23 Chapter 23 : After a long time. (1)

Sunrays fell inside the room. Rachel was sleeping on the bed. Her face looked even more gorgeous as the rays fell on her face. She slowly opened her eyes but shut immediately due to the brightness of the sun. She rolled on to her side and took out her mobile to see the time.

"Oh shit!" She tossed the duvet aside and sprinted into the bathroom. She had overslept.

Yesterday night, due to all the mixed-up emotions she couldn't sleep early. She had tossed and turned all night.

As a result, she woke up late. Like, really really late. It was a weekend, she didn't need to go to the office. But, she had to pick her friend today! How could she forget that? Ugh! Her friend would bury her alive if she didn't go on time.

She hastily took shower, put on some denim blue jeans and a white plain shirt, matching with white sneakers. After applying some lipstick and mascara, she was ready to go.

Just as she reached the dining hall, She spotted Colin who was reading a newspaper with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Good morning, dad," She greeted him while putting her clutch and mobile into her handbag.

"Good afternoon, dear," Rachel paused her movements. She felt embarrassed to face him. She heard his muffled laughter from behind.

"I overslept." She murmured.

"You rarely sleep for a longer time. It's fine. What's the hurry?"

Remembering that she had to pick her friend but was still here 'chatting' with Colin, she slapped her forehead. 'I again forgot.'

"I'm going out to pick my friend, Crysta. I will call you later, Dad." She ran outside and got into her car.

'She will kill me for sure!'

After two hours of the journey, she reached the airport around 3.30 pm. She saw people exiting and guessed that her timing was perfect. Phew!

She stood near the gateway, wiping her sweat. All the people left one by one but she couldn't find the familiar face at all.

'Has she not come yet?'

"Who are you looking for?"

An arrogant voice came behind her back. Rachel turned back to the source of the voice. She got stunned.

There stood a girl in her early twenties wearing tight black ripped jeans and a white crop top with a pair of black boots. She had a delicate face which was almost covered because of the black shades she was wearing. Her pale face made her brown hair and red lips to look even hotter. She was indeed gorgeous.

She slowly made her way towards Rachel. She removed her shades exposing the two hidden wide-set, brown eyes.

"Were you searching for me?"

Crysta asked raising her eyebrows. Rachel squealed and dashed towards her for a hug. Both stood there hugging for a while until Rachel pulled away.

"Wow, girl, you look hot," Rachel exclaimed.

"Is it not obvious? Come, let's go. I have been waiting here for an hour." Crysta flipped her hair confidently. Rachel followed her, pouting her lips. 'Was the flight reached just now, not hers?'

"So, where are we going now?" Rachel asked while putting on her seatbelt.

"Let's go and get wasted!" Crysta cheered inside the car. They had a lot to catch up with each other's lives.

After driving for god know-how long, the car stopped in front of a high-end bar and restaurant. It was a three-storied building, where the first floor was a family restaurant and the other two floors were the bar.

Crysta was excited to explore this place. Her luggage was still in the car. She could take care of it later. She couldn't wait to spend some valuable time with her best friend over a wine.

She dragged Rachel inside the building. When they reached the third floor, a bouncer stopped them to ask for a VIP card.

Rachel, of course, didn't have any. Firstly, she wasn't fond of such places. Secondly, she didn't know they need the so-called VIP card. Why would they need it? Isn't it just a bar? Didn' she and Darren enter the other pub previously without having any card? Or... was it not the case?

Crysta nudged Rachel to show the card.

Rachel felt like burying herself in the hole. How can she not know all this stuff?

"I...I don't have any..." She trailed off. Ow, her friend must be disappointed right?

"Oh, it's fine. Let's go somewhere else." Crysta didn't mind it at all. Why? She had already expected it. Because, for god's sake, it's Rachel they were talking about!

The bouncer stopped them again and spoke,

"You can go to the second floor, it is available for everyone."

"Oh, thank you,"

They both entered the bar and were greeted by a piece of loud music.
