37 Muspelheim[24]

The brilliant rays of the sun descended, showering Khan with its warmth. His eyes slowly opened, revealed within was a light that contained, deep and profound knowledge.

However, under his eyes, a swollen bag that indicated his lack of sleep could be seen. He glanced at the beauty beside him and found that her complexion became even rosier than before.

Khan stood up, he moved sneakily, not wanting to wake the beauty from her slumber.

He moved towards the living room and sat on the couch. He took a glance on his right arm and found the Rune Decipherer that the Sect Master gave, he tapped on it but found an error prompt saying that he didn't input a Rune to be used.

[No Rune placed on hotkey]

Khan sighed, although he now has a Rune Decipherer, he was unable to utilize its might. He just sat there and thought about the advantages of using the device.

As what he noticed from the fight that happened with the Dragonslayer yesterday, he found that using the Decipherer will decrease the time it takes to materialize the Rune.

As for talismans, even Khan at his peak would need a second to cast a talisman, for a person to be able to utilize a Rune in a blink of an eye, it would be a huge advantage that could spell life and death in a battle.

Khan heard the complaint that roared from his stomach, he sighed, stood up then walked towards the refrigerator, the cooling wind that brushed through his body, slowly woke up his groggy mind.

He took a glance at the ingredients and after pondering for a moment. He took several vegetables and some chicken meat. He placed it in the kitchen and started working.

After about thirty minutes, an alluring fragrance could be smelled in the air, as several colorful dishes spread on the table, their glistening bodies, extremely inviting to the spectators.

Khan took a fork and tasted before nodding in approval towards its taste. He sat down, but he didn't eat, he just closed his eyes and inspected the current condition of his body.

Khan gave a small relieved smile, at the time where Khan sucked all the Yang energy from Lily's body, his meridians thoroughly became damaged, it looked like a burnt charcoal. But now, thanks to the Yin-yang Assimilation Method, Khan could feel the faint but throbbing lifeforce.

With enough training and nutrients, Khan could once again assail the road towards the peak. But for now, Khan looked forward to unraveling the secrets of Modern Magic.

The door on Lily's room opened, as an aquamarine haired beauty dragged her body towards the living room, with a single thought in her mind, and that is, 'To cook!'

But her eyes widened in shock. Her nose trembled as she smelled the enticing aroma that lingered in the air, her eyes directed at the dining table and found that Khan stared at him with a smug smile on his face.

Lily walked towards him, took a seat and said, "How much did it cost you to order this good food? This looks like it came from a five-star hotel."

She stabbed a piece from a meat dish and ate.

"Mhmm! This is sooo delicious! Where did you order this? I gotta bookmark that restaurant!" Lily exclaimed, her hand flashed in succession as she placed more meat in her mouth.

Khan didn't reply, he just stared at him while wearing an enigmatic smile. Lily locked her eyebrows in confusion, she stared blankly for a moment before a thought rose in her mind. 'Could it be that Khan made this?'

She stood up, amidst Khan's amused gaze, she walked towards the kitchen and found the unwashed kitchen utensils.

Khan stared at the Lily who wore an unconvinced, and indignant look, 'How could this guy cook better than me?'

Khan only smiled towards this, 'Back then, when I would hunt in the mountains, I would bring some seasonings with me and cook my own meal, how could I be unable to cook such simple dishes?'

The two finished their breakfast and Khan indignantly washed the dishes for Lily complained her body felt too sore from last night's activity, Khan secretly rolled his eyes, 'Who was it that kept asking for more?!' He wanted to exclaim but upon seeing the pleading eyes of the girl, he became unable to refuse.

Finishing his work, Khan found that Lily tapped on a thin black device while humming a tune. Khan took a glance and saw that there were several messages, he became curious and asked Lily about what she was doing, of which, the latter replied, "Oh? I'm just chatting with some friends back at the Sect."

Khan frowned but didn't inquire any further, instead. He asked about where could he obtain a Rune Scanner. Lily retorted with a, "Do you think that Rune Scanners are like cabbages that could be found in the streetside?"

Khan could only avoid this topic and instead asked about how he could contact the Sect Master.

"I could contact him for you, right now."

"Really?"

"Mhmmm!"

Lily nodded before tapping on the slim device in her hand, Khan stared at the device in confusion for he didn't found any relevant information about it in his memory banks.

"He said that he will meet you here in an hour."

"Okay, then, say thanks to him for me..."

The conversation of the two ended, feeling the awkward atmosphere, Khan found a topic as he said, "Do you know where I could buy that device?"

Lily startled, she looked at Khan before her eyes became filled with a dazzling light.

"You finally want to have one?"

"Mhmmm... Is it that weird to have one?"

"No! It's weird to not have one... Hold on, I'll order one for you in a bit." Lily opened a shopping app and ordered the same device that she had.

Several minutes later, a delivery drone descended before their drone. Khan looked at the floating device and had an urge to touch it before being stopped by Lily who said, "If you do anything towards that drone, I'll get a penalty, so hands off!"

"Even touching is bad?"

"Yeah, companies these days sure are strict towards their equipment that a mere touch is prohibited."

