7 Husband and wife

Anna stood in the state of bewilderment after hearing Shane's parting words and she could not hear any of George blabbers.

WE ARE GETTING MARRIED TODAY...

Meanwhile, in the study room.

Edward stood up from the chair in belligerent and asked Luyisa, "Today?! Is this a joke?" He resembled like a volcano which was ready to explode at any second.

Lulu and Charlie had already stepped out of the study room to give them a room for privacy and Lulu tapped the room before leaving the study room. She sat quietly listening to their conversation in the next room.

When she heard that their marriage was planned to be registered today, all her fantasy were once again shattered.

Lulu instantly contacted the Civil Affairs office to confirm whatever she heard was true or not. A person from the office validated that they indeed have made an arrangement beforehand.

She fastened her pace and contacted Mr. Huo to inform him about every detail of the current situation; he was the last string that she can pull off right now.

In the backyard, Charlie was silently making the necessary calls to execute the marriage arrangement.

Once Lulu hung up the call, she quickly went to the study room. As she was about to knock, she heard the roaring sound from her husband.

Lulu called one of her trusted maids and whispered something in her ears; The maid's eyes fired up in fear but she quickened to resurface calmness. She then nodded to Lulu and left the place to carry on with the task given by her mistress.

Edward bellowed, "Though it concerns Anna's safety, I can't make some hasty decision."

Luyisa let out a smirk, "Why?! Is it because you are worried about your daughter's future, or else, you are worried about the WILL that's been locked in safe for the past seven years."

Lulu who entered the room screeched at once, "Yes! Of course for the WILL that we are worried. No one knows what is in the WILL but we all definitely know that it is in favor of Anna. What if you take advantage of the situation?"

Luyisa smirked, "Sister-in-law makes sense… But do answer me, Lulu! Why did you arrange Huo to marry Anna in the first place? Is that the same reason for 'taking advantage of Anna."

"Enough of this nonsense! I am taking my daughter-in-law with me today; One who can stop me from doing so is Anna. I'll ask for her approval in front of everyone. If she says 'Yes', I'll take her home and if she says 'no', I'll continue to be her guardian."

Tut tut tut… her sharp heels made a strong vibe. She walked out of the room without looking back at the couple. Both of them stood stunned by her words, now how can they stop her?

Luyisa ordered the maid to leave a message to everyone to gather in the living room. The first person to arrive was Anna.

Anna pushed the crying George out of the window once Shane left; While she was pushing George outside, Lulu's maid entered her room and left a pouch secretly near the air conditioner. And then she served a cup of tea to Anna to divert the suspicion.

As expected Anna felt suspicious about the actions of the maid as she never once received such hospitality before. Once the maid left, she poured the tea outside the windows where George was still standing.

She then sat in the bed breathing in and out to calm herself. Once she heard that Aunt Luyisa called her, she sprung up swiftly and left the room. While walking out, she felt her head hurt but she ignored it for once.

Luyisa looked around and made sure that everyone was present including the little brother-sister duo. She looked at Anna tenderly and asked, "Did you talk to Shane? Did he tell you the purpose of the visit?"

"Yes, aunty!" Anna replied.

"Do you agree to marry Shane?"

"Yes!" She replied again. Her legs were feeble and her head hurt more. Lulu held a smug face and thought, 'Let me see! How she will leave from here today? Marriage! yuh… In your dreams.'

While Lulu was mocking inwardly at them, Everyone heard solid footsteps from behind, they looked at the direction of the footsteps and found Charlie's Assistant and a middle-aged man entering the living room. The middle-aged man handed over a document to Charlie and stepped aside.

Lulu stood dumbstruck. 'What?! they have even prepared the officer from civil affairs office to pay a visit in person. What can I do now?! Is there no way for me to stop this marriage.'

Charlie cleared his throat, "'cough'… Shane! Anna! Come over! As of now, Sign these papers and we'll make a proper wedding ceremony later. Officer Craig needs to hurry back to the office, so quickly sign it."

Shane signed the papers and then passed it to Anna. Anna took the papers with a shaky hand and then signed it clumsily.

Shane noticed Anna's hands were trembling, 'Is she nervous or is she marrying me to get the hell out of here? The latter should be the right one; we knew nothing about each other.'

The last thing that he would do in this world is to get to know about a girl. Wooing a girl is utter nonsense in his dictionary… All the girls he had seen so far are no different.

They were after luxurious life and power. Like a boring toy which will repeat only the programmed expressions nothing special.

The officer from the civil affair office signed and then sealed the document to present it to Shane and Anna, "This is your marriage certificate. Now you are husband and wife, Congratulations!"

Anna who hold on for so long to hear those precious words, let go of her worries and fall into the hands of her lawful wedded husband.

Everyone around Anna was horror-struck to witness her fall. Shane slid his hands under her waist and carried her swiftly. He noticed her body was so cold and her breathing was not at all steady.

Without batting an eyelid at others, he swiftly run out of the house carrying Anna in his arms. Once he dropped Anna safely in the passenger seat, he ran to the driver seat and hit the engine to drive away from the spot.
