35 Weak. Trash. Useless.

It was actually already two weeks after that battle. I was also quite bothered by how I only knew the Void Demoness by that weird title so I asked for her name, which she hesitated for a bit before telling us.

"...Yona."

"Yona sis."

"I'm not. Your. Sister."

"You wouldn't like to be called a grandma, right?"

Yona unusually slightly pouted and puffed her cheeks, which made her look cute. Seeing this demon have this side to her, it makes her even seem more human to me.

I also don't know why they became close within those days while I'm out, but as long as we're all good together then that's fine.

Yona's eyes narrowed as she returned to her usual look, before she took a deep breathe and set her eyes on me.

"Your Dad and I... are..."

She avoided my eyes and looked towards Aunt.

"You know that Kaff's actually a genius, right? He probably already knows."

"Did you also love my Dad?"

I could see Yona blushing a bit as she avoided our stares... Like a maiden in love?

"Wow Kaff. Since when did you start to have knowledge in romance? When I was a kid I barely liked any guys..."

"It's because you're a splendid meatbrain. Yes, kid; you're correct. It just so happened that your Mom was the one he chose."

Being sent to this world, it didn't occur in my thoughts...so a harem is apparently a bad thing here? Or it just doesn't exist?

"Does having one more wife a bad thing?" So I asked, with my hand on chin.

Yona's eyes almost bulged as soon as I finished my sentence and Aunt spat towards the side.

"Within Phione and Labbi, I don't think I've seen any people having multiple partners in life, but when you go at the far eastern part of the world, that is quite common." Yona calmly explained as she stroke her hair.

"That isn't impossible, but... think about it! Imagine your Mom and Yona in a single house, wanting sole ownership of your Dad, what do you think would happen?"

I looked towards Yona and I could see her eyes glaring at me.

That's scary. I think I shouldn't have brought up that question.

"Let's just say I've been lenient towards your Mom, and it's because of your Dad that I still haven't killed her up to this day. So what would you do, stop me?"

This is getting dangerous. Moments ago we were friendly and now she looks like she's about to flatten me inside a box into a meat paste. There's no way I could stop someone that already became a god, and I don't think I could do anything either if she would do that.

I was about to say something when she suddenly started to talk again.

"That's it. That look, I've seen it from inside the barrier. Why don't you have pride in yourself?"

She let out a faint sigh before waving her hand in front of her.

"The war between humans and demons was actually because of Hamion. Hamion was once an old alchemist that lived on the southern plains near the desert. He travelled the whole world to seek power and infinite life, doing whatever means necessary.

It was unknown when, but all of a sudden, that infamous man appeared within Labbi, incapacitated ten demons at once, then brought them with him using a golden light with an aura of power similar to ours.

Our scholars tried to pursue him, but they weren't even able to reach the scene and only the bystanders told what had happened.

Later on, one by one, our people started to go missing, and he was the only human they suspected at the time as he was the only one that could bypass the cold and go in and out of Labbi.

Salire, the demon god, sent more guards and tried to find him too, but after those incidents and with protective measures tightening, he somehow disappeared and never returned..."

Yona's expression turned grim after this before she continued.

"I was still around the scholar-level too, at that time, and if my timing and estimations are correct, ten years had passed before suddenly a lot of humans have started to fire familiar spells at our barrier. It wasn't long before mage-levels went outside the barrier, starting an hour of skirmish, before returning with three humans caught within their hands.

I wasn't able to see the whole fight, but there are records that said that the humans suddenly exploded with golden light, as if detonating themselves. The others saw this and tried to run away, before a few of them were killed in combat and caught.

One of them, specifically a person that had his eyes flicker with gold, frantically struggled while he was held captive, flailing his arms and legs before muttering to himself a word we couldn't understand... then a brilliant golden light expanded, followed by the sound of a loud explosion that shook an eight of Labbi.

The disaster it brought was massive, and as you know, we demons have no corpses when we die. Seeing that plain land of desolation made me shiver on my knees as I struggled to run away."

She covered her forehead as if reminiscing the past, then remove it away before continuing.

"Fortunately, the city barrier remained intact. Salire personally came out for pursuit, but he later informed the whole city that all of those that came already died with an unknown reason.

Months pass, with the emergence of an enemy wanting to eliminate us without valid reason, a lot us got tense and there was an increased overall security within the city. More demons were sent to the gates, a few were even sent to patrol outside, and some even started to join Salire's Void Militia to increase their powers...and I was one of those who volunteered too.

At the same time I increased my power to mage-level, the alarm sounded throughout the whole place before I flew, joining with the other mages as we went towards the gates that were being attacked.

What appeared on the horizon was a mass of white with a tinge of gold. It was the first ever beast wave that occurred, and with none of us the wiser, the southern side of Labbi got raided by mindless beasts. There were a lot of us demons that got killed being overwhelmed by their sheer numbers.

