21 True Stalker

"Wondering how I got here " Grant playfully said

Mason looked un-amused "You were following and watching me from the start"

"You got me, do not look so down I couldn't allow you to go off by yourself. Now what would I do if you didn't come back from this dark part of the forest especially that cave of all places, its rumored to be haunted " Grant looking sternly at his son, he noticed he had a bag on and disregarded it, At least he got something from his misadventure and decided not to peruse it

Mason said with understanding "So.."

"No need for apologies, it was a good hunt, I was watching from the start, Also i forgive you. At least your now showing the curiosity of a child your age " Grant laughed internally as it contrasted to his sons already matured mind,no child has the resolve to hunt and kill at 5 and be successful.

Mason chuckled with his fathers light brushing off this incident

"Now do i repeat, do not tell your mother about this or I'm going to get way more into trouble from that women "

Mason knew the wrath of Elizabeth and nodded understandably

Grant reached for the boar and lifted on his back and then dashed off, Mason had no chance of catching up, clearly, his father was holding back previously so he could at least keep up from what he remembered. Seems like he was left to his own devices to get out though to the outside.

Briskly Mason traversed the upper parts of the trees going from branch to branch avoiding the predators which lurked in the undergrowth, lucky due to his weight he enjoyed this luxury, he moved branch to branch growing better and better with each jump,He was reaching the edge of the forest in due time enjoying jumping branch to branch ,He grabbed dagger from his bag and stabbed it into the tree and jumped down dragging the dagger along with him,As if a knife through butter it penetrated the thick bark as if it didn't exist and as he glided it did not snag slowing his descent, it only made a large clean gouge out of the tree. Mason landed face first into the ground.

Superbly annoyed with himself he stood up and whipped himself, clearly this dagger needed to be in safekeeping, it was rather too sharp .thankfully the sheath doesn't seem to care.

As Mason reached the clearing, the sun shone a red with orange hew basking over the fields of green, it was beautiful. Mason wanted to see more days like this.

Mason hit on his back woken from his daydreaming.

Grant looked at him disconcertingly and said jovially "Nice view, I'll forgive you for daydreaming this time, Now let's go going before your mother gets to worried"
