2 Good Luck Charm

Amanda was walking towards her third interview for the week. Her company had downsized due to financial problems, and she had been one of hundreds let go. She had been looking for a good job, not any job for a few weeks now and had been able to get these three interviews.

She reached the office building with twenty minutes to spare, it was more than 30 stories. She had applied to be an office manager for a non-profit that worked out of the 25th floor. It was called Freedom@Work. From what she had read, it focused on providing scholarship to students in specific fields with the goal of changing the future of work. She was not exactly sure what it meant, but the position paid well and it being a non-profit was bonus. She wanted to be in a job where she contributed to good change in the world, and this could be it.

She looked at her smartwatch, it felt completely out of place on her, but it had been a gift from her elder sister, a good luck charm she had said.

Despite how the other two interviews had gone standing at the entrance of the building she felt a sense of excitement and eagerness. All the nervousness she had felt was leaving. She removed the earphones and put them safely into her bag and walked into the building.
