14 Chapter 13

Just as Zhao Xui Shen had claimed, exactly four days later, the sky realm had opened up and Lui Yang along with the other disciples had traveled toward Boa Bing Sect in the south. The journey only a two day trip on their swords. And because Zhang Tian was leading the group as the head disciple, he had prevented any mishaps from happening through their travels. He did very well.

So well, that it was a bit suspicious.

His behavior was just like a normal head disciple who was put in charge of protecting his underlings. He protected them, he was patient with them, and he was calm and decisive when making decisions. As a leader, he was reliable.

Not once, did he try to initiate a fight with Lui Yang. Aside from the ever so often secret glances thrown toward the other, Zhang Tian followed Zhao Xui Shen's orders and did his job dutifully.

[If I didn't know any better I would truly believe him to be an upright human being.] The system acknowledged, as he also seem to take note of Zhang Tian's sudden change in behavior.

'Hmmm... how strange.'

The ends of Lui Yang's lips had turned downward in puzzlement. His thoughts silent and unknown.

[Zhang Tian wouldn't have had a sudden change in heart would he?]

"I doubt it. But even if he did have a change of heart. I'm still going to kill him."

It didn't matter to him if Zhang Tian had changed or if he was putting on an act to hide his true intentions. Because to Lui Yang, Zhang Tian was already a dead man. A thing that would soon cease to exist in this world.

But unbeknownst to Lui Yang, such brutal thoughts had already come to pass, and the present Zhang Tian he was seeing was only an echo of the past. And so in the not so distant future he would soon come to realize that. Sooner then later.

[Host you should be careful.]

Looking around at the crowd of cultivators that had already arrived, Lui Yang didn't think much of them at all. But it didn't hurt to be too cautious. Not when their target was one of the 8 Lord's of this world. And definitely not when that Lord was Qin Shi Yun himself.

[If host's predictions are right, Qin Yun should be here.]

"He's here." Lui Yang assured as he put on the storage ring Zhao Xui Shen had given him. He could feel it, Qin Yun was definitely here.

With little interest Lui Yang had searched through the ring with his consciousness and found a handful of talismans, two swords, and a golden jade amulet that emitted a terrifying power. A power that was dangerous yet familiar.

'Well I'll be damned.'

Zhao Xui Shen had given him an amulet filled with his life essence. It wasn't a lot but it wasn't a little bit either. It was just enough to protect him from any powerful foe under Transcended realm.

It was now clear that Zhao Xui Shen had also known that Qin Yun would come back for his disciple, and when he would strike. Just as Lui Yang was planning and plotting, his master was doing the same.

As the old saying goes, great minds think alike. Knowing this, Lui Yang did not hesitate to put the amulet around his neck and hide it under his garment. When the time came he would used it.

Smoothly Lui Yang joined the others in the crowd and waited for the Sect leaders announcement.

A bold elder with a classic white beard had stepped forward in front of the crowd an began to speak. "Disciples from both the west and north. I am the leader of the Boa Bing Sect. I am sure your masters have already prepared you therefore I will cut the announcement short. But I will say this; killing each other inside the realm is prohibited. Restrain from ending a human life over treasures. That is all."

Just like he had said, he kept his words short but made his point known.

There would be no killing in the secret realm.

Everyone, including Lui Yang had nodded in agreement. But deep inside they all knew that rule would quickly be broken once they took a step inside.

~•~•~•~•~•

The entrance to the secret realm was a huge teleportation array. The array appeared on a huge rock. As if entirely outlined with golden thread, the array emitted a striking light. Staring down at the array Lui Yang held a bit of expectations for the events that would soon unravel on the other side of the realm. He was a bit excited, after all these were things he only read in a novel.

As he stepped into the circle full of golden symbols he took a small glance toward Zhang Tian. And found him staring at the crowd of disciple's including his own martial brothers, with a gaze that was cold as a winters ocean. Such a gaze did not fit with Zhang Tian's character. And as if feeling a pair of eyes on him he turned toward Lui Yang and gave a gentle smile of reinsurance. Yet it did the opposite as his cold eyes did not match his soft expression.

