Mrityunjay stood, his fists clenched at his sides. This was the window of opportunity he had been waiting for, a chance to find out exactly what happened behind the curtains at the Ashram. It was his one chance to free his family from the curse of Brihannala, once and for all. It was the only way he could hope to unite his broken family. If the truth of Brihannala was exposed, then there was a real chance that Godha ma’m could finally realise her folly and love him as she loved Milind. Just that reason was good enough to take this chance. As he moved forward to descend the steps, his mind wandered to images of Shivani.

His gut instincts warned him to go to her. It was impossible to ignore the gnawing sense of foreboding that seemed to scream to him in his head. Mrityunjay closed his eyes, and tried to dissuade himself from the notion. Shivani was capable of handling Brihannala. She would be able to take care of herself.
