2 An Army?!!

The odd skeleton king started at me with a tilted head.

"Have you ever heard of a high ranking skeleton under the rule of necromancers?"

As he stopped looking at me I started pondering. I don't think that any high rank skeletons have been under the rule of necromancers.

"King Welston was it? I have enjoyed my first interaction with sapient beings in a million years with you. Thank you for doing me this favor, you shall be rewarded soon."

He knew my name? It seems like this psychopath has been stalking me. Oh wait! The world ending disaster hasn't happened yet! I should stop this freaky skeleton before he goes out.

"Kind sir, I know what you're thinking. The Overseers will explain everything to you soon."

....Was that skeleton reading my mind?

"No I wasn't"

....never have I been left so speechless by anyone before.

I watched his departing figure go past my gates. What an odd skeleton. Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by a flying figure. It landed in front of me. The person in front of me looked ancient. They had an odd green gem on their forehead. It was an Overseer. I quickly bowed down to the Overseer and payed my respects.

"Great Overseer, what do you need of this loyal servant?"

"Did you encounter a skeleton?"

"Yes sir I did"

"Well, don't speak of that encounter to anyone, ok?"

"Yes sir"

The Overseer quickly flew away. This encounter really left me in a daze. Who was that skeleton? Why were the Overseers worried about me leaking his existence? The next day the world emergency that left all nations gathering together was declared a false alarm. It confused many people as to why the Overseers would call out a false alarm that put the world on edge and only correct it months later? Many guessed that it was to make the nations gather up and create better defenses for any future threats. And well, if they did do that, then it worked. The new Union was formed with all four major races working closely together.

New roads were built, new fortresses, and even two cities! Roads connected the major races. Even goblins helped out by providing their steam-powered motorcycles. But of course, this costs lots of financing and issues within the nations. It would seem that nobody would take back their funds though. The reason being is that nobody would want to get on the bad sides of all the Overseers. After all, this was their doing. The Ghastly Kingdom located near the Ghastly Forest brought lots of visitors to the site. They wanted to see what was so special about this place that made the Overseers use this place as a scapegoat.

The Ghastly Kingdom really had nothing special about it though. The Ghastly Forest did have another surge in visitors though! A week after the initial announcement, another announcement sounded out. Goblin riders zoomed down the roads carrying various people from different races. The Overseers sounded the alarm and told all towns near the roads evacuate. The major dirt roads were closed. Other than the goblin troop carriers, no one else was allowed to walk on the dirt roads. Rumors of skeletons marching down the road with weapons.

The large cities that the roads connect too were in chaos. Three countries had cities directly connected to the roads and five countries had their cities near the road. The Union's capitol was located directly in the middle of these roads. The Union's location helped them get to all the allied races in short periods of time by using goblin inventions and magical beasts. The four major races are the dwarves, elves, humans, and beast people. Sub-races include goblins, gnomes, giants, and trolls. Each race had at least one city containing a minimum of sixteen thousand people in each city.

It was important that these large roads and the people near it don't get hurt by these skeletons.

Even if it isn't an army of skeletons, it is something that concerns the Overseers. Armies were transported towards the area under siege. Giants walked, humans rode on unicorns, elves flew, orcs rode with goblins, and beastmen ran.

The thuds of the untied army shook the ground. Suddenly, a general leading the army was shot. An arrow right between his ribs. A booming voice rang out, "lay down your weapons and kneel before the great undead legion!"

The untied army was thrown into chaos. Generals tried ordering their men to cease what their doing and get into formation. Another voice rang out, louder than the rest. "All troops into formation! Don't let the enemy scare you!"

This voice snapped everyone back to reality. Shields were lifted up. Metal vehicles lined up in the front, they were ready for any attack. Then, all hell broke loose. Ten meter tall skeletons that resembled elephants charged towards the United army. They came straight from the front. These skeletons were thrice the size of an elephant. Their tough tusks rammed through the metal vehicles and slammed into troops. The elephant skeletons proceeded to swing their head side to side, flinging the unlucky troops near it.

The battle had begun
