44 Exiting with Brute Force

Each of Arc's swings generated a shockwave that cut through the wind and sliced everything in its path, yet William was able to casually block every wave with his bare hands.

Her large sword light attacked in a different fashion compared to the sword that she personally held, and it was as if a large beast was controlling it from the large swings and force that it generated. Her attacks seemed like it was performed by a four-handed person holding two-handed blades.

A few times she would form a series of sword lights that would attack from different positions, and some times she seemed to become two persons. From the relentless attacks that she did, it wasn't incorrect to say that she was going all out.

William however, didn't even move one inch from his place and only kept blocking the important parts of his body.

"Puzzled why his body is that durable?" Savar asked Dorother as they squinted their eyes as they watched the high speed battle above the air.

"With your Dad eating Origin Fruit every month, along with a Coiling Root, his body slowly became more sturdier than most steels, and his internal Vates source power is now generated outside his body which makes him resistant to most magical attacks." Savar sighed before he continued.

"The lady is fast and she even got a lot of hits in, but only speed can't determine battle. Without enough force, she won't be able to break through brother's defenses."

For every second, Arc was able to make four slashes with two getting blocked, sometimes she changed her tempo so that more hits could hit William, yet with her high output of power and speed she still wasn't able to make any sort of damage against William.

There were times that Sorn would also appear here and there as if distracting her, only for him to be slapped by the blade and flew everywhere.

It took them already a minute before she noticed a crack in the flaring aura and stabbed towards it, only for the blade to momentarily stop as it hit his body and Arc retreating.

"You actually landed an attack? I should congratulate you."

It wasn't long before all of the Vates within the vicinity already retreated, and they were the only ones left. Above the skies near the clouds though, Herov was still there continuing to watch everything.

He was holding a small and square lens within his large fingers, and its view contained Kaff.

The orb of light finally became purple, yet Kaff still didn't stop at it, and only continued to gather more Origin towards the orb in front of him.

...

Three minutes later, Arc's aura finally receded and slowly disappeared, before her hair started to drop down and with her sword transforming into an ordinary one once more.

Her whole body was filled with sweat that dripped. She slowly floated towards Kaff's side while holding her sword with both hands upwards.

Sorn however was already knocked out below, unmoving from the repeated thrashing and receiving countless sending off by a large sword light.

"I hope this doesn't kill you." Kaff finally spoke after a long time, and those were the words that he said before the purple orb of light condensed like a small marble as small as a finger nail, transformed into a black chick, and went in Kaff's palm.

With a short blow of air on the black chick, it slowly flew towards William that didn't put up any resistance or whatsoever.

"What is that?"

The chick tried hard flying and went in random jitters, but it went for William as it flapped its wings.

"Pfft....!"

From the sight of the cute little chick that took so long to form, William couldn't resist the urge to laugh at the incoming 'attack' that could possibly harm him.

No one could feel any threat from its aura or appearance so even the other Master-level Vates that remained on the site to watch the battle became curious, and the others also reflexively laughed from the clumsy little thing.

It took a full ten seconds before the chick finally came near William, only to be caught in between his arms.

"Hm?" Confused, he opened his hand only to find out that the chick was gone.

He was supposed to say something again but his elevation started to drop...until he realized that he was falling towards the ground.

All of the people watching became confused except for the two that floated towards the ground.

"Brother...!"

Savar quickly flew towards William, and caught him within his arms. He then lended his shoulder towards William, making him float in the air.

"What did you do to me!?"

Kaff blew air to the side as he floated down from the skies.

"Pweh. I hope you like my gift!"

Arc's eyes became indifferent yet her hands were shaking as she continued to stare at the two men in front of them.

"Father! Uncle!" Dorother now came to their side, and a slight look of worry appeared on her face.

"It's really you."

From Kaff's words, Dorother stopped before she got near the two men.

"Kaff?"

"You've grown well, Three."

His eyes changed from a sharp demeanor into a warm and longing gaze.

Her eyes shifted from between Kaff and her two relatives for a few times before she locked her gaze onto her uncle's eyes.

"No, don't!"

Dorother quickly flew over Kaff's side, and took out a small black box from somewhere within her gown.

"Stop her!!" William yelled yet he wasn't able to do anything, and the surrounding Vates that remained on the scene acted instead.

Golden light gathered on Dorother's hands in a second before it expanded into a large golden cube with a lot of engravings that enveloped Kaff, Arc, and herself.

"She's reached Master-level already?"

"What do you think? Of course she did!"

"What do we do, Grandmaster?"

"They're trying to escape!"

"FORM A PERIMETER!"

William shouted once more, dispelling the panic within the group of different levels of Vates. Once they got to their senses, they all surrounded the large golden black box that Dorother made and started to gather golden light on their arms.

"Deploy the Five-Point Star Zone!"

With Savar's order, the various Mages and other guest Masters gathered to form ten points and surrounded them. Light channelled between every Vates and their lines made a star-shaped boundary when viewed from above.

"This is bad." Dorother softly spoke to herself, and Kaff and Arc roused to her words.

"What's going on?"

"Pffttt..." Dorother lightly chuckled from seeing Kaff's reaction.

