1 Prologue

"There is no option I'll leave you here!" The girl screamed, her face streaked with tears, but her eye filled with determination.

Without letting go of his hand, she looked around looking for something that might help her.

"Honey, you have to let me go. You know you can't pull me in by yourself, and..."

"Quiet! I... I... I'll find something! I told you that we have a relationship in which we either live together or die together!" The girl screamed, and her eyes flashed when she saw a piece of the board that had yet to fall apart. She could lean on it and try to drag the boy up.

"Sunshine, only you are able to get out of here on time... Even if you pull me in, both my legs are cut off. You won't be able to leave with me." The boy tried to convince her with one eye, while the other was flooding with blood from his head.

"Save your strength, Lucas. Don't speak." The girl tried to pull herself towards the edge, but she felt the time pressure on her.

The ROOM was dissolved, therefore it began to fall apart. The chess board floor had crumbled and there was a chasm below it so deep that the bottom couldn't be seen. Lucas was hanging above it.

The girl felt sweat mixed with blood running down her, squeezed her lover's hand so tightly that she couldn't even feel her fingers. Her arm screamed in pain over so much effort, her other arm was bleeding from the elbow down, the place where her left eye should be was a terrifying and disgusting bloody hole, her stomach had a bit of a blade stuck in the side, and part of her neck, right thigh and calf had third degree burns.

The only thing that kept her awake was her will to survive and the despair that devoured her.

"Anabelle! Listen to me!" The boy exclaimed, at which the girl finally looked into his clear, sky eyes. Until now, she was afraid to do it, didn't want to see him like this, didn't want to hear what he wanted to tell her.

"They're all dead, honey. You have to write down the poem. If you don't, all our sacrifices will be wasted! I love you, Belle. You know that I love you." The boy said, losing his strength, and his eyes were clearly reluctant. He didn't want to die. He still had a job to do, people to protect, but couldn't.

Tears ran down the girl's face and burned into her burns, but she couldn't do anything about it, just stubbornly trying to reach the piece that might help her.

"Don't give up, Lucas! You know... You taught us... never to give up! Don't you dare! If you die, I'll follow you!" The girl screamed, not wanting to hear his words or accept the loss.

She has already lost so many people here. Friends with whom she had walked so many ROOMS, she had solved so many puzzles and gathered information. She managed to pick herself up after them, but she won't pick up after Lucas. She couldn't lose him. Not him.

"Belle. Look at me." The girl, however, was stubborn. She held his hand, ready to either pull him up or fall with him.

"You can't die here. We promised each other we would get out of here, remember? We promised each other that we would see the world together, that we would take Max with us. Nobody will find a way out but you, darling. You can't come with me." Lucas said, letting go of his beloved's hand, who had to stop reaching for a piece of the board and threw her other hand to keep him on the edge.

"Find a way out. Remember that I'll be with you. I love you, Anabelle." The boy's smile got the girl off guard and he yanked the last of his strength out of her grip and flew off into the abyss.

The girl widened her eye in surprise and wanted to immediately jump after him, but his words stopped her. Her mind started spinning looking for a technique, a way to save him, but everything was mixed up.

The noise of stones falling around her, bits of walls and floor, the stench of blood, burning and despair hung in the air. The darkness that heralded that her time was running out.

Before he was out of her sight, she screamed the last words with all the strength of her lungs.

"I love you, Lucas!!!"
