17 Chapter 17: Battle (Part VIII)

The fight between Barry, Daemon and Brittney versus Chris in his monster form begins as Brittney fires her fire and ice bullets towards Chris.

As the fire and ice bullets get closer to Chris, he threw sharp pointy cone-shaped bone bullets towards the incoming bullets.

The cone-shaped bone bullets intercepted the fire and ice bullets and destroys them. After it destroyed the fire and ice bullets, it continued to fly towards Brittney.

As the cone-shaped bone bullets closes in on Brittney, Barry activates his 'Dark Earth Manipulation' to create a solid wall to block the bullets from harming the princess.

The wall could block the incoming bullets, but it crumbled into pieces after it suffered a huge blast.

Brittney has asked Barry to replicate a cannon for her before the wall is destroyed. Then, she channeled her magic powers into the cannon to create magic cannonballs.

As soon as the wall crumbles, she charges the cannon towards Chris, which took him by surprise. This has caused Chris to suffer collateral damage on his body. But this wasn't enough to defeat him.

This is because Chris's monster form allows him to absorb the damages on his body and heal the inflicted wounds effectively. It gives Chris the upper hand in this battle. Barry and the others haven't known about this yet, but they are bound to find out about it later.

As his wounds fully healed, he then uses the absorbed damage which he had been inflicted upon to deal twice as more damage on Barry and the others.

He carried his fist up and smashed it directly onto the ground, which caused a giant shock wave towards where Barry and the others stood.

When the shock wave reached their place, the ground below their feet cracked and the impact of the attack sent them flying backwards.

While they were in mid-air, Barry was the only one who kept his eyes open when they were sent flying by the enemy's attack. Then a thought popped up in his head. "Wait... something feels off about him."

As he got a glimpse of Chris's monster body form through the floating rubbles in the air, an idea popped up in his head. "Wait... don't tell me..."

When they landed back on the ground, Barry shared his idea to Daemon and Brittney about how Chris's monster form's healing regeneration works and how to defeat him.

After that, Barry, Daemon and Brittney prepared themselves to continue the fight against Chris while following Barry's suggested battle strategy.

As Chris dashes towards them, Daemon comes forward to challenge Chris to a duel to see who is stronger. This is to stall time for Barry and Brittney to find the right place to strike him down.

The plan which Barry came up with was to make Daemon the bait for keeping Chris busy fighting with him while they search for a suitable place to shoot him down.

As Daemon dueled with Chris, Barry and Brittney ran into the forest in search of a place where she could get a clear view of the target.

When they found a large space within the forest, Brittney decided it is the perfect spot for her to shoot down the target. Then she asked Barry to bring them up to the sky by creating a tall pole for them to stand on.

He then creates according to what she asked of him. While they were on top of the pole, they could see Daemon fighting with Chris. Then she took off her royal magician's robe in front of him.

Barry was surprised by her sudden action. But when Barry saw what was under her robe, he became speechless.

What she carried on her back was a beautifully designed bow and a bag full of arrows. The bow was crafted with magic and was well-decorated with magical gemstones on it. The gemstones will light up according to what magic the user wants to use. This bow is classified as the most powerful enchanted type. It is said that this enchanted bow is passed down through generations. Now, this bow belongs to her. This is what Brittney said to him as she noticed Barry looking away from her.

Before she gave Daemon the signal, she said to Barry in a teasing way. "What did you think I was going to do? Were you thinking of something dirty? Such a childish person, you are."

Barry's face flushed red and said. "Nothing... nothing... nothing."

After she chuckled at Barry's reaction, she then gave Daemon the signal.

When Daemon saw it, he backed off from the duel, making Chris confused with his actions.

Then he realized he has fallen into their trap.

When he tries to escape from the place, Barry appeared behind him and nullified his movements.

As everything falls into plan, Brittney aims it at Chris and releases the arrows from her bow.

The arrows pierced into his entire body and collapse onto the ground. Before he closes his eyes, he breathes out his last breath and said. "Sorry... Boss, I couldn't carry out your order. But please merge my powers with yours so that you can defeat them."

For sure, this couldn't be heard by Barry nor the others. Only the boss could hear these words because they were unaware of the presence of the floating surveillance camera.

As for the three of them, this only signifies their victory in the battle against Chris. After that, she shared with them about what had happened after the castle was under attack.

"After the incident at the castle, Daemon and I fled from the castle. We thought we could outrun the bandits. But we underestimated their powers. So, we decided we should split up so that they couldn't find us."

She continued, "For the past 3 days, you don't need to worry about me, Daemon. I could take care of myself like how you took care of me when I was still young. So you have nothing to worry about me."

Then Daemon said to her in a caring voice. "I know you can take care of yourself. I always believe that you will be safe from the harms of others. So you too shouldn't be worried about me."

While both of them chatted, Barry just stood there in amazement at their change of tone and the contents of their conversation.

Lots of questions popped up in his head. "What's their relationship? Is it a father-daughter type of relationship? Or is it something else? What's their past? I guess I could ask them about it... maybe."

When he thought he wanted to ask, he sees they were happily chatting together. So he said to himself again. "I guess I shouldn't disturb them."

After their conversation ended, the three of them headed back to the city.
