Mr. Ming

"Are you alright?" says the voice from somewhere.

Startled by the voice i heard, i search,, look into my right and my left and front but i was still unable to find where the voice was from.

While thinking if the voice that i heard was just my hallucination, i got so scared that my mouth wasn't able to move and make any sound, when someone from behind, lightly tap my shoulder.

Before i was able to shout for help, the unknown who was behind me talked. - "I see that you are looking for someone, little one?"

Afraid of what i might see i slowly turn around to see the owner of the voice that made me curious earlier.

What appears was a totally different perspective from what i anticipated. He might have a scary voice because it was little bit lower than my grandpa and father, but his face and build was totally different.

In front of me was the perfect prince, pictured in every story books I've read. A man with a stunning face and a perfect lean body, and his silky black hair, that was lightly blown by the wind made his image look more like an otherworldly being.

Bewildered at his beauty, i stared at him for awhile with a dumbfounded look.

Minutes passes by and the man couldn't stop himself from laughing. Which made him more so gorgeous. - "Little one, you look so adorable." - he said after he stop laughing. - "but what is a human like you doing in our Weizhi de Shijie?"

"Wei..zhi..de..shij..ie?" - i asked.

"Hmm, a kid like you shouldn't worry about that." - He smiled for a bit then get serious again. - "but Little one how did you get here? Human like you is not supposed to be here."

"A..ah, I don't know, i just notice i was already here when i saw a light earlier, it looks like it was moving so i followed it and when it stops moving i ran towards it, then i just notice that the place looks unfamiliar and got so scared, then i heard your voice." - I said truthfully, my tears began to fall when I realize that i am now in this unfamiliar place.

"Hmm I understand, seems to be that you saw me earlier and was able to follow me when I open the portal back here. Hnn, it's ok little one I will help you go back home." - The man comforted me.

Once i was able to stop myself from crying, the man bend his knees and pick me up and carry me with only one hand. Before he started to walk with me on his left arm, he said -

"It is almost night time here, lets go to my place first before the hunters woke up and found out that a human was able to enter our world. It will be bad for you, so we need to seal first your human scent and I'll bring you back to the portal tomorrow morning so that you can go back home."

"Hunters?" I asked curiously.

The man patted my head and say, - "Little one, you are not in your world, when you were following me earlier... you've also entered a portal of another world, this world has every different kind of creatures but no living humans are welcome...

because they usually arrived in this world dead, this place is known to be the welcoming place of the dead or more commonly known as the ghost town. Is the bridge from your world to our world...

and the hunters that i mentioned were the like the criminals in your world, they terrorize not only the ghost or creatures in our world, but there were times that they will open the portal to kill human as they hate them the most."

"I don't want to die... will i be alright?" I looked at him and was about to cry again.

He comforted me again with his smile and assurance... "don't worry little one, I the ghost king would not let anyone hurt you, I will protect and save you until i return you back to your world."

"Thank you Mr. Ghost King." I smiled as i thank him.

"Hmm, you are a good kid." He patted my head as he started walking.

"Hana is not a kid." I complained to him while pouting my mouth...and then "Hana is already 6 years old, Hana is big now." - I proudly added with my checks puffing, even referring myself in my given name.

"Alright, Hana is not a kid anymore, Hana is already big." - The ghost king said, as he was stopping himself from laughing at her changing facial expression.

As the ghost king continued walking, going straight to the west side of the town. I looked around and enjoy the scenery with setting sun that brightly colored the surroundings with its orange hue.

Looking behind him, I saw my shadow floating mid-air, It feels surreal that he doesn't have a shadow. But i can still feel his body holding me on his arms, securing that i won't lost balance and fall off. I looked his face again, too make sure that he was really here with me.

I stretch my little arm and wrap it around his neck, my head also followed as it lean and take cover on the corner of his neck, to feel more assurance that he was not just an hallucination that i created.

I don't know how many minutes have passed that i was in that position. I just notice that the orange hue on the surroundings was almost change into its night time shade.

"Little Hana? Are you sleepy now? You don't have to worry we are almost there, you can just sleep I'll wake you up once we arrived." He said.

"No, i am not sleepy at all, i wanted to look at the scenery." I said struggling with my drowsy eyes that couldn't keep staying open.

"Alright, I can already see the house from here." He said as he looked at her sleepy face.

I release one hand that was wrapping his neck, so that i can look in front. And saw a roof, of a house sticking out in the branches of trees and leaves.
