for the generosity was quite simple: appealing to the masses. As many people from both ordinary families and clans come to see the play, appealing to them would only increase wealth and popularity.

The chatter continued throughout the theater but soon stopped with the entering of the exhibitor. "Welcome, everyone!" he began, smiling to the large crowd. "Please sit back, relax, and enjoy your refreshments. The show will shortly begin."

The exhibitor exited the stage, and a few minutes later, the puppet show had finally begun.

The play began with the introduction of the main heroine, Sakura. She was a young, budding miss with bright purple hair, whose family was debt-ridden. The story advances to Sakura's teenage years, where she endures through bullying due to her strange hair color and poverty.

But, she one day finds her hero, a brave, kind, and mature boy by the name of Shirou. He had saved her from her bullies, and it was then that she had fallen in love.

The story then ended with the pair becoming wedded and living happily ever after.

Several of the audience stood up and clapped with the ending of the play. Many felt that the show was refreshing and new.

As the warfare theme was much 'dried out' and overused, the different romance and bullying themed show was welcoming.

But, the group that was most attracted to this type of play was, of course, young girls. After all, the concept of the show was to draw in girls.

If categorized, the genre of the play would be 'shoujo,' a style aimed toward primarily a young female audience.

Yasuo, however, felt that the play was rather bland.

Unlike the world of Naruto, where the stereotypical 'knight in shining armor saves the princess' was new, it was undoubtedly not the same for the much more modern world of Earth.

Nevertheless, he still applauded at the end of the play, seeing as how Vyra seemed to enjoy it.

"Let's go home~!" Yasuo smiled happily, now walking out of the theater, feeling great that the hour-long show was over.

Vyra smiled back, replying, "Okay, but let's get some food first!" The twins were frankly gluttons. Even with the ample shares of food provided by the hosts of the puppet show, the two were still very much unsatisfied.

Yasuo quickly nodded in agreement, and the two went to explore the streets to look for a restaurant. The payer of the soon-to-be feast would be Yasuo, being practically a walking bank. He had gotten quite a lot of ryō from AM's quests.

But, as the pair were walking along, a familiarly cold voice ringed abruptly into Yasuo's mind: (Warning! [Phenex Bloodline Vial] will soon expire in three days!)

Yasuo blinked before slight panic came rushing in, and with such, an unnoticeable shiver ran down his spine.

'AM, use the [Bloodline Vial]!' Yasuo commanded the system, not regarding the consequences of doing so at all.

(Ding! Using [Phenex Bloodline Vial]...)

___

"Onii-chan, let's go there!" Vyra excited pointed at a yakiniku restaurant as she gently pulled on Yasuo's sleeve. "Onii-chan?" Vyra called yet again, turning to look at her twin brother, only to get no response once more.

She had noticed the blank look on Yasuo's face. It was strange, almost as if he was unconscious. And suddenly, realization had hit her as her eyes became watery.

"Onii-chan!" Vyra cried out, frantically shaking his body in hopes that her intuition was incorrect—with Yasuo not being a complete and utter idiot.

Vyra's worrisome shout had drawn spectators to both her and the unresponsive Yasuo. And in the crowd, was an already disguised Shisui, ready to dive into action any second. He was wearing a simple kitsune mask, stolen from a random nearby shop.

Shisui had quickly cast an [Genjutsu] upon the mob of people. It was an uncomplicated illusion of confusion, set to only last for some short seconds. And thus with that, Shisui swiftly shifted around the crowd, soon reaching the twins in the open center.

He grabbed onto the two of them and flickered away.

But, naturally, there were some unaffected by Shisui's [Genjutsu]. Among them, a few had even had the chance to see his [Mangekyō Sharingan], which Shisui had unintentionally activated by instinct.

After all, the [Mangekyō Sharingan] was very distinctive. But, ultimately, it was a decisive moment. Who knows what would have happened if he didn't reach the twins soon enough.

And, but of course, rumors would soon spread as well. The news of a very-well-possible [Mangekyō Sharingan] user was important.

It could, by all means, change a nation's fate—much like the incident of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's Attack.

However, to those who had significant information concerning the Uchiha Clan, they couldn't recall a newly 'birthed' [Mangekyō Sharingan] user at all! But, even more importantly, why did the [Mangekyō Sharingan] user come for the pair of siblings?

Who were they? There were many guesses. The most popular theory though was Izuna Uchiha's twins.

News regarding the birth of the twins had already known by the citizens of Konoha. And such a scene where a rare [Mangekyō Sharingan] user saves two children in the street begins to make more sense to the masses.

The twins were nobles after all.

Meanwhile, Vyra and Shisui had already arrived back to their home. Unbeknown to what would soon circulate throughout the large village.

Shisui set down Yasuo onto his bed and silently began to prepare dinner downstairs, while Vyra decided to stay with the unconscious boy.

