An Inch Under

Being given birth, the newborn prince Ego was burdened with the curse of living his everyday life with a single percentage of death. Assassination attempts and accidental causes placed the boy in a tight spot, as each of his friends and bodyguards fell one after another. Isolating himself to placate his fear, the prince under tight security and immense observation soon changed when his father, the King, succumbed to his illness. Due to succession rights of the primogeniture law, Ego, with his curse hidden to the public, had no choice but to make an appearance to his people, exposing himself. With the lives of his subjects now placed unto his hands, and the kingdom under threats of aggressive stances suggested by the neighboring tribes on the north, the growing influence of the foreign policies on south by the Confederation of the United legions, and the imminent rebellion of the vassal states. The court of the kingdom now under confusion due to such circumstances, defection and ambitions of making the currently new king a puppet begun to arose in the hearts of his officials. Under immense pressure, it seems God had given the boy other worries than his own life.