I personally worked with another mage to create barrier to funnel them to minimize casualties before killing them within the gaps. Their movements were all uncontrolled, as if they just wanted to kill us demons for no reason. After a while, I noticed their eyes had the same golden sheen as the previous human who went and detonated himself.

Realizing that they were controlled, I looked for that rumored Heart Demon right away and the threat was reduced to almost half. The beasts that snapped back to reality realized something was amiss and retreated right away. The others had little sentience anyway and still continued to attack the residents near the southern gate.

After the matter was dealt with, I was one of the ones who directly reported to Salire that day, along with the Heart Demon.

He only sat on his throne as I explained every detail, before I saw a negligible twitch on his eyes as I mentioned about the beasts have the similar golden light that fluctuated on their eyes. The Heart Demon also attested to this at the time, before Salire finally clicked his tongue, and just disappeared.

That was also the same day I got somehow promoted and got a lot of chances to see their more detailed records, until one day I saw a document regarding the god's mark."

Yona sighed before she drew something in the air by controlling red light, and a circle with a mark of an unknown character floated in front of us for a moment, before it hovered to the side.

"That's the mark of the demon god, Salire."

Once more, but with a golden light, she drew another circle but it had a different yet familiar mark...

"The Vates' mark."

With my words, Yona now willed the two circles side by side and they had no similarities or whatsoever.

"I planned to have you observe these two marks but since you have no source spirit, you won't be able to sense the similarities between these two."

I gritted my teeth and stared at the two circles as if trying to sense the two hovering magic circles yet there's really nothing I can feel. I glanced at Aunt and it looks like the two are really similar from her frown.

But what does this have to do with her story?

"There's also a document where Hamion was able to replicate the demon's magic, in some kind of method."

Gemmatria, huh.

"Then connecting all what happened, you wouldn't need a genius to discover that Hamion was the one all behind those attacks, but the only question now is why.

I can't think of any other reason why he would repeatedly attack our place as if he had some sort of animosity towards all of us demons, but since Labbi was founded we haven't been trying to get out of the barrier because we couldn't even to. I tried to flicker a strand of my hair outside the barrier and it froze in an instant, falling to the ground.

The only way I got out was when I only reached the Master-level of power, which...took me a long time."

Her hand flickered and a circular object with some kind of string appeared out of nowhere within her hand.

"These medallions didn't exist at the time, and it's because of this that we could send a lot of demons outside the barrier."

A few strands of light converged on the medallion before it glowed similar to the barrier Kirllia had during our time at the mountains. So it means she also had one of those too then.

"I don't know how you met that girl and even got to side her with you, but it was a pity she's disappeared. Shouldn't we talk about you instead? I've asked a lot of your questions, after all."

I could only silently curse inside, but seeing that Aunt is also interested, all I could do is sigh before thinking about what I should tell them.

It wasn't too long before Yona started to speak once more.

"Didn't your dad just died? A friend also died, yet you're here calm like nothing happened."

Calm? I'm all but calm.

"I... try not to remind myself from thinking about what happened."

Is my voice shaking?

"Pfft. No kid would say that, seeing you're like only six years old. I've seen a lot of people that look young yet actually older than what they're actual age is. If not for me actually knowing you're El's son, then I've already suspected you as some old mage that possessed an infant's body."

I feel my temples sweat, my back cold, and my knees shake. I don't mind being found out being another person that got reincarnated in this world, but I don't want it to be revealed like this.

"But if not for your true emotions when El died, I can finally relax myself knowing that you're truly his family."

With that, she displayed a faint smile...before a dense red aura started to leak from her whole body.

"Don't you want to kill the ones who killed your father?"

I gulped for a bit before firmly answering, "Of course I do."

"Then why aren't you showing it!?" Her aura flared and I felt like coughing within the pressure. Somehow, only I was affected and not Aunt, which was only glancing off towards the side as if she's not related.

Does Yona want to see how upset am I?

"Weak."

Does she wants to see if I'm willing to go for revenge?

"Trash. You can't even defeat a simple knight."

Is she just trying to anger me this way?

"Useless."

I somewhat remembered that moment from when I was still an employee, where I could see everyone staring at me with smiles that don't really mean anything. That moment my shoulders only ached in pain as I continued to work. Where I did my best yet get blamed wrong for something I put effort on.

I feel lesser and downed instead of being mad.

For what reason have I been wronged like that?

A few seconds later, Kaff's tears started to flow down as he looked down. The two women saw this, and Arc looked in front of his eyes that were had no light.

"What happened? I thought you were supposed to make him burn with revenge?"

"I don't know. Maybe this kid is weak-willed, after all. Only a few words and he's already like this? Makes sense if he's really just a kid but..."

Yona pondered to herself for a while, and Arc noticed something within Kaff's eyes, as if there was a spinning light within.

"Sis, look at his eyes!"

Yona leaned and crouched closer to the kid as she stared at his teary eyes.