Soon, Shisui had finished making supper. Vyra, rather unwillingly, came downstairs. The affair was quiet and brief. Neither of the two had the appetite, even in front of immensely tempting food.

As dinner came to an end, Vyra made her way to sleep, worrying throughout most of the night. Shisui had soon gone to sleep as well, after working on his own 'project...'

Yasuo groggily blinked his eyes as he tiredly awoke. 'It would seem that the process of absorbing a [Sovernign Tier] bloodline is more exhausting than a [Legend Tier] bloodline,' Yasuo thought with a frown.

'No...why did I even use the [Bloodline Vial] in the first place? It still had three days until its expiration...'

Yasuo sighed and shook his head to flush his thoughts clean. It was tiresome to think about, and his body was already practically dead.

He didn't need or want his head to be so as well. Sighing yet again, he began to observe his surroundings.

He quickly found that he was back home. The familiarity of his and Vyra's shared room helped with that rather obvious judgment.

Yasuo looked toward Vyra's bed, finding her sluggishly in a doze. She had eyebags, and Yasuo wasn't dense enough to not know the reason for it.

Yasuo sighed the third time since his wake, and mentally asked AM, 'What happened?' He already had a good guess of what had passed during the time he was unconscious, but asking AM, who had precise information, didn't hurt.

[Soon after Host had used the [Phenex Bloodline Vial], Host's [Summoned], Shisui Uchiha, had rescued you.] The system's mechanical voice responded accordingly.

Yasuo's eyes slightly brightened at AM's reply, but he couldn't help but still berate himself.

(Ding! [Monthly Rotation] has been updated!) Ancient Manipulator's cold voice rang again. Yasuo snapped out of his thoughts. It was almost too timely.

Nevertheless, he set his now-cleared mind now to the newly refreshed [Store].

___

[Random Item] (Item) (Treasure—Sovereign) - 50,000 Points

___

Yasuo lips turned into a slight frown. The prices for the items were outrageous! Compared to other times he had visited the [Monthly Rotation], this time, the costs were almost tenfold! Even the [Zanpakutō], which price was at a low [3,500 Points] went up to [35,000 Points]!

Seemingly as if reading Yasuo's mind (which it did and can), the system responded in tow: [As Host's strength post-reincarnation was considerably weak, the system had temporarily adjusted the [Store]'s prices to assist the Host to become stronger.]

Yasuo lightly nodded in understanding, though a frown still marred his face. His eyes became slightly cloudy as the regular, evanescent chill traveled down his spine.

"Then...buy [Random Ability] and [Random Item]. Hmm...buy [Will of Death] as well," Yasuo told AM. As the chill began dimming and his eyes regained back some light, he quickly added, "AM, buy [No Longer Human], too."

(Ding! The Host has obtained the items, [Random Ability] and [Random Item]!)

(Ding! The Host has obtained the abilities, [Will of Death] and [No Longer Human]!)

(A.M. Points Left: 85,000)

(Proceed to use [Random Ability] and [Random Item]? Y/N)

Yasuo mentally nodded.

Interpreting its Host's nod as a 'Yes,' the system carried out the command:

(Using [Random Ability]...) (Using [Random Item...)

(Ding! The Host has obtained [Emperor Tier], [Imagine Breaker]!)

(Ding! The Host has obtained [Sovernign Tier], [True Soul Zanpakutō]!)

(Ding! [No Longer Human] and [Imagine Breaker] have combined into one! The Host has obtained [Universe Tier], [Absence of Fantasy]!)

___

[Absence of Fantasy]: Active - Lvl. 1 -

[Description]: [With the combination of the abilities, Imagine Breaker and No Longer Human, came the ability, Absence of Fantasy. The skill allows the user to erase everything supernatural, ranging from magical powers to Divine Blessings as long as it is in touch with the user's body.]

[Effects]:

[Absence] - [Erase anything supernatural within the User's contact.]

___

Yasuo's unconsciously mouth gaped in utter shock. After processing through the excess amount of notifications, he couldn't help but be astounded. The ability was frankly overpowered, especially in a world like Naruto, where practically everything was of chakra.

He had then originally wanted to take out the [True Soul Zanpakutō], but with the worry of waking up Vyra, he went outside instead. He had gone up to the attic, the unused section of the house.

The real only purpose of it was perhaps storage. But, that too was unneeded for there was the convenient existence of [Seals].

'AM, equip the [True Soul Zanpakutō]!' Yasuo excited ordered the system. And, complying with the command, AM reported: (Ding! [True Soul Zanpakutō] has been equipped!]

Almost abruptly, a sword had appeared upon Yasuo's open hands. It was a dangerously sharp, pitch-black katana with a similarly colored hilt patterned with small, star-like designs.

The white-colored sheath had appeared beside the sword, decorated beautifully with gold flowers.

The aura of the sword was inexplicably both divinely pure, yet dreadfully malicious. But, Yasuo couldn't help but feel something familiar—something very familiar with the two. He felt a connection.