"Oh..." Kaff faintly smiled in return.

"What? What's funny?" Arc asked them both.

"It's... a deja vu."

"What's that?" The two girls asked in unison.

"Umm... Should we focus on what's happening instead?"

After Kaff said that, a dense beam of light slowly wafted towards the tree from above that looked like a star.

"Wow, that's an awesome skill."

"It's no time to be amazed! I don't know what your powers are yet, but can you still do math?" Dorother asked Kaff as she brought up her pointer finger that glowed in golden light, ready to write in the air.

"Actually I kinda still know a bit but... Forget asking anything complex?" Kaff bitterly smiled as he scratched the back of his head.

"Just look at this." Dorother started to write in the air using her finger, and golden light remained on the air as she did so. Some time later, a full diagram with five layers appeared, and Arc's eyes widened as she also scratched the back of her head.

"The Vates sure are... hardcore."

Kaff looked at the five circles of light that seemed to be connected to each other, and moved his eyes on one circle, one by one.

By the time he made it to the third circle, he skipped it immediately and did the same with the two more left.

"What's this spell for? What does it do?"

Dorother beckoned towards Kaff, and slightly lowered her head before whispering something to him.

"Oh. I have a better idea. Can you use Soul Control?"

"Of course I can! Isn't writing on the air Soul Control?"

"What is it? What did she tell you?" Arc looked at the two youths before her with a puzzled look.

The two youths started to gather magical lights within their hands and formed a semi-transparent circular platform. Once it was as big as the barrier, they stopped and formed another set of construct under the platform. It only looked like a circle from above, and the two girls saw Kaff smile.

"It looks so similar to that demonic skill I've only seen once from before. Then? What's next?"

"Copy me."

Kaff willed Soul Control, and the Origin contruct they made started to spin, and the circular platform started to dig towards the ground.

"Oh, I see."

Dorother also added her own Soul Control to the already spinning platform and the speed of the platform increased threefold.

"Don't tell me... There's a large Arrow Drill below us?"

"What Arrow Drill? It's my Origin Screw! Hah...Hahahahahhahah!" Kaff crossed his arms while laughing as he continued to add more spin to the large Origin Screw and their descent became more faster.

The Vates outside who only just started to painstakingly prepare for their attacks started to panic as they saw the trio going underground within seconds.

"Don't worry. Keep pouring source power into the formation!" William ordered as Savar let go of him on the ground.

"Brother, what are you thinking? You might even kill your own daughter!"

"If that demon child is as strong as we've suspected then they'll be able to escape from this place..."

"But still...!"

Savar was about to step forward but William held his shoulder and tightened his grip. His eyes remained firm as he stared at his brother. Even without using source energy, he was still able to momentarily stop him and buy time.

*Vvvvvvvvvvv*

The sound of the air and ground vibrating suddenly erupted, and golden light appeared from the heavens, parting the night sky above. The clouds made way as if welcoming a deity that descended to the earth as a massive golden light the shape of a star came crashing down towards the barrier that Dorother made.

It took only a few breaths of time before the barrier collapsed and broke, and continued to envelop the whole area within the star-shaped barrier.

Below the ground, the three felt a large shockwave, but instead of being hit by the golden light, the ground only served to reduce the impact that they should've received.

"My Soul Control is about to get exhausted, at this point we'll get buried!"

"I'm also about to get exhausted, but as long as we keep going down we won't die!"

"Sure we won't die, but how do we breathe after all this earth below!?"

The trio screamed at each other as the sound of the earth being ground and drilled along with the massive light above that tried to reach them made loud sounds.

"No worries about that Aunt, for now continue to help with the digging!"

It was unknown how deep they were below ground, but the color of the earth started to change from brown into slightly red.

"STOP STOP!!"

Kaff released control of the large Origin Screw and their descent slowed down, before Dorother got alerted from his voice and followed suit.

The three of them looked above and saw the golden light rush through the earth as if chasing them, only for it to stop just a bit above their heads.

As soon as the light vanished, they saw what became of the earth that shielded them from the light beam---a star-shaped cut that slightly burned on the edges. On the center of the star-shaped hole, the moon can be viewed from below.

From all of the loud sounds that occurred on the surface, Sorn was already up from earlier and only saw the beam of light vanish, before he located William and Savar together.

"Check them below!" William ordered and a few of the mages went down below. It didn't take long enough for them to come back to the surface before telling them the news.

"We've checked even the small hole that they dug through, but we didn't find any bodies."

Savar's eyes widened as his eyes turned bloodshot as he stared at his brother.

"If we can't have her, then might as well let her go."

"You call that letting go? You killed your own daughter!"

"Relax. I can still feel Dorother's Vates mark. They're slowly moving towards the south. I don't know how they're doing it, but they're moving slowly."

"Is it possibly an earth movement technique?" The butler expressed his opinion as he moved his hand on his chin.

"Most likely. I can't just pulverize the whole land just to take her back, right?"

Far away from the destroyed platform, a few pieces rubble moved and parted to make way for a red-haired young man.

"...What happened?"

By breaking the silence, all of the people in the area glanced at the said person.
