17 A Date With A Stranger(3)

Anna stumbled by the sudden attack of the vigilance. Unable to comprehend herself, she quivered in fear of what will happen next.

"Don't be afraid! We won't hurt pretty girls. Trust me, come join us and let's go for a ride, you will like it"

Saying so, that guy closed in, making Anna shiver more. At the exact moment, a shabby car pulled aside Anna making them jerk away.

"Kid! Need a lift?" Jacob snickered.

Anna turned her head to look at the direction of the voice and responded in relief and joy, "Jacob! Thank God! You are here?! I am coming! Wait for me, I am coming!"

Without hesitation, she ran to the passenger side and slid inside the car quickly.

Jacob scanned the guys with a smile which turning into a devilish grin, "Sorry buddies! I am taking the pretty girl with me today. But you will have your fun for sure. Cheerio! Have a good trip!"

Before the rogue could react, Jacob hit the engine and left the place waving his hands to them.

"What?! You shabby pig!!! How dare you?" The guy who harassed Anna earlier was so raged, "Dumb girl! You picked that shabby car owner instead of me."

Jacob turned to face Anna, "How did you manage to live alive till this date, it is a real wonder to me. Look at you! Just in a day, you have created a huge mess."

When the car made the cut to hit the road, a group of police sirens heard. Anna turned around and found that the bunch of guys who harassed Anna has been arrested by them.

"Did you call the police?" Anna asked Jacob with anticipation.

"Nope!" he said. He thought inwardly, 'But my assistant did call them.'

Anna started relaxing more in the uncomfortable seat. only then she realized the poor condition of the car.

"So? this is your car", Anna scanned the interior of the car carefully. She was in a rush getting into the car earlier, so she didn't pay much attention to it. By looking at the interior of the car, one might judge that the young man had a poor background.

She never judged a person by their status and looks but by their characters and heart. To that point, Jacob is way ahead of many other lads she had met in her life.

Jacob noticed her wavering eyes. Instantly, he got an idea of playing the role of a poor guy, "So?! Young girl! Do you like this poor guy car? Is it comfortable for you?"

Anna realized she was gawking at the car for so long and she was embarrassed by her actions, "I am sorry, Jacob! Ahh... Thank you for your help once again. I really do owe you for your help. I sure will repay your kindness one day."

"Nah! This poor guy doesn't expect anything back. So?! You're kind of curious about my car. Do you have anything to say about it?"

"I... I truly had no big thoughts about you earlier."

Jacob eyed her, "But now you are thinking about it, Don't you? Why?! You don't like poor guys?"

"No... No... Absolutely not. It is your hospitality that made me withdraw a bit. You spent a lot of money on a stranger without a second thought. By then, I thought you are just another rich novice guy who spent money to show off."

Jacob's eyebrows creased, "Rich novice guy? Is that how you saw me before."

Anna tilted her head as she answered him, "Kind of!!! But now I know, you are not showing off. You were truly trying to help me." 

 He continued to press the question, so that he can know how she felt about him, "Oh... So what is your opinion now?"

"Hmm... You can be a good friend and a reliable person to anyone." Anna answered reluctantly drawing a clear line between them.

"So that's it then. You don't want a boyfriend like me? Is it because I don't suit your status?"

Anna slumped back in her seat in exasperation, "Jacob! Be reasonable. I told you already that I have a boyfriend. This is nothing to do with who you are or what you do."

"Hmm... If you never had a boyfriend before, then would I be able to grasp a chance."

"No! you won't!! You are an annoying piece of crap. I have no intention of dying young out of frustration."

Anna's kind way of responding was long gone. Now, It was filled with annoyance and remorse for answering him. She shut her eyes and breathed in and out to relax.

Jacob laughed at her reply and continued to drag, "Mmmm... What if I am a super rich who can swallow your boyfriend like a piece of cake. Would you then consider me?"

"Hell no! The current Jacob is far better than the wealthy serpent who can swallow people for nothing."

"Hmm... So, you like the current Jacob the best."

'What the hell! When did I tell him that I like him? Oh my! Oh my poor soul! A few more minutes! Only a few more minutes.'

'Ok! Though he was getting on your nerve, he at least made you forgot about all the tension you had earlier.' Her inner voices started debating again much to her annoyance.

"Forget it!" Anna told to herself.

"Sorry! What were you saying?" Jacob looked at the girl who stopped talking abruptly.

Anna closed her eyes pretending to be asleep. He smiled at the pretending girl and picked up his phone to look for directions but it displayed a security alert.

"Hey! Are you an endangered species, why cannot I find the directions to your residence?" Jacob stared at Anna.

Anna opened her eyes and blinked, "Endangered species?"

Jacob showed his phone to let her see the alert, "Oh! you meant the security alert. My bad! I will direct you."

Jacob looked at the profoundly guarded girl, "No need. I know my own way to find the route."

"As you wish!" Anna shrugged her shoulders and slumped back on the seat and continued her pretence.