And with such, it struck him. He had realized it. The sword was him—his most genuine self in the form of a peerless katana. He felt as if the sword was calling to him; to oneself to find oneself. Yasuo closed his eyes, going into a deep meditative-like state.

It was almost as if he was looking through his soul, navigating through different memories as he tried to find 'the one.'

He looked deeper, farther...until he had explored everything there was to be. He was conflicted. What was that sword; what was he?

He rummaged through his past, judging himself with an outsider's view. Life seemed like a slow-flowing stream if water, and thus, after minutes of mulling, he had found a glimpse of his own 'Truth.'

"[Seishi]!" he quietly exclaimed the sword's name with a profound grin.

It translated into 'Stillness,' something he truly hoped to find and obtain for himself—to share with a certain someone for an eternity.

With the boy's call, the katana began glowing a blinding white hue. And, as the light slowly dimmed, the sword began growing in length, sharpness, and aura.

The sheath transformed as well in span and power, additionally becoming even more magnificently beautiful with it.

(Ding! [True Soul Zanpakutō] has been named: [Seishi]!) AM's cold and lifeless voice sounded once more as it displayed the newly titled [Seishi]'s information:

[Seishi]

[Description]: [An infinitely sharp sword, capable of harming and killing even immortals with its once unsealed might]

[Sealed Form]:

[A blade of 26 inches, it can cut through most objects like butter. The sheath is nigh-unbreakable and can take to the air on command, either mentally or with spoken words.]

[Shikai Form]:

[Katana]: [With the release command, the katana's length increases to 35 inches. The weight on the hilt and guard rises for balance. The sharpness of the blade becomes finer, now designedly able cut through utterly everything. If not destroyed or killed by then, whatever cut will fragment into atoms within ten seconds.]

[Sheath]: [The sheath increases in length, able to restore something or someone's physical condition in slight amounts. It also has the ability of revival—as long as the person has not died for more than five minutes, and the sheath is in physical contact with the body.]

[Release Command]: [Reap and Sow! Seishi!]

[Release Condition]: [The User must have explicit intent on killing a target.]

(Ding! [Death Wish] has reached a Synchronization of 100% due to [Seishi]!)

Yasuo mentally swiped away the annoying and wordy notices, and carefully read them one by one. And, he was briskly shocked. [Seishi] was disgustingly overpowered, and the [Release Condition] frankly didn't help 'nerfing' the stupid thing.

"AM, what in the hell is Death Wish?!" Yasuo unconsciously shouted out, forgetting to suppress his voice.

Thankfully though, sounds muffled in the attic—and now that he knew, he stopped restraining his voice. "When did I get that scary-sounding skill?"

[When you had acquired [Will of Death], Host.]

Yasuo blinked before a slight frown came across his face.

"When did I get-oh right...the one that was for free..." he muttered to himself. "AM, show me the skill's information, please." The system figuratively nodded as it obeyed the instruction.

[Will of Death]: Passive - Lvl. Max -

[Description]: [!?ERROR?!—Grants User the title and power of a Death God—!?ERROR?!]

[Effects]:

[Death Wish]: [100% Synchronization] -

[Usage Condition]: [Any form of 'death' must be nearby 500 meters of the User.]

[10% Synchronization] - [The User is granted 'partial' control over the concepts of 'death.']

[50% Synchronization] - [The User is granted 'greater' control over the concepts of 'death.'

[100% Synchronization] - [The User is granted 'absolute' control over the concepts of 'death.']

"AM, why does the description say err-"

"Onii-chan, come downstairs!" Vyra abruptly came into the room, nearly smashing the door open. She quickly rushed next to Yasuo and took control of his arm, pulling him toward the staircase before he had any time to protest.

Heading down, Yasuo could practically feel 'something' that was leaking with pure venomousness.

"So I asked Shisui if he could teach me cooking," Vyra began explaining, "and I wanted you to be the first person to taste it!" Her expression was dazzlingly bright, but Yasuo right then, couldn't help but think it was the face of a devil.

Once reaching the living room, Yasuo had seen Shisui, composed even with the abominable smell permeating throughout the house. Vyra continued to drag Yasuo into the kitchen, letting him see her absolute masterpiece of a food.

But, on the contrary, all that Yasuo could see was an abomination. The 'thing,' if it even could be called as such, looked burnt, and most likely was. There were also a variety of different disgustingly bright colors present on the abominable thing.

"V, Vyra-chan are you sure this...material is editable?" Yasuo managed to croak out, already feeling an intense urge to barf right then and there.

There was also some slight nausea coming and going, but that was nothing of importance.

"Of course, Onii-chan!" Came Vyra's cheerful response as she spooned up a big serving of the thing. "Here, have a bite!" She said as she forcefully stuffed the food into Yasuo's mouth with an increasingly radiant smile.

He had regretted it—very much so.