Lily took the box and placed it on the dining table before unwrapping it. Khan read the instruction manual and after about fifteen minutes turned on the so-called smartphone.

After some personalizing, Khan was now ready to enter the world of social media.

Lily cheerfully had Khan register for an account at a famous social media website called Weaboo. She even took a picture of him and uploaded it as a display picture, as for the cover picture, she took one with them embracing each other.

She added Khan in her friend list and established her relationship with him, shocking all of her stalkers and admirers.

[What the hell? She has a boyfriend?!]

[Man, that guy looks like he just came out of a grave or something, look at his face, is he on drugs or some sort?]

Lily held her stomach as she uncontrollably laughed, Khan's face reddened in anger that he even replied in the comments section.

[Fuck off! I'm telling you that she's mine so get the fuck out of here.]

[U wot m8?]

[Bro, she's not yours, she's everyone's goddess!]

[How the hell did you mesmerize the goddess that she even dated such a drug addict looking bastard like you? You better stop that spell or else I will find you and beat you up!]

[+1 above]

[RIP Boyfriend]

[Press F to pay respects.]

[Wkwkwkwk]

[Gago ka ba?! +1]

[Ina mo, pangit mo dre...]

Khan almost slammed the smartphone towards the ground in anger, he glanced at the laughing Lily and leaped towards her.

"You dare to laugh at your boyfriend being bullied? See how I will direct you to the right way!" He pinched on Lily's sensitive spots which made the latter's laugh even more boisterous.

Khan enjoyed teasing her to the point that he didn't notice that a person had entered the mansion.

The Sect Master walked towards the living room with a slight smile on his face, he carried a small box in his hand, his gleeful countenance froze upon witnessing the sight in the living room.

Khan laid on top of Lily, his head on her neck as he tenderly bit. Lily embraced his head with a flushed complexion.

"Ah..." The Sect Master involuntarily exclaimed, prompting Khan to a startle, Lily noticed this and turned towards the source and there, they found the awkwardly smiling Sect Master.

"It looks like I came at a bad time... I'll be back in an hour so enjoy yourselves until then!" His figure flickered like a ghost as he disappeared from their sight.

The two didn't even have time to explain as they stared at the Entrance. Lily's complexion turned even redder after the Sect Master saw what happened, her look became even more filled with a desire.

Khan sighed at this sight and thought, 'How could I refuse such a plump and inviting lamb?' He transformed into a big bad wolf and devoured the lamb that dared to question his sovereignty.

The storm lasted for thirty minutes before it settled down, with the big bad wolf reduced to an even more miserable state, however, seeing the satisfied look of the lamb, The wolf didn't know whether to laugh or to cry.

They rested for five minutes before working together in dispelling the alluring after-effects of the storm that lingered in the air.

"Damn, this insatiable little lamb..." Khan murmured in the air, however, because he was in close proximity with Lily, she heard this and sent a glare towards him.

Khan gulped a mouthful of saliva and continued working without uttering a word, before long, the couches on the living room returned to its previous glory and the tempting stench that floated in the air disappeared.

The two decided to watch some televisions together as they waited for the Sect Master to arrive.

The newscaster on the television told that the Steam Festival was currently ongoing and displayed the number of pious followers that paraded on the streets, apparently, everyone on this continent worshipped the God of Greed, Lord Gaben.

People could be seen prancing about on the streets while chanting.

"Lord Gaben! take my money and bless us!"

"Lord Gaben, the festival of Steam is upon us! Bless our soiled souls with the steam that comes from the heavens itself!"

They danced there as they threw money all around the area, prompting Lily and Khan to frown in displeasure.

"Hmmph! What Lord Gaben, the only true God is Lord Escanor! What Lord Gaben? hmmph!" Lily snorted, took the remote control and changed channels.

Not long after, The Sect Master arrived, he even made sure to create noises with his feet as he approached the living room. The two noticed his arrival but rolled their eyes as they saw the Sect Master's ambiguous smile.

"Look, although the two of you are still young, doing it in broad daylight is too much, you should just do those kinds of things at night and, of course, in a private space."

Khan didn't even bother to argue with the old man as he thought, 'Who was it that barged inside?' In contrast, Lily wore an embarrassed look, she didn't even dare to meet the Sect Master's gaze as she stood there, fidgeting and looking on the ground.

"Then, what's your business with me? Direct Disciple?" The Sect Master inquired, prompting Khan to run towards his room and took several pages of papers with drawings on it.

"Hoooh, these herbs, I indeed remember seeing it..."

"Really?!" Khan exclaimed in joy towards this revelation, for he didn't really expect much about the chances of finding one since back at his peak, these herbs were extremely rare that one could only find it by a lucky chance.

Now that an opportunity presented itself, Khan wasn't willing to miss it as he pestered the old man to take him to the shop where he found the herbs.

'With this, I can finally concoct the Second Chance Pill!'

After about an hour, three figures could be seen walking towards a dark alleyway hidden within the city, one was and old man while the other two were youths in the prime of their age.

They didn't even bother to hide their face as they strutted, heading towards the shop that the old man mentioned.

But as they entered the dark corner, they didn't notice that a ghostly figure had tailed them, on the figure's face, a look of excitement could be seen.