[Is it me, or is he more... scarier than usual.]

"He's definitely changed." Lui Yang unhurriedly looked away from the other and allowed himself to be teleported away. His vision slightly blurred and his surroundings quickly changed. He looked at the present scenery and sighed.

Him, Zhang Tian, and the other two martial brothers from the same sect along with a group of cultivators, were all teleported to the high mist mountains. Huge land forest rocks, that floated in the middle of the sky and to top it off inhabited many, many, spiritual beasts.

And right now right off the bat, they were facing one.

[This is a bit unexpected.]

Lui Yang had fully read the novel, so he knew this would happen. The unexpected part was them meeting a spirit beast sooner then they should've. And instead of appearing in the rain forest they transported to the floating mountains. A place they would've arrived later in the story. Why?

Because the floating mountains was a level far above the rest. One was supposed to cultivate to grow stronger then face the boss. Not face the boss during the first stage and die.

"Talk about the butterfly affect." Lui Yang was amused.

[The beast and terrain both changed.]

"I don't know why. The situation was still the same." In the novel Lui Yang and Zhang Tian with two other disciples were sent to the secret realm. They approached the array with the disciples from the south. And the group was transported to the rain forest. Lui Yang didn't change anything so history should've repeated it self. But it didn't.

Instead of a lion with three scorpion tails, it was an huge owl with a body of an eagle. It wailed and screamed at all that trespassed onto it's land. The spirit beast was filled with rage and attacked with the intent to eradicate all in it's wake.

"Spread out! Spread out!!" One of the disciples had yelled. It was only then that everybody started to react.

Lui Yang on the other hand had reacted first before everyone began to fight. With ease, while everyone else was pre occupied he had quickly walked away from the group. He felt no need in fighting a war that had nothing to do with him, especially when he could avoid it. Reaching the edge of the cliff Lui Yang looked down at the sky, thick fog obstructing his view from the bottom. It was a long dive and if he was unlucky he'd fall to his death. But he knew that wouldn't be the case if he jumped.

He paused for a bit, listening to the chaos pursue behind him, as the sky filled with the screams of the dying. He couldn't help them even if he wanted to.

"Let's go."

Spreading his arms out wide in airplane fashion, Lui Yang smiled as he leaped off the cliff and escaped onto another terrain.

In the group full of young disciples who were fighting to their death stood a youth who was unfazed. He watched everyone flock around like ducks in a pathetic manner to save their lives. He was even tempted to kill them all in one swell swoop but stopped. Though the temptation was still there he chose to not be swade by it. There was something else he was more interested in.

Right now his attention was glued to the edge of the cliff that his martial brother had just jumped off from.

From the beginning he had been watching Lui Yang, his eyes never leaving him. As soon as the beast appeared everyone had froze or panicked. But one person in particular stood calm just like he did.

His reason for being unfazed was because he was abnormally strong, he needed not to worry. But what was Lui Yang's reason?

Lui Yang had showed the same exact expression he had seen before. One without the slightest bit of fear in it. He had none when they first faced off, had none just now when the level 7 spiritual beast appeared, and he had none when he jumped off the cliff. His serene blue eyes seem to embrace death as if it was his friend.

As one who has done the killing and has blessed many with death. His keen observation wasn't far fetched.

But that wasn't all that intrigued him. Lui Yang had moved and acted as if he knew what was going to happen. He knew what to do when the spirit beast appeared and he stared down at the bottom of the cliff as if he could see what was down there. Like he knew he wouldn't die once he jumped. Just like when they first met, he looked at him with eyes full of recognition. It was quick but he had seen it.

Aside from the 7 Lord's, who in the this human real had knew him? No one. Not a single one, because he was from the dark world. The demon realm.

A mere human had recognized him and had looked straight at him with eyes that were unwavering and enticing as the clearest bluest oceans.

A weak yet beautiful human.

He wasn't one for pretty faces but he'd make a bit of an exception for this one. That was, if Lui Yang could meet his expectations.
