105 Spending time

Well. after around a year and ten more restarts, I finally met a being that managed to keep this universe alive.

How?

It was a good natured reality manipulator who got killed by otherworldly invaders.

As it seems, reality manipulation rarely work on beings from different realities. And the one that arrived here was kept in prison for a long time, so after his inevitable death, he appeared here.

How do I know that it is safe to let him do it? I don't. I only left him to his business because he restricted all powers to a massive degree and fell asleep.

It was anticlimactic, I understand. but it is hardly my fault.

Especially as I was locked out by him. He literally enclosed solar system in a sphere that diluted time flow, making it hard to move through it.

And after more than a month, I only got through the first layer. I didn't know that it had layers. It seems that I can only watch the Earth, and not interfere in any way.

Well, it works perfectly well for me. I am happy about it. What can be better than an easy way out of problematic situation? It's like something or someone watches over me and makes it easy.

Well, I won't complain. I literally had to spend one month to get in, and another one to get out. So, just two months and I am literally free to do anything in a place that follows normal world rules.

As I got out of this locked space, I went to collect resources. What resources? asteroids in a belt. My ship was like a hungry beast that devoured food after prolonged starvation.

You could imagine it like a sphere vacuum cleaner devouring everything that flew by.

What would I need it for? Conversion. I needed resources. So, I just converted them in densest simple material I knew about, and stored it in neatly stacked cubes.

For some reason, these cubes were getting a rough blackish-grey surface after awhile.

Good thing is that I had a lot of free spaces in previously existing ecosystem rooms.

Now, only few top hundred meters were filled with stone and earth, making sky be less than half kilometer tall.

That was a sacrifice that had to be made.

I needed a lot of resources for the station that I wanted to create in here.

Why would I want to create a station and not a fleet for myself?

I had no reason to create a fleet, while station could support life.

Yes, I wanted to create a station filled with people. I didn't want to always stay connected to the hive, I didn't want to completely lose myself in it.

I literally was getting scared that I would stop being myself and merge with hive network, making me something different. Completely different from anything I am used to.

Even though I felt good while actively connected, I didn't want to stay connected for hundreds of years straight. I needed something else to do.

Someone else to talk to.

So, I decided to create an artificial world system. Why artificial? Creating a planet would take too much time an resources, so I decided to create space station - based community. All the basic knowledge I would provide to them.

A world full of cryogenically frozen people that were sent into outer space to survive and find habitable planet.

Yep. I decided to create an entertainment for myself, like those in the cinema, but on a little bit bigger scale.

A little bigger.

As for their memories? Well. they would be kids and they would be taught by the computer, until they grow the society.

I didn't want to create personalities of adults, as it is an extremely difficult and unhealthy task.

Especially if I forget something or create unexpected mistake. I don't want to imagine it.

Some people would call my idea as "Playing GOD", but I don't think so.

I am just giving life and allowing it to grow. I'm not creating it from nothing or implanting memories. I just growing people and giving them knowledge. Like a responsible adult that I am

Or, should I call myself an elder?

Meh. My mental growth stopped long ago. I can't imagine myself being like that.

So... What would station be like?

How advanced should I make it?

Hmm. Definitely not too advanced. Maybe sci-fi human technology? Or should I add some extraterrestrial tech?

Hmm.

Okay. Let's create a huge cylindrical station with orbiting gravity generating rings. There would be a space in these rings too, but I will leave it's description to a later date.

I want a classic movie stuff.

A huge main station, food growing sections. Oxygen generations, living quarters, and much much more.

As time passed, I created a circular tube that was encircled by many other tubes, creating a donut shaped ship.

Yep. Earth is a donut.

What Earth? Station Earth!

This station was constructed meticulously, making it self sustainable and repairable even without humans.

As for me? I would follow this station in invisibility, flying into the distance, and enjoying the growing race of my own creation.

Why I called it my creation?

Well, I used humans as a base and edited it's genes.

I made them less prone to sicknesses.

a little bit more resistant to pain.

Much more sensitive, as number of nerves was multiplied.

No cancer genes were kept. They could only appear naturally in future generations.

Spine grew bigger and stronger.

Fingers were basically much more flexible.

And much more little fixes to make life better, but not exclude problems and difficulties.

They would still get sick, they would still get tired. They still could grow bald, but it was reversible. Especially in early stages.

As for why I made them better than simple humans? I just wanted them not to care too much on these issues.

I wanted to see drama, scientific inventions and a search for a new place to stay at.

Obviously, I took basic knowledge from basic Earths and loaded it into the ship.

I wanted them to have a desire to see sea. To look at the sky, to feel the freedom they don't have. And to see the ridiculous desire of freedom, while being absolutely free in the expanse of space was the thing that I wanted to see the most.

I wanted them to be as illogical as every other human, while being better and smarter than many other species.

Yes, it was kind of perverted idea, but after getting connected to hive for a long time, I was getting tired of seeing absolutely peaceful and logical life. At least inside the race.

As for what this station would bring me to? I don't know. I only know that in these five years of creating it, I decided to live inside the station, as one of the robots that were controlling the station.

What? Yes. I made it so humans were giving directions, but not controlling. They would destroy my creation too fast otherwise.

Maybe I should appear human?

Hmm. Should I act like a kid? hmm.

Kid with a big head.

Yes. definitely. I will spend another year to grow artificial body for myself. And no, it won't be biological. It would mimic biological body. In appearance and functions.

I didn't have knowledge to connect my skull to biological tissue and make it work. I want to cry.

Sorry for disappearing after returning.

I was scared to return. To turn webnovel app on.
